Owerri is a slum and a glorified rural area littered with dilapidated roads and filthy environment. Aba and Owerri are quite similar

Best capital cities in igboland with best roads and overall infrastructure

Enugu
Awka
Abakaliki

Workch:
No state capital in Nigeria is developed, they are all pieces of shit including ikeja and Port harcourt by global standard but the worst I have visited are as follows:

1. Lokoja (this one na dead place)
2. Lafia (na only two dualized road dey for here)
3. Ado Ekiti (mtcheew)
4 Umuahia (the government here is sleeping)
5. Yenegoa (this place na total disgrace).
6. Awka ( it's an expressway capital with 3 flyovers and 2 dualized roads)

The best I have visited by Nigerian standard are:
1. Port harcourt
2. Enugu
3. Ibadan
4. Awka
5. Ilorin
6. Ikeja

Ps: I have not visited Kaduna and Kano state.

PH people relax in Owerri over the weekend with UGM and ESN on rampage? Tell me something else please. Owerri is not in same class as PH as far Nigeria is concerned. Shoe get size abeg.

You clearly don't understand the meaning of development. Progressive development isn't having pipeline without refineries. Refineries can be likened to industry and world class hotels/entertainment hub can also be likened to industry.

A lot of people don't really know what development is all about. I'll give you reasons why only owerri and abj should be mentioned slightly above Nigeria level.

1. Being developed doesn't mean static condition; development is a continuum where you seek to improve the city according to the master plan ( owerri and abj still maintains that)
2. Organized street buildings and (not selected areas like GRA) ; you can't compare any city in Nija to owerri in that regard.
3. Organized commercial buildings without ugly fences.
4. Wide roads with so many bypasses ( not overrated flyovers that lead to no where)
5. World class landscaping for both residential and commercial areas.
6. Functional traffic lights
7. Solar lights
8. Underground drainage (balloon technology)
9.Tarred roads on major streets of old and new Owerri
10. Functional fire service
11. Public schools with world class learning environment...go now and visit schools like government secondary school, Holy ghost college, owerri girls college etc you will understand
12. Proactive public health
13. Organized transport for both civil servants (government bus) and other motorists (Bus imo)
14. Many shopping malls
15. World class hotels (I'm not joking)
16. Sam mbakwe airport ( a local airport that's 4th busiest in Nigeria is not a joke)
17. Home to family of expatriates ( a lot of these so called foreigners working in down south have almost formed a colony in Owerri but I won't give out the location here). They feel secured. Whether you like it or not, owerri is a peaceful capital and will always be.
18. The only state capital/zone in Nigeria where no imo governor has emerged from since 1999, but well built.

Stop embarrassing yourself. Is it this same Owerri. Owerri is a slum

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-eVrxjd-1oQ

Armaggedon:

Question is which capital city will you get the most quality life with enough money. Owerri beats the rest. It is relatively calm, well planned, neat and green, good and modern residential apartments, fairy good road and transportation ease. It also has a functional and fairly busy airport, hotels and other recreational facilities. Enugu is also good but appear dirty nowadays.

Port Harcourt has even more facilities than Owerri but has worse environment, worse traffic and a problem of petty cult clash. Reason many port Harcourt residents go to Owerri on weekends for relaxation.

Ikeja is good but traffic and noise are a major turn off.

I wouldn't argue about Ibadan. A large unplanned settlement with mostly dilapidated houses and with almost a non functional airport is what you want to argue about?
Re: Most Underdeveloped State Capitals In Nigeria by NwekereNdokl: 4:08pm On May 19, 2023
There's nothing beautiful or developed about Owerri. Owerri is a slum

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-eVrxjd-1oQ

SOSinNigeria:

Don't mind these guys, ignorance and bigotry has finished them. Owerri is definitely one of the best cities in Nigeria. Beautiful, serene, wide roads, lots of greenery etc.

For some reasons, Owerri is underrated but the facts speak for itself.

Owerri was the second city to ban okada in Nigeria after Abuja. Today, you can't find okada or Keke in Owerri. How many cities in Nigeria today can function without Keke and okada?

Owerri airport is one of the busiest in Nigeria despite being only local.

Owerri has the best nightlife you can find in any city in Nigeria!

Owerri has lots of malls, hotels and eateries per square mile than most cities in Nigeria.

New Owerri is so beautiful and serene that only a few places can be compared with it in Nigeria.

Anyone who wants to challenge me should get ready to argue with facts, pictures and videos or shut up!
Re: Most Underdeveloped State Capitals In Nigeria by NwekereNdokl: 4:12pm On May 19, 2023
Owerri is a glorified village. It shouldn't be on the list at all. Asaba, Abakaliki, Awka, etc are better

Owerri

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-eVrxjd-1oQ

Workch:
If I should sincerely rank capital cities without bias.

1. Port harcourt (without any single doubt, this is the best capital in Nigeria, Port harcourt is almost like the whole of lagos).
2. Kano
3. Kaduna
4. Enugu/Ibadan (for industrialization, I will go for Ibadan. For planning and serenity, I will go for Enugu).
6. /Ikeja s way bigger with more road infrastructure than Ikeja, while Ikeja is more densely built and many parts of Ikeja tarred, although these roads are substandardly tarred).
8. Uyo/Calabar (for road infrastructure, I will give it to Uyo but Calabar is better planned and seem to be more active than Uyo. Uyo seem to be bigger by landmass but Uyo is looking scanty, calabar is a very small city by landmass).
10. Ilorin/Jos/Benin (Ilorin is very planned with good roads, same as Jos but ilorin to me seem to be a better city than Jos, Jos does not really have some massive buildings). Benin city is large and also have some good roads in it.

After these then you can then mention cities like:
Akure and Abeokuta, they are also a little nice.

owerri is more organised than porthacourt, ikeja is overrated and like a typical yoruba city rowdy, when ever i enter Owerri i see serenity and peace, besides the houses are top class.stop argument, i stay in Lagos, but i was impressed by the beauty and planning of owerri.i come in peace
Re: Most Underdeveloped State Capitals In Nigeria by NwekereNdokl: 4:23pm On May 19, 2023
Where is the ease of movement in this slum called Owerri

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-eVrxjd-1oQ

Pascal9:
porthacourt is full of old buildings and narrow roads, Owerri is small but the roads are wide, and beautiful houses and ease of movement.good places to relax and enjoy, good schools and functional night life, what esle do you want.
Re: Most Underdeveloped State Capitals In Nigeria by NwekereNdokl: 4:32pm On May 19, 2023
