That is a very long time to not have received any update. Has your spouse been contacted by the ABH? A friend of mine is also waiting for a lawyer and spouse interview was also in October, but he’s been contacted by ABH during the time.

No there are different.

Verification complete email shows your identity have been established and all documents are verified and shows no any discrepancies.


Approval Mail is a request for you to submit your passport, Travel health insurance and travel date.

Just like every other city, rent varies depending on city location and say the company renting out the apartment.

The kind of job you do or the amount you earn are also key for house companies in giving you an apartment.

Others here could also share from their experiences, but I think It could be a little challenging getting an apartment when you haven't arrived in person in Germany. Except like in your case where the school is trying to help you (I believe you're coming for studies).

With this amount stated here, this is quite a high rent for a 2 rooms in Hannover (from the little I know) however anything is possible.

It's not possible, even to send Passport across boarder is not allowed.

So don't be deceived. Apply directly via the embassy website and wait jeje.

I'm aware there are more expensive accomodations but I was thinking it should be possible to rent an apartment/room within 25% of stipend. This is almost like one third (33.33%) of my stipend already!

Yes, I guess the rent is a bit on the high side. I have seen rent as low as EUR 250 for one occupant so are they saying it is better to rent two separate rooms? Of course I know there are other more expensive single rooms but It should be possible to get a room around EUR 600 or less with no additional charges for 2 occupants.

I think it depends on the following among others:
1: How modern the apartment is especially in terms of amenities.
2: The location within the city also matters. If it’s quite inward, rent is usually cheaper.

Your overall goal should influence where/what you eventually settle for. You could stay away from the major parts of the city, get a decent apartment and still be able to commute to school in good time.
As you search, please beware of scammers even on “verified”/“reputable” sites and please as always, if it’s too good to be true, it definitely is. Before making any payment, it’s always better to see the apartment in person, that way, you can put things in perspective.

Exactly, i could vividly remember, when the lawyer came for my spouse. After few days he ask her to take a picture of an institution in my state for him ( that it's meant for someone verification).

call them twice in a week from monday to thursday around 9am in the morning, explain you ve not hear from lawyer. You will thank God soon by doing so.
