This is a call out to ALABACONNECT, a TV seller on here that sold a defective TV which got bad the very next day. He agreed to pick and replace, he picked another unit and sent over and that one aswell started misbehaving. He sent a dispatcher which I agreed to pay for the weigh-bill.

After days of one excuse or the other he said that there was a repairer repairing the set, he came back to tell me that they said the chip didn't work but the only solution is to change the screen which will cost #150k and I should be ready to share the cost with him. Note that I found out in the course of taking suggestions from him to reset the first TV that the TV has been tampered with but sold as direct UK used....the internal model number was for a 49in curved TV manifesting in a 50in flat screen.

It might be a long read but bear with me.

On the 18th of January, I saw a tv he posted on his WhatsApp status and it appealed to me. Luckily I was around the vicinity of his shop so I found my way down there to pick it. When I got there, I saw other TV's, selected one and we bargained and I paid #190k to him and took it home.

By the time I got the TV hooked up, because I needed to fix the hanger I noticed that after some few hours of watching it the TV will just go off, come on go off again and come back on. This happens randomly so it was hatd to oick on camera to show him. By the next day I informed him about it, he started giving me different procedure to do like resetting it to factory mode, etc that was when I saw the model of the TV that it was for a 49in curved. I asked him why is the model for a curved TV and even sent him the link of the review online. This guy said IT'S NOT A BIG DEAL.

Anyway, he later sent someone on the 19th to come pick it up and brought a replacement on the 20th.

My side of the story.

After bringing the TV, the guy hooked it up himself because I was not around.

Take note that my family rarely watches TV.

After some days, this replacement TV started jittering. I said let me observe it first before raising alarm, this jitter was becoming pronounced. Around election period I wanted to follow the proceedings of the election since movement was slow anyway, but the issues now became very bad that I had to send him a picture and asked what was the cause of it. He said he doesn't know that I should try resetting it, and he was now saying that the TV he collected first was working fine and he had even sold it. I was surprised.

Anyway this second TV became so bad he said it will have to come back, so i opted to take care of delivery and pickup this time around.

He sent a guy with sienna to come pick up, meanwhile the first time it was a guy that carried the TV on his shoulder that came to pick up and return it, and this sienna guy was kinda charging high, but I bargained it and paid him... At this point I hoped for the best because I was already having a bad feeling about the quality of his items.

Fast forward to some days later, I asked him how far with the TV, he said that well he has taken it to a Samsung repairer that there is a chip that needs to be fixed that he is suspecting my power supply has damaged the TV and some other people he spoke to said they don't know what caused it but they suspect my supply. He said this too after I complained ab6the first TV.

Now in my home, I use a puresinewave inverter for the whole house and anybody who knows about inverters will know it is even better than grid supply, especially the oure sinewave ones. And this same ALABACONNECT is someone that didn't even know about eco mode on his smarr TV when I got to his shop, I was the one showing him and explaining that it is good for inverter users since the TV will not consume much power in that mode... I told him my power supply is fine and can't be the reason for those issues. And that I have other appliances like DStv, LED projector and sound system connected to that socket plus even a surge connected... He was like well he doesn't know much about power supply but that he is certain it is my power supply...

So I said ok, what Do I do he said I need to get a smart surge, which I know already won't do much difference but I said ok, he should please get one for me and aend back with the repaired TV. After a while of silence from him, I found where he was been roped into some issues with another TV seller on NL so I messaged him that this TV he is repairing I would want a 4months warranty on it and if anything happens within the warranty period I want a full refund. He said that refunds don't work that way that he can give me 3minths warranty. I reluctantly agreed.

After some days, I asked him how was the test going on because he said he will collect the TV and test it for a full day before sending it to me, he started giving one excuse or the other that something came up or he is busy etc etc.

Later he sent me a message that the repairer said the chip he put is not working and that right now the only solution to the TV was a full screen replacement... My heart sank

He now said that we will both have to share the cost of the screen replacement.... I went blank. How would I pay 190k for a tv that didn't even last 3days with me, was found to be of abother model inside different from the outside, had it replaced and within weeks another internal fault has occurred and now this seller is asking me to share 150k cost with him?!

So I told him I'll get back to him.. I now sent the video of the screen issue to another Tv seller explaining the whole situation. That one then told me that 5his second TV issue has little or nothing to do with power supply that it's very likely a problem that has been there was repaired and given to me as DIRECT UK used. Then it dawned on me that I was about to be swindled... The seller later sent me a message askig how far, so I told him that I don't have any money to give him for screen replacement, that either he fixes rhe TV and send down with the warranty as agreed or he gives me a full refund. He told me that he CAN NEVER GIVE A FULL REFUND AND HE CAN NEVER BEAR THE FULL COST of the screen replacement. This was yesterday, and I told him that I am giving him till Wednesday to make good our agreement.

Before I could say Jack, this guy ran to NL and started crying out first that NLders should come and judge between him and one Tripple and gave a twisted story of the whole thing (that is the link he posted up here, i guess).... A friend on here called my attention to it, I logged in and had to start giving my own side of the story. At a point he stopped responding maybe because the sympathy he was expecting was fast fadin when people began to aee through his charade.

