Nigerian Constitution On Dual Citizenship And The Office Of The President by Birdbyrde440: 8:09am On Apr 22, 2023
It is important to note that the NIGERIAN CONSTITUTION does not prohibit DUAL CITIZENSHIP. However, Section 66(1)(a) of the Constitution stipulates that any person who has VOLUNTARILY ACQUIRED CITIZENSHIP OF ANOTHER COUNTRY, apart from Nigeria, SHALL NOT BE QUALIFIED FOR ELECTION INTO THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT.

Therefore, if a Nigerian citizen holds dual citizenship and is interested in contesting for the office of the President, he or she must renounce their foreign citizenship to be eligible to contest.

IMPORTANT QUESTIONS FOR NIGERIANS TO ASK:

i. Is the news about the President-elect having dual citizenship true or fake news?
I can authoritatively confirm to you that the news is 100% true.

ii. Was INEC aware of president-elect dual citizenship status before announcing him winner?

iii. What are the implications of having a Guinean as head of state? Whose interest does he serve?

iv. Can he be sacked by the Supreme court?
Yes, absolutely.

It is important to note that the Nigerian Constitution does not prohibit dual citizenship. However, Section 66(1)(a) of the Constitution stipulates that any person who has voluntarily acquired the citizenship of another country, apart from Nigeria, shall not be qualified for the election to the office of President.

Do you know that Tinubu the entire southern state including Rivers state...

The only reason Tinubu is president elect is due to INEC rigging strategies...

Obi performed richly in the SW states?
LOL.
U and I know that Tinubu is going to clean SW, ur target and prayer has always been NC and SS, u were hoping that Atiku and Kwankwaso will destroy his chances in NW and NE because u all know Obi had no chance in NW and NE.
Now that Tinubu made a strong outing in NW and NE also NC against u people's calculations, u have started weeeping that he didn't win anywhere, these deIusions wón't make Obi prèsîdéñt.

If d real results are announced, do u think Obi will have up to 6 million votes?
Take it or leave it, Obi and his followers made it a free run for Tinubu, Obi was ñèvèr going to win in SW or the North.
Even if d election is run 10 times, Obi will still be 3rd position with dwindling number of votes.

This is a question of whether the Constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria is being violated. It has absolutely nothing to do with Obidients

Everything should not be subjected to political brick bats

The Jagaban Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu won the election, now he is preparing for the tough task of running our blessed country. Why would he be up and down campaigning for something he already won?

I wouldn’t call what Peter Obi is doing bold, not with that whiny crying voice of his.

I thought I was going to find any justifiable evidence from the public on why Tinubu shouldn't be jailed, however, I only noticed one thing; that the followers of a person are a direct reflection of his personality. I have never for once seen Tinubu answer a question appropriately, so I don't expect his followers to do the same.
