Good day, all, I just got admission into Georgian college for September 2023. So far I don't think I have seen a lot of Nigerians attend the college (Please correct me if I am wrong or if you know Nigerians that have attended this school).

1. I will like to know reviews about the school and the learning environment in general
2. What are the challenges faced in the city? ( Downtown Barrie, Canada Province: Ontario)
3. How easy is it to find accommodation and a job in this city and what is the price range to get student accommodation off campus in this area? Also, what is the estimated cost of living for a student in this area.?
4. What are the advantages of attending this college and living in this province in general?
5. Any other useful information will be highly appreciated.

Thank you.

horlabeesie:
Hello everyone, please I want to clarify something. I plan to apply for a family of 3.

My husband sold a part of his land to come up with 80% of our POF. My mum gifted me 10% and 10% is from me. When he sold the land, the payment was made directly into my bank account (I hear this is where we made a big mistake).

My husband and I are gainfully employed, and will present all our employment details, pension, pay slips and any other necessary document. My husband also has a small business he runs on the side.

We plan to present 3 bank statements which are both of our salary bank statements to show proof of employment, and the account we intend to use for POF, which is also my personal account.

Now, this is my question, is it better to say I am self sponsored but with support from my husband, backed by a letter of support, as my husband’s account balance won’t show huge final balance in it? Or is it better to say he is my sponsor since 80% of the funds came from selling part of his asset?

Please I’ll appreciate any advise I can get as to how to better present this to the VO.
It is not a mistake, u are a couple and y’all are one. Just explain it’s proceed from d same of land jointly owned or owned by ur husband and u decided to receive the payment into ur account since u are the primary applicant and it’s a self sponsor. Don’t panic u are in line. Just do proper and convincing explanation in ur SOP. Don’t lie abt anything
I assume u are d primary applicant, if so fine if not, it’s still self sponsor ur a couple u are applying together.
Peace!

What do you mean? Perhaps, you could provide more context. Working remotely from anywhere is generally good. Without more info, it will be difficult to give specific answers

Good evening guys. Regarding the family member representative form (IMM5713), am I to download and sign the form manually then scan or this is not needed?

2) Barrie is ~ 90-100Km away from Toronto (like 1hr drive or so). Generally, Ontario (like other parts of Canada) is safe and should not be faced with security challenges. I think Barrie is part of GTA, so you can apply for jobs in Toronto and use GO Transit. That means if you work in Toronto, you can be using GO transit to your city (again >1hr journey to-fro).

3) You can get accommodation via Kijiji or MarketPlace. The good thing is, accommodation in that city will be (relatively) cheaper than in Toronto or Scarborough, for example (so, there's a tradeoff). No specific amount because things are now so expensive. You can budget 800-1200/per month (more or less) for a studio apartment (and you never know, you may be lucky to get a one-bed apartment within that range- but no guarantee).

4) Good city, easy path to PR after your graduation (via express entry, PNP), close proximity to Toronto and GTA (for jobs).

Good luck!

1. FORM CAC 7 should have your name as a director. You can also get a letter from the bank stating that you are a signatory to the company's account.
2. She should write the board resolution on financing your education. The resolution should be written on the company’s letterhead, signed and stamped.

Don’t forget to include the following documents to show business legitimacy:

Certificate of Incorporation
Tax clearance cert, if available
1 yr bank statement
You can get an attestation from the company’s supplier or clients depending on business operations
Waybills, receipts and invoices.
Letter from the company’s financial institution stating the account is in good standing

Note that a company should be financially buoyant to sponsor an employee.

Hello Gurus,

Please what do you advise as the minimum POF for a spouse and 3 kids?

I know about living expenses of 4K for the spouse and 3k each for the kids. Please what can one budget for Travel and other expenses and the minimum that you believe will be okay as POF for these SOWP and VV applications?

Hello guys please i need help
My second application has just been refused based on financial situation.
My first application was refused for the same reason. And the gcms said there was no proof of relationship between me and my uncle.
In this second application I attached my mothers birth certificate and a family picture then a picture of my mom and my uncle when he was still in Nigeria. I paid one year school fees since my first application. In the second application i made my uncle transfer 10k cad to my account and also made my dad transfer 4million naira to my account and backed it up with deed of gift. My uncle also has 30k cad in his account

Is there any new thing i can do to make my next application strong enough?

Note my course is a two year course.
Or is it possible for it to fly if i pay my two years tuition?

Add pictures of you and your uncle together, to prove you are close, add his birth certificate and passport to prove your uncle is part of your family and who he says he is. Proof he transferred the money to you and in the sponsor letter he states his relationship and dedication to you and your education in Canada that his resources are available for your educational success as his favourite nephew.

If a gift deed is needed, I will leave it to the gurus in the house.

Sorry about the refusal.

You may need to get the GCMS notes to know the actual cause. The POF appears okay, maybe there were lumpsums that were not explained in the account. I like that you are ready to fire again. I will just advise that you get your notes so you can tackle the issues frontally.

Thank you for your reply… All funds were duly explained with documents. the 4 million was backed with a gift deed from my dad and the 10k cad i attached the receipt of the wire transfer from my uncle

My uncles passport was attached to the application with my mother’s birth certificate and all those was clearly stated in the sponsorship letter because when i ordered the gcms note at first it says proof of relationship so i tackled that with enough details. Maybe i pay the full 2 years school fees? I am about to finish my first semester online as well

Good day everyone. Hope you're doing well.

I would appreciate if you could give me some advice on my visa condition.

I applied February and had my biometrics done the same month. Since then, I haven't received a medical request. What do you suggest I do?
