Hi Guys, I want to apply for Visit visa for my mom. Please what's the current processing time like? How much POF is enough for a 3months stay? Is it advisable to apply on the new portal with the 30 business days processing time? Or on the normal ircc portal? Please I need advice |
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Emmafe(m): 11:41pm On May 20, 2023 |
SweetJJ:3 months is too much, state 3-4weeks, she can use decide to use 3 months when she gets to Canada. Use the new portal. Lastly only ircc can answer how long it will take. Some applications are still pending decision since 2021 while some that applied April 2023 have gotten a decision. |
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by SweetJJ: 1:17am On May 21, 2023 |
Emmafe: Thanks, how about POF? The main reason for her coming is to take care of my kids while I am away for data collection for 3months (as per phd). Is this a solid reason to grant visa? I have the supporting documents to show that I will be away for about 3months. |

Emmafe: Also, any idea whether the people that applied in April 2023 and got decision, did they apply on new portal or the old portal? |

Hello , Greetings everyone Please I have a 10 year Canadian visa. I wanted to ask if it’s possible for me to apply for a USA tourist visa , from canada. Or I cannot apply from a third party country, Please advise . Thank you 🙏 |
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by House34: 2:19am On May 21, 2023 |
goldenedem: Firstly, having a ten-year tourist visa means that you can only stay in Canada for a maximum of six months at any given time. Let me advise you that if you stay beyond three months without a valid reason, you may face secondary inspection on your next trip. You can apply for a US visa while on visit to canada, but your chances are slim because you need a valid reason during the US visa interview as to why you are not applying in your home country. I believe the best option is to visit Canada, return home, and then apply for a US visa. This approach will increase your chances as a responsible traveler. I wish you all the best! 2 Likes |

Deronke1: What you have said isn't insensitive, and your concerns are germane. However, there's nothing you should worry about. Before your trip, ask the airline to put you on a seat not close to the window. If you need any help when on board, call the attention of the host, they'll be more than willing to help. 3 Likes |

Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by House34: 11:48am On May 21, 2023 |
Deronke1: Watch out for Barotrauma, or airplane ear, is caused by rapid air pressure changes during flight. It leads to ear discomfort or pain in the ear , muffled hearing, dizziness, and a fullness sensation. To prevent barotrauma, try swallowing or yawning frequently, chewing gum or sucking on candy, and staying awake and alert during takeoff and landing. Nasal decongestants can be used if congested, and EarPlanes or earbuds may provide relief. It's advisable to avoid sleeping during descent and exposure to irritants like smoke or strong perfumes. These tips help equalize pressure in the ears and minimize the risk of barotrauma during a flight. 2 Likes |

goldenedem: Yes, you can. But read the information below, which is posted on US immigration website. You should schedule an appointment for your visa interview at the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in the country where you live. You may schedule your interview at another U.S. Embassy or Consulate, but be aware that it may be more difficult to qualify for a visa outside of the country where you live” https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/tourism-visit/visitor.html/visa#:~:text=You%20should%20schedule%20an%20appointment,the%20country%20where%20you%20live. 1 Like |

Deronke1: There’s not much to it to be honest. The only “special times” are during take off and landing. Other times it’s just like you’re in a BRT. As someone rightly suggested, chew gum cos of your ears and just enjoy your flight. Nothing prepares you for takeoff and landing but trust me it’s nothing to be scared of. It’s just a new feeling. Safe trip! 3 Likes |

@Emmafe, I finally got my Canadian visa stamped already. But please I’ll like to ask you something else. If I want to apply for my son (as at the time I applied last year, I haven’t given birth), so I didn’t declare him in my application. If I want to apply for Canadian tourist visa for him too, will I have to open a new and fresh application for him on ircc website or I’ll use my own page to create a new application for him. Thank you always. |

I fly regularly and i am still afraid of flying after many years but i still fly. For me its the fear of heights so i avoid window seats by all means possible and people are all to glad to exchange seats with me if necessary. I keep my mind off the journey by watching movies and listening to songs using the inflight entertainment system, trust me fear does not allow me sleep even on 20hour flights. I just want you to know that you will be fine and your fears a not abnormal. Also note that turbulence does not bring down a plane, that is a fact of science you can research that ,so the habit of people screaming and calling on God, Jesus and the Holy spirit during turbulence is quite hilarious because its just like pot holes for a car driving on a bad road so the clouds are kind of bumping the plane, please stay relaxed and follow the inflight safety measures during turbulence. The most crucial part of any journey is take off and landing that's where the most flight risk is (all things being equal). Air travel is relatively one of the safest way to travel so safe trip and pray for added comfort. 3 Likes |

Hi guys! Please I need advice regarding Canada visit visa application. Let say for example, I have like 4.5m for account then I transfered 2m out a month to when I intend to submit my application. Do I need to explain reason why I transfer out for example the 2m out. Even though I am only declaring 2.5m as the money I have for the visiting. |
