Aquila99: From where did you learn that a state governor must build the roads in a state capital to a certain standard, before the governor starts to build the roads in other cities and rural areas in the state? U continue to expose yourself as an heediot. Hope is from Orlu senatorial district, I am from Orlu urban LGA, and you are unarguably from Owerri area. You argue for reelection of Hope Uzodinma while you see me as against his reelection. Does that not tell you much that Uzodinma is not addressing the needs of some areas of the state, and thus arresting the economic development of the entire state? 3 Likes |

NwekereNdoki: Oweri-Okigwe and Owerri-Orlu roads service Owerri mainly - 90%. After Anara, the Owerri-Okigwe road begins to be deserted because nothing tangible of government is in Okigwe. Okigwe trades with Umuahia, not Owerri. Same as Owerri-Orlu road; after Umuaka, the road gets empty; nothing tangible of government still exists in Orlu. Orlu trades with Onitsha, not with Owerri. Most of the little government establishmrnts that were in Orlu have been relocated to Owerri by Hope Uzodinma in his war against Orlu. The once blooming markets in Orlu have dried up from the activities of Hope Uzodinma and his gunmen beginning 2020. 1 Like |

Imo Leads other States in Entrepreneurship Development SKillUpImo Project, others drive positive ranking The South East state of Imo has ranked number one in terms of digital innovation and entrepreneurship development. The new State of Entrepreneurship Index Report for Nigeria by the FATE Institute of the popular FATE Foundation placed Imo atop other states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Public Relations Officer (PRO), Imo State Ministry of Digital Economy & E-Government, Sandra Opara, disclosed this in a statement. The entrepreneurship index is a yearly measure of state of entrepreneurship development in Nigeria. Imo State swept the points in the five parameters considered in the study that produced the report. State-level Entrepreneurial Index Ranking by Fate Foundation State-level Entrepreneurial Index Ranking (CREDIT: Fate Foundation) The parameters include business performance; skills acquisition, innovation and digital technology adoption, perception of the future opportunities and enabling business environment. Each parameter carries 20 points. According to the report, Imo scored 17, 16, 18, 22 and 8 respectively, recording an aggregate Index Score of 82. With 82 aggregate points, Imo gapped the first runner-up, Bauchi, by 10 points. While Bauchi scored 72 points, Delta scored 70. In the report, Kaduna, Lagos, Rivers, Oyo, Ogun, and Kano were ranked 8th, 13th , 15th 16th, 17th and 21st respectively, while FCT managed 36th and Taraba 37th positions. After the top three, there are 12 states with between 60 and 69 points; 15 states within 50 and 59; three between 40 and 49 while the last- Kogi, FCT and Taraba scored between 36 and 39 points. Imo SKillUpImo - Dr. Chimezie Amadi Dr. Chimezie Amadi, the Commissioner, Digital Economy & E-Government, Imo State Commenting on the report, Dr. Chimezie Amadi, the Commissioner for Digital Economy & E-Government in Imo, expressed satisfaction that the digital entrepreneurship initiative for the youths was yielding positive result. “We are happy that our modest work in Imo State, via SkillUpImo Project and other laudable people-centric initiatives, under the leadership of His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, has placed the state on the top of the national log of the State-Level Entrepreneurship Index ranking published by the FATE Institute,” he said. According to him, SkillUpImo alone, in particular, aims to train 300,000 youths in the state, adding that the implementation has been upbeat, with 5,000 trained in various digital skills, while the ministry targets 15,000 in the second Cohort. He expressed the governor’s commitment to driving greater entrepreneurship and creating enabling environment for such to thrive, saying that already, big organisations and tech giants were partnering Imo in the drive, as beneficiaries of the scheme, who had been gainfully employed or self-employed, were contributing to the state’s economic development. Adenike Adeyemi, FATE Foundation’s Executive Director, said: “Given that entrepreneurship is key to the development of any economy through its contribution to job creation, revenue generation and improved citizens’ welfare, this index provides quantifiable information that can help policy makers to assess interventions against a set of indicators – business performance, skill acquisition, innovation and technology adoption, perception of opportunities and an enabling business environment.” 3 Likes

Whenever you envious ediots from imo state run out of anything to criticize, you guys will jump to another thing. Do you have any rural road in imo state that's dualised? This is a rural road and it is even quite wide unlike rural roads in imo state that are dilapidated almost all through. jamjo: 1 Like |

I gave you a useful advice that you should pay some attention on your state. There are so many issues ravaging your imo state that should concern you but rather you guys would always ignore it and camp here everyday just to scrutinise every single post here. Leave igbo or SE, let everyone for once face his or state of origin. jamjo: 1 Like |

IMO ECONOMIC EXPANSION The era of Imo as the economic hub, east of the Niger is here as the State is set to experience further economic boast with the proposed Orashi Oil and Gas Free Trade Zone in Imo State. A free trade zone entails less restrictions, less taxation and as such, no limitation to business activities that will rise to economic limelight, improved revenue and greater development across the region and the State. This comes with great job opportunities for the Imo population and will surely open up new economic ventures. This is the brewing expectations as the Shared Prosperity administration of His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, seeks to create an Oil and Gas Free Trade Zone across Oguta, Ohaji/Egbema and Ngor Okpala Local Government Areas. The Orashi Oil and Gas Free Trade Zone, which will be flagged off with the dredging of the Oguta Lake and Orashi Waterways today by Vice President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, will give rise to multiple industrial ventures with multiplying effects on subsectors. Beyond the geographical benefits of dredging the waterways, there is a bigger economic turnaround and venture for the State, the region and the nation at large. Multinationals and a large number of incorporations established around the region and the State for diverse economic and commercial activities. Oh yeah! One may wonder how the Government intends to handle the resulting effects of gas flaring. But with gas gathering, collation and processing centers, these are eliminated to guarantee a clean and healthy environment. It is expected to have sufficient depth to berth small to medium size vessels, and provide an evacuation corridor for gas and other products processed and /or produced with the Oil & Gas Free Trade Zone for sale to neighboring states as well as export purposes. I am full of enthusiasm for businesses that will spring up, in the region and the State, with the establishment of the Orashi Oil and Gas Free Trade Zone and I encourage my Imo people, as business-minded as we are, to key into this great opportunity and harvest bountifully.
