A very unpopular opinion here. How can USA let a drug baron go scot free? Even Pablo Escobar was hunted by the DEA, CIA. Chapo Guzman is in jail and most well drug dealers are locked up or died in jail. A country that lock black men for smoking igbo or selling weed easily will suddenly let Tinubu go scot free. I beg to differ especially in Ronald Reagan / George H. Bush Era where the slightest drug offense will send one straight to prison especially if you are African or Black. If Tinubu was convicted for drug charges, then he should have been locked up long time ago like many Naijas. Being accused of a crime does not make a person guilty automatically. Tinubu beat his case plus He has visited the USA several times. Most wanted fugitive will never think of going back to the US. Hushpuppi is locked up, Tinubu was never locked up. Please know the differences. 4 Likes |

The court papers said he is guilty and a penalty was handed to him. You can't decide a penalty for a court. Moreover, there's what is called a plea bargain, where the culprit is promised a lower penalty in exchange for more information on the bigger fishes in the syndicate. So, invariably Tinubu sold out his men to escape jail. 4 Likes 1 Share |

JILF:I'll say don't even bother. Their whole case about the election and their imaginary stolen mandate rests solely on proving that Tinubu is guilty. So I don't see how you're going to have any reasonable argument with them on the issue 4 Likes |

He is guilty and the US has never asked for his extradition? You guys should not hate a man so much that you shut your eyes and ears to the truth and sound reasoning na... I don't like Tinubu, but my dislike for him will NEVER make me lose my sense of reasoning. The OP just raised a valid point here. You guys keep pushing and urging Obi on until his dirty secrets come to the open some day... never trust politicians; they are all the same. 5 Likes |

Leave them alone in their fantasy world where anything Tinubu is bought and paid for, and he controls everybody even the US judicial system, and UK immigration lol After May 29, they will all be alright. 2 Likes |

mployer: Even snitches or those who rat spend jail time, Henry Hill , Frank Lucas spend jail time despite singing like a bird to the Fed. Jail time might not be lengthy but they always spend a decent time in jail. So your point is not valid especially in the era of just say no to drugs. Even if Tinubu snitch or ratted his boys out . Tinubu would have been 1. A marked man with enemies who will need Witness protection program, 2. Spend a reduced time in jail or 3. Be deported from the US where he can never return. 3 Likes |

JILF: Tinubu was in Nigeria when the case was being investigated. He would need extradition and that would lead to more cost, so the prosecutors settled for a plea bargain. His accomplices were arrested and jailed in the US. 2 Likes 1 Share |

mployer: Then Tinubu would have been arrested whenever he visited USA , waited for an assigned Court date and been proven guilty or innocent. A prime example is Hushpuppi was extradited and invested even when he was in Dubai. Money is never an issue for prosecutor who is investigated a known drug baron for drug offense and is facing extradition- another invalid point again. 1 Like |

JILF: It seems you choose not to understand. They reduced his punishment to just a fine after a plea bargain, probably to divulge information about his accomplices already in the US. He is not a wanted person in the US but he is an ex-convict in their eyes, reason Biden didn't congratulate him. Not every convict goes to prison, punishment varies, depending on offense and bargain. 1 Like |

It's only a morally bankrupt nation that will want a man that is associated with drug trafficking to be their president. Nigerians are not totally morally bankrupt. 1 Like |

mployer: Not with major drug offenses especially during Reagan/Bush/Cinton era. Even if he paid a fine and avoided prison, he would have deported immediately from the US and been faced a ban from coming to US. Most drug dealers with case similar with Tinubu are either in Jail or died in jail or deported after jail even after cooperating with the Fed. Tinubu has visit the US several times . I know after May 29, Tinubu even eventually go to the White House and shake hand with Joe Biden. 1 Like |

While the court confirmed it had cause to believe the money in the bank accounts were the proceeds of drug trafficking, Mr Tinubu and the others denied the allegations, and the court never made a final order about the money's origins. Instead, Mr Tinubu, who was not personally charged over the money, reached a compromise settlement with authorities and forfeited $460,000. JILF: Lol you have time responding to the guy. You think he does not know about what you’re saying? They are just using that to troll don’t take them too serious. How can any sane person say USA feds will just release you with pat on your back and say “Go friend and pay us part of the money” to someone that carried drug like cocaine/heroin? If they have any evidence against him that he truly trafficked heroin, he will be extradited and tried and they will find a way to jail him eventually. Even if the argument is that he wasn’t in USA then, they will never stop looking for him let alone the Democrats inviting him for their convention in 2008 and he stepped his foot in USA. Don’t always waste too much time on Obidient. They are called headless mob for a reason. 2 Likes |
