This is why countries in middle east discourages association or union. Once they have union, they can use that to attack any government, and spread their narratives. All that marketers ever think of is their interest, that's why we need a a process in place to attack this unionism that holds the collective interest of the people under their control. For instance, if government discourages tokunbo cars, those ones will triple their prices, just to inflict pains on the consumers as a way of sending message to the government, but we all know it is to profit their pockets.

Bros calm down una never see anything. The same fuel marketers are in the APC too naaaa. Who were those benefitting from subsidy before? The truth is the new government and the former government are not even sincere about the guidelines on subsidy removal. The dangote refinery launch was a PR stunt, as the refinery is not even up to 60% complete. I will not be surprised that they would secretly allow dangote to import fuel and use the Jetty and the lekki deep-sea port as cover for now and tell us that the fuel is from his refinery. It is cheaper to allow one entry point for fuel and remove the distribution component of subsidy which allows for the price to be uniform across rhe country by reimbursing for distribution all over.
This is the game plan that is being hatched trust me.

It's too early to praise BAT, but his policies have created a utopia in the economic system. The subsidy has to go else Nigeria's economy will be brought down to its knee.

Humans will always take advantage of policy gaps. Marketers are increasing their prices because they're aware that the government can and will do NOTHING.

Same NNPC complaining about the subsidy eating their profit is same organisation building power plants and roads when works and power ministry still exist.. Every MDA needs lootable revenue available at all times I guess.

When a government doesn't allow rule of law that is what will happen. See it is inherent in human being to want to game the system, or do you think Europeans and American don't want to game the system at the slightest opportunity? buhari was minister of petroleum and in charge of all the security agencies in the country for 8years. he didnt tackle fuel marketers and oil thieves and you are now expecting governors to tackle fuel marketers. how do you want them to do that?

It is petroleum inspectorate's perogative to take that decision to monitor for compliance, but the real truth is that these guys will not do it to the max.

Can't the government be serious with their enforcement by sincerely checkmate the filling stations one by one and do the needful? If you implement something by reading from a paper without the necessary strategies put in place it won't work magic. The government will fail totally of they continue like this because many greedy people are in the Industry.

Too early to start making excuses.
Government is the supplier of the product.
Government is the regulator of the product.
Government wants to make it a free market.
So what is all the excuses for.
Just flood the market with the product.

Was expecting complete deregulation by yesterday.
It didn't happen.
Who's fault, is it not government.
And everyday this government delays the act (not mere talk or threat) it becomes increasingly harder to do it.