After much public judgment and opinions and even calls to me to please find a middle ground for the sake of peace, I later wrote a message there that I am ready to forfeit 20% of my money and get an 80% refund rather than touch any appliance from him aince I have lost all trust on the quality of his items.

Since then he has refused ro respond to that message.

That place has the highest concentration of conmen masquerading as business men. Them dey even scam law enforcement sef. Alaba story will take a thread!

Go and ask of their task force chairman and report the issue to them. They may get the guy to do something. Alternatively, involve law enforcement.

A note of caution to all : cut your coat according to your clothe. If you have 190k for t.v, matter of fact any other electronic/electrical appliance, go for a NEW product that your purse can afford and buy from reputable dealers(You stand a better chance of getting a valid warranty in such instance)

Modern T.v screens have lifespans, and you dont know how far into the designated lifespan the used product you're buying has gone. Dont be penny wise...

Buy your appliances NEW and have peace of mind. This is a lesson to everyone

I'm not taking sides but I've done business with ALABACONNECT in the past and it went smoothly.

I have never met him yet he waybilled the TV down to my state in good condition and it served me for years (3 years) before I gave it out.

ALABACONNECT can be other things but definitely not a scam.

ALABACONNECT try to resolve this issue amicably for your image and name sake.

I have also conducted 3 trades with alabaconnect (brand new fridge/freezer + 2 brand new portable AC units)....... All 3 transactions went smoothly.......

Let's not be quick to open threads tarnishing images of people, brand new items can also be defective from factory......

Hopefully alabaconnect and OP, would reach a level of compromise and sort this issue out ......

NB: selling electronic items, comes with it's associated risks..... What is important is the ability of the seller, to quickly deal with the matter and provide a solution the buyer would be pleased with ..........

Lexusgs430 earned my respect for life when I had a transaction with him. He really surprised me with how he handle the transaction. I can send money to him and go to sleep. His man in Lag is just too good and nice person I don't think they were from this part of the world. They may not remember me again but their actions speak so laud for them. If you are dubious, one day you will be exposed for who you are and drag you till people run from you.

A note of warning to ALL. Please henceforth avoid any tv or electronic product coming from Alaba international. That place is full of scammers and heartless rogues. They scam physically everyday. If you go to the fairly used tv section especially where they repair tvs and stay for a moment, you will see different complaints from different buyers and different drama. Avoid any electronic product coming from Alaba international they have been badly tampered with. I visit the market often and my numerous tv experiences with them have always been bad

The shocking thing is that even brand new items are not spared too. I once bought a brand new Sony tv from Alaba after my numerous horrible experiences with fairly used tvs and it only lasted less than 2 years before it developed screen problem. The one I bought from Graceglory and not brand new has lasted for 5 years and counting.

OP however you can, get Alabaconnect arrested so that your money does not go into voicemail. If you settle a law enforcement agent 20k, it is better than losing 190k. These Alaba con men are heartless knowing fully well how difficult it is to make money in Nigeria

I warned everyone against him and my thread was deleted. I bought tv and ac from him. On the ac trade he used another name and number to decieved me. Their second Mornica is “acunon” and all they sell is fakes. when u talk about how they only sell fakes they play the victim and term it tribalism. I spent 70k on a tv and never used it for a day and it is still with me for evidence sake.

I’d treat anything regarding this seller with utmost seriousness and caution. Do exactly what I have advised you if you can afford it. Involve the Law. They are there to protect you if you are sure of your Facts.

For those comments about how trustworthy he is anyway, he has declined an 80% refund on amicable grounds on the other thread so I'll refrain from posting much about this online and take things a notch higher offline.

A good man will find ways to peacefully sort things out with you especially since his business name is involved. A con man will play you and still find ways to blame you. Refunding 80% to the aggrieved customer and using 20% plus his own money to fix the tv and resell is what a reasonable good man would do

when I read comments like this,I smile......unless you are in a field,you really can't tell what is going on.when 5 clients come out to comment same thing about 1 person,the best you can do is private chat the seller,ask him why things are going wrong,advice him not to SPOIL the NAME he has BUILT over the YEARS.will give you an example...I will not mention company names,I worked with one of the first phone/computer service companies in computer village for 9 years.....there is no new tricks you can tell me about computer village,we know who runs them.......around 2010,this big phone seller,the biggest in computer village had issues with few customers.when they buy a new phone,1..pictures and contact numbers are already stored on them,2 develops a charging problem within 1/2 weeks.There is a trend with sellers when they have established and made a name for themselves,they infiltrate their market with sub standard items and sell as good items just to make more profit.....because they have made a reputable name over the years,those they sold to when they were humble and wanted to make that name would ofcus come to their defense cus the item they sold them is still working till date..... Most not all electronic/phone sellers are living on past glory...........I bought a TV here 7 years ago from graceglory,worked perfectly till I switched to 86" straight from LG office.....please when buying electronics,go and see the product yourself,sit in their shop for 2 hours testing the Tv,because once you leave with a faulty TV,the trouble starts......
