Wahala dey o.

See as them cover am around to block the views of camera men from seeing what's going on. The way this man will rule...Nigerians will be left in dark. You will be wondering what's going on with your president while his team keep giving you packaged photos and 3sec videos.

“Tinubu is a very skillful politician who needs to apply his skills to unite a very polarized nation.

“He must galvanize Nigeria’s economic heavyweights, home and abroad, to address the economy of the nation and reposition the armed forces.

“As Commander-in-Chief, he needs to take a good look at the armed forces to reorient them, retrain them and reorganize them because the armed forces have undergone a lot of processes that need to be put together and make them more efficient.

“I wish the new administration well. Let them put Nigeria first, and the welfare of Nigerians should be paramount. Leadership at all levels is missing.

“The only advice is to be patient and continue to support the new government, but if they see things going wrong, they should cry out as usual, but be objective about it.”

- General Ibrahim Babangida.

Donjazet2:
The problem for me concerning this subsidy is an issue of "trust".

In an advanced country or democracy, if the government says, we're taking money away from this venture and funneling or diversifying it into another venture, but there might be short term pain for long term gain, people can then boldy argue the merits or demerits of the issue but knowing for sure that those funds would not be tampered with.l and everyone can monitor how those public funds are used.

So for me Personally, if Obi is president today and is telling me, he will remove subsidy and the funds will be diverted towards other more fruitful venture, I'm more inclined to believe this knowing his antecedents with handling public funds and knowing the obstacles he overcame to win that seat.

However, in a kakisto-plutocracy under BAT which is surely going to continue our rotten style of absolutely corrupt politics of and for the elite, how on earth do I sacrifice the little gain to suffer times 10 when I know the money gotten will simply be funneled towards corrupt politicians pockets again?

Jonathan slashed subsidy by a bit and set up the "subsidy scheme" in 2013 or so, we all saw how that scheme became another venue for government corruption.

If there was trust in the government, then we could argue the merits and demerits of subsidy, but the fact that the government about to enforce this is one that was announced like a thief in the night with a stolen certificate. I have no personal desire to suffer for a lost cause.

A statement by the CAN President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh said: “On behalf of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), I would like to extend our warmest congratulations to the new President of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as he assumes office today.

“This is a momentous occasion for Nigeria, and we wish President Tinubu well as he takes on the responsibilities of leading our great nation.

“Nigeria is facing a number of challenges that require strong and decisive leadership. From security concerns to economic struggles, it is clear that there is much work to be done in order to ensure that Nigeria can reach its full potential”.

He said: “As we face our common challenges, Nigerians must come together as a people with a spirit of unity and a great sense of accommodation to form a potent force. To this end, we believe that as His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu engages the active participation of all Nigerians regardless of their political, ethnic and religious leanings, Nigeria can overcome all obstacles to emerge stronger than ever.

“Once again, we congratulate President Tinubu and wish him all the best as he begins the onerous task of leading Nigeria at this time of our national history”.

I still dey tell my guy this evening about this . How can people complain his own personal staff are Yoruba ? If I was in his shoes too I will appoint people I can talk to in my local language for my own personal staff cos I will not be speaking English to everybody in the public and still speak English to my personal staff again.

I will prefer people I can speak to in Yoruba sharp instead of thinking in Yoruba and speaking in English to them. I wouldn’t want to join that mental stress to my workload. Make people allow him appoint people he’s comfortable with in his own personal staff Abeg.
