Nino00: You're mixing things up. That something could happen doesn't mean it did. I'll give you an example of one that happened. Glory Alozie once represented Nigeria and won the African championship and commonwealth games gold medal for Nigeria. She also won Silver for Nigeria at the Olympics and World Athletics Championship. She however switched to Spain in 2001 and went ahead to win goals for them at the European championships. Such things exist, but with Tobi's case I expressed doubt that it happened. The reason is simple, Tobi's record prior to that Diamond league in 2021 or so wasn't seller. Of course she was winning the African and Commonwealth games but US athletes had way better time. She wasn't podium worthy at the World championship and the Olympics. Her best time I think was 12.68 or so. It was when she hit the 12.42 at the diamond's league that things started looking great. She even almost quit cause of not making the podium. And for the WNBA, you're making my point for me. The WNBA has a maximum of 144 roster spots. Just this year, they've cut numerous no 1 draft picks, that's how competitive it is. So if you don't make that cut you obviously wouldn't even remotely considered for team USA. It's why I'm hoping Arike switches to Nigeria cause they have 10 people who can take a spot and they'll still be elite. But Nigeria is obviously not her first choice, it doesn't mean there aren't persons who right from the start will chose Nigeria. They are just very few. |

typicalgamer: Twice now, you've insulted me unprovoked.. it's quite characteristic of you.. When did I compare Grant and Spencer's position? If Grant could make the list ahead of better forwards, what make you think Spencer won't? Go and check USA squad to the 2019 basketball world cup..how many top grade players were there? You had to go to Google to bring out the squad list 🤣🤣 4 Likes 1 Share |

lovewins: USA won't wait until you start winnning medals before trying to woo you to represent them...that's beneath them... Even some of their elite athletes didn't start winning medals from the start.... Tobi was under their reach as a collegiate athlete when she was winning medals for her school. They could have approached her there.. |

Oga Kog, please stop reading Nigeria sport papers. Those guys are the worst sport journo in Africa. I rememeber that idiot pulse sport going under ManUnited's page to tweet against buying Oshimen. Can you imagine that? My source is primary (Folarin's tweeter page). Folarin waited for Southgate's last Euro qualifiers list and when he was not listed he wrote on his story "go where you are appreciated". Saying he selected USA over England is false. In series of his interviews and tweet he was open to playing for Nigeria before the United States coach and FA sent him an invite to the USA. He even attended some basketball games and was treated to a celebrity status yet waited for Southgate's invite. lol! Nigeria did not even care cos we don't need him. Moffi is only 3 goals away from him. Iheanacho was in his best form before his injury. Boniface highest goal scorer in Europa. Orban fastest hattrick in UEFA competition. Awo in the form of his life. King Oshimen. So, why die over a player with one good season. Oga Kog you should know better! Joebie na IPOB normally. Kog45: 1 Like |

Nino00: I asked a simple question Kevin Durant Jason Tatum Dame dollar Devin booker The above 4 players mentioned Has there ever been a season where spencer outplayed them ? If this 4 players where to be draft picks Would you pick Spencer above them. ? You’re just fooling yourself with stupid narrative. 10/10 rewind time Spencer would never made that team I’m no Spencer hater I’m a Brooklyn nets fan we got swept last month by Philly But Spencer is not the man my dude He’s like Jadon sancho a box of spark but never consistent |

typicalgamer: You're just diverting... I never brought a comparison between Spencer and the other guards called up for the Olympics... What I'm telling you is that Spencer didn't decide to represent Nigeria because he didn't have a chance with thr US... Plenty of players not better than him have represented team US... Chikena OG Anunoby would have been part of our Olympic team, but he pulled out due to some reason at the last minute... He hasn't decided to represent the UK, his country of birth either.. would u say OG is a role player too? 🤣 |

Information Correction: Victor Eletu yet to hit Flying Eagles camp. Now, we were under the impression that Eletu has indeed hit camp but it is false. Little wonder he didn't feature in yesterday's friendly. Honestly, I don't understand why the media officers are playing hide and seek with this info and even misleading us just as they have been doing so with some friendly info in the lead up to the U20 WC. Today, Victor Eletu just finished playing 73mins of AC Milan U19's 3-0 away win in the Italian Primavera. TheSuperNerd: 1 Like |

Nino00: Again, what you're saying is besides the point. I am not saying it couldn't have happened, it's why I sited an example of someone who switched. I'm saying it didn't happen in Tobi's case. Scouting of talents start at high school in the USA, it's what determines college placements for the most part. Tobi grew up in Nigeria, and got her break with the African youth championship. Her current coach was the one scouting YouTube and saw her, then brought her to UTEP. She was not remotely on the US radar as her though with potentials, there were many US citizens already better than she was. Her coach however worked on her and her time got better. Also, apart from the World Athletics qualification time for athletes, the USA also has their time. It's why I sited Tobi's time prior to the Diamond league of 2021. I doubt she'll have made team USA with that time. I'll give you another example of switches. Ezzine Abba was born in the US to Nigerian parents, she isn't exceptional but she's as good as our current crop of 100m sprinters. She switched in 2022 to represent Nigeria (after she couldn't make team USA). Sadly for her, she didn't finish her doping test; there were 3 test to be carried out and she had done just 2. The AFN promised that they'll run the test a few days to the World Athletics Championship last year. She was already at the airport when they called her that they couldn't continue, it's why she didn't participate with Favour Ofili and Tobi Amusan. Now she's switched back to the USA, and willing to fight her way through. Her time is getting better and she may just make the team. So this switches happen, but in Tobi's case the premise just isn't there. |

Nino00: Bro you worse pass this papi guy self I asked you a simple question. Would you pick Spencer that’s always injured over those 4 players i listed above ? Kevin Durant Jason Tatum Devin booker Dame lillard You as a general manager you would pick Spencer as a starter and the core of your team over these guys ? Yes or no I never mentioned og even if oG doesn’t play for us I respect him 💯 percent because that guy can’t cook almost any Nigerian soup single handedly If you see the egusi he made for Demar derozan See as the thing thick and dry damn 😭 |

This is exactly one of the angles I hoped anyone here will hit on. This just goes to show Bosso never wanted Akinsanmiro Ebenezer. 4 days to the opening game and Eletu is still balling for AC Milan U19 meanwhile Inter U19 were willing to let Akin join one week to the tournament opener and Bosso said NO. Na wa. Worse is the fact that they have been playing hide and seek with the information on Eletu's expected arrival in camp. The NFF media guys even reported we won a friendly game 3-2 in Argentina while we actually played 2-2. The club we played with reported it on their handle as 2-2 but the NFF insisted it was 3-2 and even named the Scorers. I don't know what agenda they are trying to run with by reporting a false result. Is it to give the impression that the team is truly good to go for the mundial? Honestly.... lots of shady nonsense going on around this team. elyte89: 1 Like |
