The name of the Labour Party candidate for Surelere 1 Constituency, Olumide Oworu, is missing on the final list of governorship and House of Assembly candidates.

Reports on social media especially Twitter had insinuated that Oworu’s name was missing.

A Twitter user @StFrankingKezy in a tweet said “This guy is not even a candidate of LP in the forthcoming Gov & HoA elections oooooo because his name is not even on INEC list. Wonders shall never end. Who started the narrative?”

Daily Trust obtained the final list of gubernatorial and state House of Assembly candidates and found that Oworu’s name is indeed missing from the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) list.

In his place, INEC listed 47-year-old Adebayo Bode.

Last Thursday, Olumide Oworu and his supporters were attacked by suspected political thugs around Bode Thomas Street Junction in Surulere when they were about to kick off a campaign rally.

Oworu is contesting against the All Progressives Congress’s (APC) Desmond Elliot, a fellow Nollywood actor.

INEC has failed us woefully this time, this is one of reasons people are not coming out to vote

Just like the corper girl in Nasarawa that Peter Obi lied to us about, that she is poor. Which later turned out that her father is a senior police officer and she is doing well for herself and also a member of LP campaign team.

The Olumide Omoru was also an internet clout chasing project by the Labour party to draw more sympathy votes, reason few days to the election, so many attack propaganda was centred around him. Even though we tried making the endless mob understand that the guy is not even on INEC list of candidates, they never listen.. They were so lost in the internet buzz and sensation.


Truly, you have to give away your brain to become an Ob!dient. It is now very clear.

The INEC list is different from the ballot paper. Yakubu Mahmoud the APC INEC chief thief can play his gimmicks with that one, as long as the LP logo is on the ballot. People will thumbprint for LP .

Why blaming INEC let LP come out and deny the candidate and go to court and retrieve the mandate for the guy stop jumping into conclusions just because you don't trust INEC...

Labour Party is a useless party that wanted to disenfranchise loyal party members with many years of loyalty, in favour of political prostitutes and ticket hunters like Obi, Datti-Ahmed and GCRV who left PDP after their respective failures.

Is this the kind of useless party that wanted to rule Nigeria and the governorship of Lagos.

It is very convenient to blame INEC but the fact is that this guy did not contest in his party's primary election. He is not in INEC'S registered list. INEC does not recognise him as the Labour Party's candidate in that constituency
