They created multiple chances. Argentina had chances to score. Let us don't pretend as if we were flawless. We were dominated.

Haha that's not the argument, of course they created chances. The point is that the chances they seemed to create were what we were more prepared to deal with i.e. crosses or long range shots/deflections. You cannot just simply cage a team! Especially when they're the hosts and favourites playing in front of a boisterous even hostile crowd.

Come on you know tactical football much better than this, I know.

Chai... to say someone is lucky doesn't mean his/her effort is being underplayed.
Ok, there were chances where a very good team would take and punish us. The ball that hit the post, was it not due to luck? Those goal mouth scrambles nko, were we not lucky that the ball didn't go in?
Luck doesn't underplay efforts bro..
Haywhy, we both know that's the undertone to this discussion. Yunno. But we move.

bros you cant rip to shred this type of Nigerian side with high defense line…u can only beat them 1-0

How many goals did Brazil score them again?

If this team concedes an early goal, their in deep trouble.

Longevity comes with style of play. You play a pattern that will keep the team improving. How do we improve by siting in the box?
Ok

I have never seen parked bus as tactical football.

In Atlanta 1996 when we met a star studded Brazil, we went toe to toe with them. We did not stay cramped in our box.

I am 100% dominant football fan.

The best performers on the night were their left back (can't remember his name), Redondo, Daga and Emmanuel.

Okay you can watch and critique as a fan. When you watch with a tactical eye what you see is different. No wahala.

Naturally, our football in Nigeria is based on athleticism and physicality. We are naturally athletic. That's our football identity. we just need sound coaches to refine this strength. All this tikitaka no dey work for our side. The second goal clearly said it all. That run and stubbornness from Eletu to win that ball eh..

Exactly bro, we cant do tiki taka against teams like brazil, spain,Argentina etc…them go roast us…check all our disgraceful word cup/International match losses, it always Nigeria trying to play smart possessive football (against Denmark, Against spain) we kno who we can bully with possessive football (the likes of iceland, malta, maldova, etc) as for top elite footballing countries its high time we accept that we cant play to dominate them…them go jus disgrace us….oga na high defense plus pressing of “O” button and “boodey” to the striker for counter oo

I believe we can do better, outplay and dominate Argentina.

I have always rated our talent pool high. Our problem comes from selection and poor style of play.

We will not grow playing that way. Wishing us stagnancy is what you do supporting this.

In the near future, more of those Argentine players will be top stars. We can't expect same from players who are good at staying inside their box.

Growth is the Koko.
dont worry they will grow same way osimhen and co are still growing. Remember it’s a process and I see few stars ⭐️ and super eagles 🦅 future materials in the team… let’s endeavor to be positive please

I believe in the passing game but keeping your identity. If you can't make clever intelligent build up plays, it is hard to excel in the modern game.

You can play with high press and intensity, and still pass well.

Osimhen and Iheanacho exelled playing for offensive sides of Nigeria. Not parked bus.

So Redondo in this Argentine team is Real Madrid's Fernando Redondo's son. Impressive.

oga you wanna compare the level of preparedness we took on italy and also with argentina to that of brazil, and by the was is 2-0 ripping to shred? even with some yeye changes we made it took them late in the game to score their second goal…if brazil meet us at this knockout stages they cant best us more than 1-0, them selve will see flames of defending football…forget that dead rubber match dey played with us

They will be a top star not because of their style of play but because of their career development. Longetivity has nothing to do with style of play bro.
best reply 👍… Another thing that make me happy is the new mentality our boys are having presently, most are working hard to attain greater heights in their football careers . So I believe 3/4 out of this team will come out great for us and themselves in nearest future 💯

We were dominated. That is a poor recipe in the long run.

26 shots, only 5 on Target compared to 10 and 4 on target by our boyz. It's a sweet game to rewatch. The closest reminder of such display from years back should be Siasia's dream team guys

Many people here lack understanding of football tactics. With Benjamin in our defense, no team can score against us. No team is capable of defeating us in this tournament.
Our boys are fast, strong, and determined to close down opponents and maintain high intensity throughout the entire 90 minutes. With our attack coming into fruition, we will be a nightmare for any team.

Calling our victory today luck is only a narrow-minded perspective. Only someone ignorant of football knowledge would write that.

We struck the post first and scored the opening goal. After our goal, can you expect a team like Argentina, playing in front of 50,000 fans, with players competing in the top 5 leagues in Europe, to sit back? I fail to comprehend the thought process of some individuals on this platform.

Our goalkeeper made only one or two good saves in the entire 90 minutes, while we managed to score two world-class goals.

This team can only lose through a penalty shootout; no team in this tournament can defeat us within regular playing time.

Good job boys! Nigeria is proud of you!
Marjoribanks:
With Benjamen back I do not see Argentina scoring us. Likewise our attack is not given. I expect a nil nil draw to be decided through penalties. We will scale through!

That is the problem. How do we raise World stars if we build players incapable of playing offensive football. Watch Romero and Gauto play. Watch Redondo's tidy passes in the midfield.

Nope. Longevity is really what matters. We don't progress in the long run if we can't play the game.
we talking about tournament you talking about long run, if these boys were beaten today or thrown out during the group stage most of them would be forgotten and their careers will fizzle out. The farther they go the better their chances of making a proper career in football

same way you found Greece 2004, Morocco 2022, Ghana 2009 (u-20) and 2010 (senior team) disgusting but guess what? they are already history makers, nobody cares about your tikitaka

No eletu. This man want to park trailer today. Or he wants to give everyone equal opportunity to play should we crash out.
yep. I Called it. This is tournament football. The goal is to advance higher not dominate. This is their chance to showcase their talents to the world. It is only stupidity that will make you play a possession game with a side clearly superior at it than you. The world does not start and end in tiki taka.
