Other governors were seriously commissioning projects last week, but Hope Uzodinma was sponsoring people to Israel on pilgrimage. The same thing we kick against when it's done in the north.

Hope Uzodinma has finally buried Imo State with lacklustre performance.

one of his girlfriends was in this thread saying he was doing something.

Other governors were doing substandard and irrelevant projects.
For any one to deny that Hope has done well in his first term, is just a political jobber. You have the right to say you won't vote hope because of a global phenomenon; insecurity.
But to say he hasn't beaten records of ohakim and rochas is laughable... Most of us don't travel to understand the concept of relevance..."needs assessment"
Only Hope has done it.
Hope came in and identified flooding as a major challenge along flash points like chukwuma nwoha and co, designed a technology that would channel flow to otammiri. Thats what you call a project and not building flyovers that block, rather than aid vehicular movement.. Hope is building the biggest drainage around ekemegbuoha, toronto; a drainaige built in three coaches doesn't sound like a regular project in that part of the amalgamated area.

He identified traffic problems like the fire service junction, designed a world class T junction; which i call the specific objective of a broad objective(to improve owerri umuahia road) and so on

...quite a pity the model of education in the amalgamated area is just for cosmetics rather than application

All already captured in his 2023 budget!! awaiting implementation.

One wonders how some of you see a state and its development process.
Every time you talk about Gov Hope Uzodinma and development in Imo state, it's all about urban roads in Owerri reconstruted by Uzodinma government, then the three federal roads.
Are you daft that you don't understand that Imo state extends beyond your Owerri hometown? Orlu is in ruins because the governor refused to do anything here. Other once developing cities, except
Owerri, in Imo State are grounded. Your yardstick for measuring development in a state must be the yardstick used by primitive men.

Another 4 years of Hope Uzodinma as governor of Imo state, only old people will be living in places outside Owerri federal constituency in Imo state. The three federal roads reconstructed by Uzodinma government shall become Christmas roads for people leaving Owerri for Christmas to their abandoned villages in Imo state.

Every town in a state has its most important internal roads that enable commerce in the town.

A state governor like Hope Uzodinma reconstructs only the urban roads of the state capital. One can stand for twenty minutes on some of the roads of Hope Uzodinma in Owerri but without encountering any human or vehicular traffic.
He watches all these years as commerce is arrested in the other towns in Imo state, as he refused to reconstruct the most important commercial roads in the towns.
Shops and businesses close down outside Owerri. Give Uzodinma thirty years as governor of Imo state; he will not understand that development in a state is not about only the state capital city.

Mr orlu man, learn how to make submissions according to the core of an arguement. I responded on the basis of "comparative analysis"( uzodinma vs rochas/ohakim) and what actually constitutes a project. I'm not here to banter local politics with you.

Hope Uzodinma beats his predecessors? Maybe, or maybe not. But has he done well? I don't think so. Imo state is the richest state in the South East, and one of the richest in Nigeria. And it oil and gas wealth figures have been grossly understated, infact we hear next to nothing about our earnings from the gas industry in the state. Some times I wonder why the Northern cabal is so interested in who governs Imo state, starting from Rochas to the recent supreme Court saga. If there is any state in the southeast that should top every developmental indices, it should be Imo state, but this not the case. Hope in the Last 4 years can only boast of road construction, particularly in Owerri and nothing else. There is no other mega project that he has started or completed, so what exactly does he spend our money on. Hope visited Aso Rock more than any governor from the Eastern region, yet he could not attract any federal project to the state, yet people still have the effrontery to come online and promote him. I want us to analyse Dave Umahi tenure, and observe the catalogue of projects he was able to start and even complete for his state, both were in APC, both were Aso rock regular visitors. Should we talk about the insecurity and introduction of thuggery for harassment before, during and even after elections.

Unless you are sponsored by Hope Uzodinma and his party, I see no reason why any Imolite will campaign and promote Hope.

Honestly speaking hope uzodinma hates good environment, he should employe street sweepers from old owerri to new side he refused to cut those over grown grasses. he is busy sponsoring thousands of pilgrimages to isreal, jordan etc just dey waste public funds

Instead of you to face your backward useless worthless shithole imo state, you are here trying to show your stupidity.

