All hands should be on deck to keep Nigeria one and stable.

A political handshake from the South to the North should be encouraged.

God bless Nigeria and Nigerians 🤗❤👍

That is what has happened by the north working for Tinubu. Perhaps you mean a political handshake for the west to east.

Why didn't these intellectuals you are talking about raise their voices when people were being chased and killed not to vote in Lagos? Somebody was stabbed in the face, while some others lost their lives. Heck, many people were disenfranchised from voting because they came from a particular region of the country. Did you see Soyinka condemn all these? No you people won't see all these. But when Obidients talk they are termed toxic and dangerous. Stop using the word "intellectual" to support people who support oppression. The professors that connived with political leaders to rig elections, are they also not intellectuals? Make una rest abeg!!
imagine Yakubu is also a prof ooo an intellectual

My post is for intelligent Nigerians who are smart enough to distinguish between persons who have the will power to make the country great and those whose only interest is to enlarge their estate through suppressive, subversive and criminal means
Why did Anambra not become great after Obi ruled the state for 8 years?

Anambarians became more poorer under his watch

He couldn't even increase Anambra State IGR by up to 20% throughout his tenure as the Governor

Obi is the most vile and destructive political dingbat in the history of Nigeria politics. If I were Soyinka I would have hired a very muscular bodyguard that would help me slam the door in his face.

Then you can't become like Soyinka with this mentality. Talents alone doesn't make people rise, character plays a huge role too and elder statesmen like Soyinka and even the President-elect himself know how people should be treated when they come visiting you one-on-one.

Politics and business are similar, they're not for children-minded folks.

Any political group that wants to drive change of political order in a democracy MUST tolerate contrary opinions, voices of dissent and acts of opposition.

The current Nigeria democracy is no doubt benefiting from highly active and youthfully vociferous opposition that Obi-dients provide. However, their lack of tolerance to slight deviation of opinions is TOXIC and DANGEROUS.

This negative attitude will always be RESISTED by every true intellectual. The reason is very simple: intellectualism and flow/exchange of ideas flourish when every shade of opinion is heard. Intellectual abhor herd mentality.

So when intellectuals like Prof Soyinka, Prof. Soludo and others like them stoutly detest and vehemently counter Obi-dients and their lack of tolerance, you will appreciate where they are coming from.

Change of tactics needed and I am happy Peter Obi himself is leading the way.

They don't understand the concept of agreeing to disagree... That's their biggest flaw.

What an elder can see while sitting down, a juvenile won't see even if standing on a baobab tree.

His quietness is not to expose chimamanda's foolishness. He can't join issues with a girl that is not even old enough to be his granddaughter. There is wisdom in silence. It speaks volume. It is not a sign of cowardice. You can see that Chimamanda quick ran to romance the prof. in a picture some days after the interview.

But I think there's something fundamentally wrong with Nigeria, good people with good intentions are not given the chance, I don't know why
Peter Obi failed because he isn’t good enough. Aside the fact that he is a mediocre, religious and tribal bigot, he failed woefully as governor

God bless the conscious intellectuals. Thoughtless herd mentality is what spreads violence and chaos in a society, just jumping in with the crowd without sound reason, and discernment. Our opinions must be based on reason, logic and common sense, not trying to use media bullying, propanganda and abusing those with contrary opinion. Prove to me that your opinion is the most valid, this is the way to build sound societies, not trying to force everyone to think and feel like you, that was why Sir Soyinka tagged them fascists, and he was right on that. This particular characteristic of obidients is why intellectuals withdrew support for them, and you need intellectuals to win.

Here Peter Obi demonstrates what so many having been saying from the start of his presidential bid: more than anything else, his rabidly intolerant supporters were the ones who cost him any chance of victory, by alienating everyone who wasn't in perfect alignment with every single one of their opinions. Just compare and contrast the vicious insults and personal attacks they unleashed upon Soyinka's head with this statement by Obi in which he forthrightly acknowledges what all his ignorant and bilious supporters couldn't: that Wole Soyinka paid an unimaginably high personal cost for the Igbos during the civil war, and has more than earned his right to speak out on public affairs without fear of frothing mobs calling him every foul name in the book.

High personal cost indeed,at least he survived to write about his experience made money and fame from it unlike millions that paid with their lives including his friend and fellow writer Chris Okigbo.

Bro, make una move on. Obi is already preparing to come back in four years time.
There is nothing presidential about Obi, he is not even brilliant, a proven mediocre who finished 3rd in philosophy. After Tinubu is done with is tenure by Gods grace, the ever brilliant and articulate Shettima will take the reins from there

He's preparing to take charge, and form a national united government, after being declared by the courts as the duly elected President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

You're most likely right. It's obvious that two forces are fighting for the soul of Nigeria:

On one side is the criminals or cabals backing Tinubu. Some outgoing governors mostly from the North, bigots, Islamic religious fanatics and some rogue businessmen both local and international are behind it. This group are only concerned about their immediate gains and even if Nigeria burns is not their concern. They are the villains!

On the other side is a passionate group of elder statesmen and past leaders who understand that Nigeria is in grave danger. They are the ones backing Obi. They include Obasanjo, TY Danjuma, Edwin Clark, Ezeife, Church leaders, Nigerian diasporas, Nigerian youths and social media influencers. These ones are more concerned about the general wellbeing of Nigeria. They want a better future for themselves and the coming generations. They believe that Nigeria has the potential to be great if not for corruption and tribalism. These ones are the heroes!

The two sides are fighting to death in mortal combat. They're ready to fight dirty and use any means to bring the other down and crush them completely. The judiciary is the referee and how they officiate the match will determine which side wins.

However, one thing is certain. It's a winner takes all. Any side that comes out victorious will change Nigeria completely:

If the villains win, it will be the beginning of the end of Nigeria. They will unleash corruption, bigotry, religious fanaticism, crude violence and inhuman treatment of the masses. There will be a push back of sorts. The economy will collapse and ultimately lead to a violent revolution or bitter civil war that will cause breakaway republics to emerge.

If the heroes become victorious, it will be the beginning of national healing. The economy will gradually bounce back. Corruption will reduce drastically. Investments will pour into Nigeria. Nigeria will regain its respect in the committee of nations.

The judiciary decides...
