Emmy450: Exactly Street football is a hit and miss style to learning football It's not comprehensive neither is it taught by experts. One just learns on the fly and pucka up bad habits -whether good or bad For example, Chuks excessive dribbling is a street mentality. Same with Simon moses too If our wingers were properly taught in a well funded academy, their decision making will be better. Just look at Vic Moses, Osayi Damuel and the likes 3 Likes |

Kog45: When looking at stats, I'm always wary of Wikipedia, because it can be edited. From a more reputable source(TM), Emmanuel Amunike played 39 games and scored just 8 goals. Nevertheless, I'm glad you compared him(Victor Moses) with people most Nigerians would consider as legends of Nigerian football and not Simon or Chukwueze. |

Blueelf:Finidi George na street o and understand the game wella.I disagree that Chuckwueze and Simon excessive dribbling was due to street mentality....Emma Olisadebe was damn street footballer who played jeun jeun football in the streets of Ilorin but within two years he led Poland to World Cup.Sunday Johnson was a street footballer in Kaduna but came down to Ilorin and in a year made Nigeria Sydney 2000 Olympic team as only outfield player.Injury failed him during Ajax trial.Emma and Sunday are friends who didn’t have any academy training but are solid footballers with sense of modern football....Street or no street, footballing mentality is in built and left for individual to harness his potential to the fullest.Remeber Simon Moses was unplayable during 2008 WC qualifiers. I agreed academy harness and bring good quality in a player with basic things but notwithstanding we still have guys out there who are real crosser of the ball and highly intelligent....a young chap told me Olosunsun playing ground shaped Osimehn 2 Likes |

kennysville:once again good points.. but I'm not talking about skills or how to dribble pass a player, those are talents and they are all over the street in Nigeria, we have a large pool of talented young footballers scattered in every area in Nigeria, even in farthest part of the north, but my point is a child in the street doesn't know the basics of football like a perfect "one two" passes, diagonal play, positional awareness etc. All this are learnt from academies or proper football team not on the street my bro.. 1 Like |

Blueelf:we just saw how osimhen a "word class player" was caught offside several times, largely because of uncalculated passes from chukweze and zaidu(ball speed didn't match his pace) this was corrected in Napoli were the players know when to release the ball(time his runs), but also positionalll awareness of osimhen was bad that day. |

Emmy450:Sir I enjoy your analysis but I disagree on Osimehn offsides positions even in Napoli it happens especially last season....I don’t want us to go too far on street or academy cuz it’s known facts that academy players would be more basic than street footballers but do you know that we have many academy players in top clubs that are not different from Chuckwueze and Zaidu. 2 Likes |

Emmy450: I strongly disagree sir I strongly disagree again no insults But we all watch soccer on tv ? Right we all have smartphones computers to do our own research 🔬 and understanding. I’m still standing by this your above statement can’t be far from the truth. My elder bro no enter university anyday but he’s an expert coder and computer programmer. Self taught My point is that all what they’ll teach you in an academy is already out there for you to learn yourself The difference between academy and street is opportunity. Skill wise none is superior no matter the training |
