One thing that excites me about the next government is, it’s going to be headed by a member of the most educated ethnic group in the country, one with enough intellectual mouthpieces, one that can’t be trampled upon by any subnormal stereotype artist or bigot from another group.

Unlike the North, the South-West geopolitical zone possesses the media firepower to counter and neutralise any sectional propaganda or conspiracy to pathologise their ethnic identity and heritage as the Fulani have been under Buhari. No Yoruba media proprietor would sit back and let you caricature their ethnicity as you did the Fulani, no matter their opposition to Tinubu.

If also you think Yoruba intellectuals and influencers would sit at the same table as the fascist characters whose only quality is the capability to insult and dispense fake news, the brain-setting reality awaiting you may hit you like a thunderbolt.

Wole Soyinka‘s trending dissension with a certain lousy mob masquerading as change agents is just the first spark of the reality ahead, and we are here for it. There’s a thick line between patriotism and anarchism. Gimba Kakanda

I had this discussion with a friend on Tuesday. When I told him that unlike Buhari's govt when the populace were at a loss and waiting for Buhari to speak, There will be more than enough media people for Tinubu to counter any propaganda fire for fire

And if you think you will start shading and insulting Yoruba's like you did for Fulani's because of Buhari, then I say be my guest

I trust my people, they are not the type to spare words. They will dish it back equal measure shaken together. Even Yoruba's who didn't vote for Tinubu when they start perceiving insults will clap back like during the case of GRV

For the "LP from top to bottom" crew: You should more concerned about the disintegration of the party from within.
https://punchng.com/breaking-lp-crisis-police-take-over-secretariat-nwc-appoints-acting-chairman/

LP Secretariat has been taken over by the Police and yet there's no analysis about what this means to the defence Peter Obi seems to be marshalling in court.

Regardless of how this is resolved, the optics don't bode well for a party posturing as the alternative away from the norm.

These are the more important issues. The wranglings favour the APC more than any other group.

Na APC handiwork 😎

Everybody goes to public school in Nigeria at a subsidised rate

All the researchers in Graduate programs abroad contributing to the scientific advancement of those countries are all ingrates who despise the fact that education is cheap here. Go and check average nonmedical student debt in the USA and Canada

You won't talk about the terrible working conditions, poor remuneration, disheartening government policies that are causing people (not just doctors, but people in general) to seek greener pastures abroad.

So did Buhari reduce the salary, or stop paying them?

Nigeria got worse, and people discovered that they can earn much more than they can here.

Was it not here that Saudi came to conduct interviews for doctors, and the place full well well?

People have discovered that with their knowledge, they can earn much more. Bank Managers, Directors, Oil workers, Business analysts that earn well with mouth watering allowances still dey japa. So....?

The lawmakers are simply fighting for over 150 million Nigerians that cannot japa or fly themselves out when they are sick..
The lawmakers are skirting around the systemic problems facing the health sector and the country by extension. The level of japa we have now is as bad because of the APC's mismanagement in the past 8 years, and banning doctors from traveling out will not fix that problem.

This quick-fix policy that's being made a law has long-term implications which I'm sure our legislators haven't bothered to consider. When they're done with doctors I only wonder who else will fall in the chopping block.

The people who sponsored this bill and their families do not use public hospitals.

You can't write primaries or even go to nysc camp if you don't have a permanent license, so how will this affect residency training?

I don't even know which ridiculousness to tackle first.

People think this will stop at doctors.
You want to allow this stand and you think it won't extend to nursing, law, pharmacy, engineering, even IT related courses.

Again everybody who has gone and graduated from FG universities will be affected by this.

Politicians should be banned as well from seeking medical assistant abroad. The money they want to waste abroad they should spend it in Nigeria . They should also enjoy the cheap and subsidized medical system they are making noise with.

The job of a president isn't to counter propaganda for propaganda. The people that wanted Buhari to speak wanted him to speak on issues, not necessarily to do propaganda vs propaganda. You seem to be rejoicing that Tinubu will essentially replicate Buhari's media absenteeism and get more of a pass because there'd be people to counter demands that he makes himself available with propaganda.

Apart from that, that bill would most likely be a lifesaver to me, and millions of Nigerians.

Obj understood this, which is why we got CONMESS back then.

That is how you counter japa, by making sure the medical professionals get paid properly. These jokers got touched during covid, when we were all trapped in Nigeria but in an extreme case of niggerdom, have completely forgotten and failed to learn.

The entire west is reviewing their relationship with China and their careless siting of factories for anything and everything over there, but we are still failing to invest in our own health care even with lessons in blood

Bros people spend 10 years in medical school through no fault of theirs.

We dey here dey see Nezzjnr and wetin do am for Madonna University. A friend of mine in camp spent 12 years in IMSU.

You go read with rechargable lantern for hostel wey no get light and water. Mosquito and bedbug go deal with you mercilessly

when you're doing anatomy dissection the specimens are so bad that you don't even know what parts you're seeing. For book na red, for body na pitch black.

One day they'll come and announce that your school has lost accreditation or that teaching hospital workers are on indefinite strike and months and years will just be passing in limbo.

You'll come out and work like a slave In the name of House job and during NYSC they'll send you to one village that has thatch houses and can't even provide face masks and gloves in their health centres.

You will pay bribe 500-750k to get residency slot that will pay you 250k wey you go dey pay NARD dues, dey read for part 1, dey take calls. And life still dey go on, them go dey hail you Doc Doc for house. Expecting you to shoulder certain responsibilities and maybe even start your own family.

You go dey run PP after punishing hospital schedule because you have to survive.

Then one idiot with yellow teeth that has never worked a day in his life and has gone from SUG politics to National Assembly will come out from nowhere and come and tell you to give back to the nation.

Other professions are doing BDSM na, their hands are tied and they can't give back.
