The primary reason why two consenting adults claiming Christians agree to become one is SEX!

Apostle Paul told Christians in Corinth:

Jesus likens the marriage bond to a "YOKE" {Matthew 19:6} this instrument is used to make two animals work on a field as both are tied together, they must have the same size, they must be same specie, they must both be healthy.
Therefore if two persons are coming into such arrangement both of them must share a lot of things in common before such marriage can work, if the one of them love sex he/she mustn't hide it simply because of the love for material possessions.

God said your marriages are of this world and not of the Kingdom of God - Luke 20 vs 34-36. So, how can your marital sex and your decisions regarding it amount to sin(disobedience of God's direct commandment).
