LMAO! So they found a fish they thought was extinct how does that prove evolution didn't happen? The theory doesn't say that a species must go extinct so finding a species thought to be extinct in no way disproves the theory.

That is an ambiguous statement. It pretty much means anything can be truth once search and research stop. If a police man stops searching for a perpetrator does that mean he has found truth?

Nothing.
Only that people mistake theory for absolute truth.
I read engineering. For some reasons I like to work on simulation. In simulation you proposed a model. Then we begin to look for experimental ways to reasonably 'comply' with the parameters. Another person will come to modify. I worked on gas laws in my first degree research. I discovered then we had more than 150 gas laws. None has come close to ideal gas law.
So is theory. As you rightly defined it.
In my PhD topic it was messier. It is also simulation on oil spill. So many models have been proposed and some crazy formulae.
We are struggling to find the best way or evidence to explain our ideas. The most celebrated theories e. g . Evolution is punctured with many holes. Einstein theory of relativity is not perfect. Theory of everything is messy .
I don't know any scientific theory or law that doesn't need a review.

I think the creator has put that in his creation for us to labour on.

Well that's fine. But for what reason? If the god knows everything and is not harmed by it why not create beings that can also know everything and not be harmed by it? Why does the god need to institute such limits to knowledge?

The day man knows everything about God, He has lost His dread and relevance. He hides Himself from the contempt of mankind.
If we talk about God, I think the Bible has given us the reasons. I am a Christian, I can only argue from that standpoint. The Earth and humanity are dying. In fact everything is growing old. Our solar system, the universe.
Everything. I don't think there will ever be anytime death will be conquered by man. The more knowledge of sicknesses we know, the more crazy ones appear that defy the peak of knowledge.


The Bible summarizs this as a mystery. You don't reason out mystery. It is the end of road of human thinking and finding.

Even the reality of God is not known except to believe in some unreasonable assertions of faith.

For instance, Jesus was born of a woman solely, worse still a virgin. He walked on the air as staircase into heaven in the glaring gale of onlookers into sky. Where? Miracles not reproduceable. And many others not explainable by science.

When you talk about happenings in the life of man, wars, sicknesses, distress and many of these befall even believers and servants of God.

You wonder whether those preaching about Him really know Him.
We keep on searching for the reality of man, things around us, and even God.
The respite we have is the promise of afterlife. Where and when we will know more not all. No one has been there. We believe by faith.
Now, to believe in the uncertainties of science is a risk. Not to believe in the mystery of God is higher risk.

So I believe both (with my little knowledge of science) but to play safe, if there is afterlife, ( I take by faith), I take my religion seriously.
