Tinubu just confirmed subsidy has been removed.

Tinubu tried in his speech. Na man you be.

I think Tinubu is the first president since 1999 that has reaffirmed his promises after election.

God bless Tinubu.
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Buhari already said subsidy wasn't accounted for in the budget, BAT is affirming it. The subsidy removal was an APC policy.

Nigeria's problem is more than the President (replace President with leadership), but black people generally like trading blames and pointing fingers anyway.

Zero Optimism from my end here. I wish everybody involved well.

Not far from the truth

The funny thing is most people won’t understand the effect until coming days when transport costs will go high up, cost of powering households go up, productions costs go up and general costs of running businesses go up in the absence of stable electricity .

I’m interested in what labour leaders will do about the matter sha .

No. Theres subsidy payment in the budget till June.

Tinubu is owning the fuel subsidy with his full chest, nobody is going to blame Buhari for the fallout.

Words have always been easy to say action is where the difficulty lies. Let's see how he will succeed where OBJ, Yar Adua, GEJ and PMB failed.

Until the courts say otherwise I wish President Tinubu aka Baba Seyi all the best. His success will be our success so I wish him great health and wisdom.

Exactly what I feel too. At least that time the marketers would not be bearing landing costs and other associated cost that will be passed down to the final consumers when subsidy is removed .

That way if we are supposed to be buying like 750 per liter , we will be paying like 450 instead ( since the cost of freight from the refineries in foreign countries and clearing won’t be considered with Dangote working close to us )

In as much as I fault any form of fuel subsidy removal due to d hardship it will brings but I THINK Dangote refinery will have an impact as a result of no "landing cost" and several other miscellaneous involved...

If a litre of fuel is sold for #500, d ripple effect would be devastating in this current situation we are in.

Don't get your hopes up about the incoming BAT government, bro. If it's actually true BAT has removed the petrol subsidy without even giving Nigerians some time to prepare for the tough times ahead, then people will wish Buhari was still the president as woeful as the outgoing administration is.

I hope it's not true BAT will remove the subsidy in this manner even after NUPENG warned him not to take that step hurriedly.

Subsidy payments run till the end of June.

Fuel Subsidy removal has been passed as law by Buhari and comes into effect in July 1st when it is no longer taken care of by the budget

But it was reported in April that Buhari had suspended fuel subsidy removal.

Fuel Subsidy removal was passed into Law by Buhari not Tinubu. It is a Law already in Nigeria that payments for Subsidy ends June30 , 2023.

Importantly, all Top presidential candidates were in support of it. Whether Obi or Atiku, whatever happens this first 6months under Tinubu regarding petrol will happen under any candidate

Read the post you quoted again, and what NUPENG said. The problem isn't subsidy removal but the timing and manner of removal.

It was reported in January. By April, The FG collected 100s of millions of dollars from Top banks to alleviate Subsidy removal by June

I bolded the part I was responding to. You claimed " if Tinubu actually removed Fuel Subsidy without" . He didn't remove it. Buhari did.

However he and any other top presidential candidate was/claimed to remove it
