Barclays would lend to someone on any kind of visa, even a Tier 4 student visa @ 90% LTV i.e. you only need a 10% deposit. You must have lived in the UK for a minimum of 2 years. Minimum gross income of £25,000 7 Likes |

Skipton? If they are offering 100%, 10% for less than 2yrs residency shouldn’t be an issue. labiola: |

I have a question pls. If you are using isusu as a means of raising money for house deposit, we know it comes In bulk , how do you explain it to the mortgage guys ? I mean the inflow as it’s not salary savings. Also if you sell a property In Naija or move part of the fund from Naija, how do you explain it ? Would you call two of them as gifts ? |

mex551: Simply provide evidence....... That's all you need to do...... With the osusu, simply highlight deductions from your account and payment flow back..... 3 Likes 1 Share |

Zahra29: Won't this 100% mortgage drive up demand thereby leading to increase in house prices? |

mex551: Payslips and bank statements dating back 3 months is the norm, so time your transaction such that the inflow won't reflect on your statement in that 3 month window. |

deept: I believe it will. Also if HTB comes back. This govt is heavily invested in keeping house prices high, and as the market is stalling due to interest rate rises, new measures are being brought in to shore up it up. |

Zahra29: The way these guys think. You would think they cared about the ftb and want them to achieve home ownership but like you pointed out aim is to keep house prices high for whatever reasons. Then to avoid or reduce backlash they come out with the only available for people who have a history of rent payment. Also using that as a some sort of hegde against potential defaulters via means of a 'pseudo credit check'- if you can pay rent you can pay mortgage. |

Lexusgs430: Still not a first time buyer o. Any person that has owned a property, anywhere in the world, no matter how they came about it, is not a first time buyer. https://www.theguardian.com/money/2022/feb/28/will-inheriting-a-house-affect-my-status-as-a-first-time-buyer The only way, apparently, is if the inheritance was never transferred to them personally but was maybe sold by the executors/administrators of the deceased's estate. But if you have ever been registered as owner of a property - no dice. |
Re: Living In The UK: Property,Mortgage And Related by Nobody: 8:34am On May 14, 2023 |
deept: It's not that they don't care about first time buyers. A crash in house prices would devastate home owners and be a big blow to the economy as a whole. It's a balancing act - not an agenda to keep people from being able to buy homes. 1 Like |

On FTB, it'll be interesting knowing how much interface and how deep the interface between HRMC/Deed office and 9ja deeds offices in 9ja states, as well as with deeds offices worldwide: just as Home Office has with many others worldwide (on refused visas!) 1 Like |
