I regret having wasted my 5yrs in school. I can't have a B. Agric tech in animal science and be working as a housekeeper in a hotel. It's so disheartening. Honesty. 1 Like 1 Share |

Sometimes I feel I made a serious mistake going to the tertiary institution. You are very dull and your mindset is flawed, that is your problem. BTW, you are still not properly educated even now. You are referring to an Ordinary National Diploma as a DEGREE. That being said, the primary aim of formal education is to increase your KNOWLEDGE base and sharpen your mind to THINK. To pursue a degree programme solely for the purpose of securing a paid employment thereafter is a wrong mindset and a recipe for unending frustration. If you have increased your knowledge base and can think creatively, you can't be jobless. You will be either employed by another or be self-employed. 1 Like |

Till today, my cousin regret ever getting a degree without a better job. He said, if he had known what he knows now then, he would have venture into business or learn a skill instead of wasting the 5yrs course in school and 1yr nysc. That by now, he would have become an employer of labour and a boss on its own and still go back to school if he had want. |

You go to tertiary institution basically to obtain the certificate, and not to learn and acquire knowledge. |

Until you find it difficult to knock on some doors or air your views in some circles because you don't have the necessary certification. Formal Education is never a waste... You can get away with some privileges in this country on the basis of having Bsc alone 3 Likes 1 Share |

If the university wasn't the reason why I left Nigeria and established myself in the west, I would regret going to uni, especially if I did it in Nigeria. Most of what I know is based on my elemental habit of autodidactism (self-study), as opposed to a traditional method of education. I make money via my entrepreneurial skills, and not through my degree whatsoever. In fact, I like the social aspect of the university, to be exposed to things I won't otherwise be, but the education purely in itself can be gotten through other methods without stress, late-night sleep, expense, and pausing oneś life for four years. 10 Likes 1 Share |

haybhi1: It's a scam.. as long as you know how to read and write, find something that gives you money. Thats it. Truck drivers make more than most university graduates in advanced countries. See the population of university graduate degree is about 35% in America and the advanced world. Zuckerberg. Facebook CEO is a Harvard drop out. Steve jobbs only learnt how to code. Use your head. If are going to school and your are investing 8-10 million. To be paid #80,000 monthly. That's if you even see such jobs. Something is wrong with you. It's only in Africa that people carry school 4 head. Just like religion. I tire! 1 Like 1 Share |

Thats a problem with the human mind. Have you checked the percentage of people that aren't doing well versus does doing well? You'd be surprised at what you'd find. School is important! 1 Like |

Sometimes I feel I made a serious mistake going to the tertiary institution. OP, it is obvious you do not know the main reason of going to school. Unfortunately, there are many of you out there and here on nairaland. School is not and end as you think, it is not a destination too . Btw, OND is not a degree, it is a Diploma. If I did not go to school, I would not have been able to correct you 1 Like |

yiheaster: The thing Is Education is Good and the best Legacy. But in a Nation like Nigeria, You can't really be proud of going to school These Days If you hail from a Poor Background. If we check well. Most of these people complaining are from Poor/Average Backgrounds in Nigeria. And the Poor/Average Families are always the Majority In any Nation all over the World. The Times when Poor/Average People doesn't need any Connections to Climb the ladder of Success Is long gone In Nigeria Forever. A Rich/Wealthy family wouldn't complain one bit. 1 Like |

Nope I don't.. Learning is a continous process.. you learn both on and off campus. I learnt the one on campus and still learning off campus till this very moment. It depends on how you see life.. you need to have a positive mindset and embrace delayed gratification to become successful in life. Education is still the best legacy. 1 Like 1 Share |

My Degree is useless for now. I'm not jobless, but what I'm doing has nothing to do with my degree. By the time it becomes clear to me, that I can no longer use it. Then would regret ever having it. |
