I think given the set of constraints you mentioned (The DOHA Agreement, Trump's Force Reduction to 2500, the fall and running away of the Government, The 5,000 Taliban soldiers Trump released from Prison, and having to stand up a vetting procedure for Afghani's because the Trump admin didn't) it was a VERY successful operation. In 50 years, it'll probably be taught in Military Schools. The 12 soldiers that died were more a consequence of how the military sees those soldiers as expendable. And I'm sure if you asked a General privately, they would say that those losses were more than acceptable given the size of that operation.

The Media wants to act like somehow, because bad things happen, those bad things were avoidable as if in War the enemy doesn't get a say.

Trump had left 2500 Troops in Afghanistan. So, Biden Really had 2 strategies.
1.) Fly many many many more troops to be able to hold areas just to retreat more peacefully. (He had to fly 5000 in just to hold the airport). They would have probably lost more than 12 soldiers fighting an insurgency.
2.) Keep the numbers Trump left and do what they did.
