Via Adepoju Tobi Samuel Ibrahim Gusau cleaning up Amaju Pinnick mess π Super Eagles Head Coach, Jose Peseiro, has been paid $210,000 (about N156,400,000), being three of the 10 months salary owed him by the Nigeria Football Federation. Head coaches of other national teams like the Super Falcons, U-23 Eagles, Flying Eagles, Falconets, Golden Eaglets and the Flamingos were paid between five and seven months salaries. 5 Likes |

COOL10: I have made it clear on this thread, the difference between Victor Moses wing role to that of the wingers we now parade. Victor Moses unique attributes makes him an excellent wingback, while Chukwueze and co are good wing forwards. Victor Moses have been tried on the roles Chukwueze and co now ply and was found not as productive. The stats are there for the lookup. 1 Like |

daveP: So singlehandedly running from defence to attack doing wonders, makes him a fantastic player? even at that, cite two instances were those has happened, i can recall one, and the circumstances that led to it, under similar circumstances, we have better runners, better dribblers and better finishers in our current wingers than we have in Victor Moses. The current S.E setup, is making our wingers produce less than they would. |

COOL10: I did not talk down on Victor Moses, he is one of the big names in Nigerian football. What i cannot bear to see, is someone making our current wingers look less, using different contexts to make comparisons that are not informed. Comparing Ademola Lookman to Victor Moses is another comparison you should not have brought up because both players are very different in what they bring to the table. Victor Moses has techniques that helps him contribute to defense, cross the ball etc, you can't say the same for Ademola Lookman, however, Ademola Lookman is a better goalscorer, has good anticipation and movement around the 18 yard box, those are some of the reasons why both are used differently on the pitch. Bright Osayi Samuel is a player you can actually compare to Victor Moses. |

Blueelf:Sir it's not about given option to go to Arsenal or Ajegunle playing ground :::Siasia,Amuneke,Ikpeba and Ighalo are AJ products and good we have two APOTY and ex man utd amongst... my point is simple we have players that went through academy and still lack basics skill that some believed Chuckwueze and Moses doesn't have and are Europeans. |

Kog45: 3/4 are worth the hype. They performed for club and country immensely, despite having some of the worst years of administration with nff. It's a different thing if someone is performing at club but can barely do much with the GWG. Perhaps he will come good again. But for now, the wingers we have don't spell terror to any african defender. And yes, i agrre totally. Anyone trying to underhype that set even after the afcon win is a joker. Individually those guys were game changers. |

I will like to give my take on the discussion about street versus academy footballers. Is it necessary? I think it is but I also feel real talent trumps academy football. Without the talent, no matter how much training a player gets, he can't out perform a talented player with ample amount of knowledge. Let us use Tammy Abraham, and Victor Osimhen. Victor Osimhen is street, while Tammy Abraham joined Chelsea around 8 years old and was well nurtured in the European art of play. Today, if you compare Osimhen and Abraham, Osimhen is more rated. What this entails is that, a street kid can possess more quality than a highly trained academy player. However, I believe Osimhen would have even become a far better player if he was raised in a quality academy. So, when it comes to Europe, comprehensive scouting goes on through the numerous well run academies, while in Nigeria, over 90% of the quality talents are not harnessed. So, if you hold a quality open screening exercise, you are bound to get lots of quality talents that will beat many explored players. However, if the talents are nurtured, they can even perform better. 4 Likes |