Imo state is in ruins with dilapidated roads and filthy environment, but all you are bothered about is Anambra where millions of imo indigenes preferred to make their home.

Imo state is the worst state in southeast now, even ebonyi and abia has overtaken imo state.

As for airport, imo is yet to have an airport, what's in imo state in the name of airport is a motorpark. Now ebonyi has gotten airport before imo state. Shame on imo state leaders..

Re: Few Pics From Imo State by Broveens42(m): 11:32pm On Jun 04, 2023
When you say everything at same time, you actually say nothing.
Look at your first paragraph, you are of the opinion Hope may have beat his predicessors; this isn't different from my earlier submission. I even said you have the rights not to vote hope because of insecurity.
My arguements were based on what constitutes a project and i affirmed hope is the only governor that has done something close to "needs assessment.." after Mbakwe .
Dave umuahi you mentioned built airport, and we saw children eating left overs from commissioning. There are projects and there are relevant projects. Please take time and read.

This is what a governor of an oil-producing state did in four years and you consider it doing so well?

I have a couple of questions for you...

1. Imo used to take pride as the most educated state in the East (if not the entire country), but education standard in the state has terribly declined. Rochas, we say, is bad, but we know how much effort he put into education in Imo State. Now, how has Hope improved education standard in Imo in the past four years?

2. How about housing? Has he made effort to build affordable housing or partnered with the private players to do the same?

3. How has he improved healthcare in Imo State? How come he abandoned the structures Rochas spread across the 27 LGAs of the state? He abandoned those structures to start building cubicle-like nonsense probably to spike Rochas. So, what serious effort has he made in this area?

4. Mind you, most Nigerian governors use their first tenure to work and second tenure to loot. The idea is to convince the people to vote for them the second time. So, what major project will Hope Uzodinma be remembered for if he is not reelected? This is a man who has spent four years in office.

5. What efforts has he made to provide teeming Imo youths with jobs?

6. What efforts has he made to improve Imo State IGR by harnessing the untapped potential of the state to improve revenue generation?

7. What major companies or FDI has Hope Uzodinma attracted in Imo State in the past four years? In Nigeria, FDI is calculated per state every year, but I am asking for four years.

Una think say leadership na chere kam bia! Listen, leadership is all-encompassing. Nobody expects you to achieve all that, but you cannot come and fix a few roads and expect everyone to blow your trumpet. The factors I highlighted above are some of the yardsticks used to assess governments that are performing. I am sincerely waiting for your answers.

You still didn't counter my points based on comparative studies.
Some of your highlighted is a well known cancer in imo state, after the administration of dee sam. I'll clearify your highlighted based on my affirmation, Hope beat his predicessors.
1. Your first point has no bearing, because the last i checked, literacy level is still very high in imo state. Your points will be well appreciated if you insinuate, Imo rarely score highest in WAEC. But certainly doesn't suggest illiteracy.
2. Housing has always been a private business in imo state
3. That is what intelligent people do. They do not engage irrelevant/substandard projects, when you still have Health centers accross all LGA's and begging to be equipped. Have you seen a typical health center in south Africa? you will weep for yourself. Maybe you should have asked, why hope hasn't demolished some of Rochas' artificial palm and erected his...
4. Hope will be remembered for putting western education into practice..
Project: identifying a problem, Broad objective, specific objectives, questions and design/solutions of the study. If road is still a problem, there's nothing wrong engaging in such, if that's what the community wants; we call it "needs assessment" (case study: poly road, ada palm, etc)
5. I don't know about any efforts, but i do know he had engaged imo youths in tech and other social programs
6. I heard about the gas industry
7. Companies are not the only sector that drive a city. Some cities are good at hospitality (all over the world).

A stark illiterate thinks better than you do.
Western Education?
No state governor who received Western Education would plunge his state into economic paralysis like Hope Uzodinma did in Imo state.
State Governors in Western nations don't make modern development in a state become only for a tiny portion of the state - the area of the state capital. Limiting modern development infrastructures to only the state capital amounts to Economic strangulation for a state.
In 4 years, Hope Uzodinma abandoned Orlu, Imo state's 2nd largest urban centre to rot. Other economic centres outside Owerri suffer similar abandonment. You must have received Eastern Education. Uzodinma paves the urban and rural roads in only your Owerri area. You thus see him as one who passed through Western education.
