maestro03: Hello @maestro03, a friend of mine indicated interest to join me and my wife in the Uk for my graduation. He will be coming from Canada though he's on a visit visa. Can I sponsor the three visa applications by myself? that is, myself, my wife and his? Or will he need to sponsor his by himself? He has a business here in Nigeria but doesn't pay himself a salary. I will appreciate some clarity in this regard. God bless. |

Dear all, Just found this group last night after combing the internet for resources to help me. My mum’s visit visa was rejected for the third time yesterday. I have attached the refusal screenshot. She’s a civil servant with a salary of 101k but the amount payable monthly after all deductions (pension, taxes and car loan) is 38k. She also has a side business that bring funds. We stated all this in the cover letter. The trip is to be sponsored by my elder brother who reside in Scotland. We attached car doc, house doc, letter of leave approval from her ministry. I attached my wife’s MAT B1 and our current rental agreement. We also included the picture of her business and other relevant doc. She was first refused in November 2022. We applied again in February using priority, but she was refused due to mistake we made in the amount she’s to spent in UK. However, when we got the mail yesterday, it was refusal. She was also refused. Now I am confused What’s the chances of her getting it again if we apply as she hasn’t visited any other countries before. We want her to help with the childbirth and all but seem time is running out now.

@Abiwealth. It would be helpful to state your position in UK. your mother or mother-in-law might not require lots of financial document if you or wife have sufficient funds/income to show you can manage her upkeep whilst she is with yourselves. you must present her application to appear that her assistance is needed for support before, during and after delivery. Submitting MatB1 is good but further evidence to justify she wouldn't be a burden can be made without intricate employment/income conundrum. In a nutshell, if you present her application well, she can have 20 or 100k it wouldn't matter except she wants to show sufficient money to buy a flight ticket if she will be responsible for it. I'm happy to respond to any queries. Just ask away. By the way, this is my 10cent contribution. 3 Likes |

LaShawn: your own status in the country can be a huge determinant for how much you need to input. if she doesn't need to pay for accommodation and her feeding, an amount sufficient to cover her flight expense as well as a small extra cash (eg £250 or more) would suffice. however the case would be different if she will be responsible for own a feeding/accommodation etc. Hope this helps. cheers 1 Like |

Segun889: Thank you so much. Yes, feeding and accommodation would be on me. Do I need to attach my own statement for that? (I would attach my tenancy). 1 Like |

AbiWealth: She needs to work on her finance. Saying she gets 900k income from family is a red flag. She needs show that 900k or the monthly equivalent of the money from a company bank account being paid into her savings account on a monthly basis. It will also help to indicate in the transaction I'd that it is monthly fund from whatever side hustle it may be 1 Like |

Thegamingorca: Thanks so much for your comment. I would definitely take time to apply this time so the account can be regulated to show the savings and salary. However, can one use a 3 month bank statement for her in this case? |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by AbiWealth(m): 6:16am On Mar 30, 2023 |
giselle237: Thanks Giselle. I’m thinking of applying for her again. But I’m afraid the 3 refusal might have a lot of effect on the new application even if we’re able to provide everything needs this time. Or it doesn’t matter? |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Thegamingorca(m): 7:34am On Mar 30, 2023 |
AbiWealth:a 3months statement to 6 months statement is okay to show that her circumstances has changed but I wouldn't advise that you reapply anytime soon so as not to hint out desperation on her part. Work on her ties to Nigeria. "A leave from work" can not be overemphasized and is key to her success. However you intend to frame this, the onus is on her to prove without any reasonable doubt that she is not an intending overstayer. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Thegamingorca(m): 7:45am On Mar 30, 2023 |
AbiWealth: Act instinctively, If something is looking too hot to touch again, it most certainly is. I'll advise to give a space of six months before applying again. With proper planning you can build her account to reflect that she can be able to support herself financially and especially make it look like her job here in Nigeria (whatever it may be) is more important to her than being in the UK indefinitely. You can also organise within that hiatus period to work on short trips to Ghana to boost her travel history 1 Like |

Cnachy: Sure you can. All you need to do is ensure you can demonstrate that you have the financial capacity to accommodate them for their entire stay: Finances & accommodation (be it a hotel, airbnb or your place). 1 Like |

Hello good people, I need an advice on the step to take in regards my application. I applied for the Uk dependent visa. My Husband is a global talent visa holder. I did my biometrics on March 10th 2023 and tomorrow will make it three weeks. I haven’t gotten any email yet. The last email from TLS was indicting that my application has been sent to the DMC. I also tracked online but nothing. I am not sure what the wait time is right now but will you advice that I send a paid email or wait a little longer? Thank you and God bless you as you take time to reply me.🙏🏽 1 Like |

Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Segun889: 7:16pm On Mar 30, 2023 |
LaShawn: You're welcome. attach your tenancy agreement. you can attach your payslip or bank statement. PS: although it's good if you submit your payslip or bank statement, it wouldn't necessarily be a cause for rejection. Make sure she also submits are regular bank statement to evidence she can afford her flight ticket. |

maestro03: Good day all, Please I need advise. My brother is in the uk. He graduated last year and has started working and has a 3year working permit. His graduation ceremony has just been fixed and he has gotten letter of invitation from the school for Me and my other brother to attend. I am a PR in Canada and I already have a uk visa. My other brother is a post graduate student in Nigeria. I need advice on sponsorship for my other brother. 1. Should I be his sponsor? I can send his flight and stipend money to his naira account, and give him a letter of sponsorship with my ID, payslips and bank statements. 2. Should my brother in uk be his sponsor ? 3. Should both of us be his sponsor? Maybe me for flights and my brother in uk for accommodation? Please I need advice on making his visa application airtight! My other bro in Nigeria is 30, he has one study visa denial from Canada in 2016. Never had s visa or travelled out of Nigeria before. No job, still studying. Thanks alot for any help. @justwise @maestro03 |
