@tunlex01
I have observed with recent happenings from people who has assess with aitsl that for a B.ed to be assess as suitable it must be from a tier 1 university.( It will be assess suitable to Australia level AQF 7 without needing a pgde)if you assess with 4 year degree in education,it will be assess as not suitable because of not fulfilling the initial teacher education requirements not withstanding if you have a masters in education or not.
For people with B.SC in other discipline but a pgde in education and the 45 days teaching practice ( it will be assess as suitable equivalent to an associate degree/diploma AQF level 6) this information is research from Facebook groups and experience from people who have done the assessment recently .this information is available on their site too if you read between the lines.( see applicant check list on aitsl Portal)People at a disadvantage are those who read B.ed in a tier 2 university

@felixzo1 @tunlex01 so with a 4years B.ed from University of ilorin, 45days teaching practice, IELTS band required by aitsl one can't get a positive assessment?
And please what is the initial teacher education again?

intial teacher education is pgde or pgce , usually a full year course including a teaching practice.
4 year B .ed will not meet the qualification requirements. Equivalent to Australia educational frame AQF level 7. But I believe with a pgde and a B .ed, it will meet the requirements.

I don't think the second paragraph is correct too. if your degree whether BEd or Bsc in other discipline is from tier 2, it's still not assessable with AITSL. Do you know anyone with a recent AQF 6 equivalent + pgde that got a positive assessment?
I have seen in South Africa 3 year degree and a pgce but not for Nigeria
We have not also seen a refusal with pgde and B.sc or B .ed. Aitsl emphasis is more on the initial teacher education at post graduate level and teaching practice and English test.

a pgde as an additional qualification.

I have taken time to copy from aitsl check list for a secondary school teacher. Read and decide what it means

Application Guide pages 7 and 8

Initial teacher education qualification requirement
The study must include an initial teacher education qualification comparable to the educational
level of an Australian Bachelor degree (Australian Qualifications Framework Level 7) or higher,
which includes:

i) at least one year full-time (or part-time equivalent) higher education
(university) level study of Secondary School Teacher initial teacher education

ii) completion of at least 45 days of supervised teaching practice with students
across the 13 to 18 years age range in a secondary school setting

Other higher education qualifications
requirement
Other higher education qualification/s contributing to the four years of study must be comparable to the educational level of an Australian Advanced Diploma/Associate Degree (Australian Qualifications Framework Level 6) or higher.

Hello House,

Good evening. Please some clarity and advise.
Is it advisable to proactively do my medicals before submitting my 491 visa or wait when I am told to do so?
Or can we be asked to do medicals and biometrics at the same time by the CO?
I am just trying to manage funds because I stay in PH with my family.
Thanks
You should do your medicals and biometrics immediately after payment except if you want to delay your grant, then you can wait till co contacts you

Hello everyone,

I'm new here after reading the last four pages, my heart is skipping already cry. Please what are my chances and which route would be ideal for me with this profile:

B.Sc: Chemistry 2014 (I haven't been working in my field)
Age: 35
Marital status: Single.

Thanks so much.
How do we help if we don’t know what you do or full details? If you read the last 4 pages like you said, you would have seen the way people provide full profile details

Hi, please I noticed that the reference number on Vetassess ends with two letters in bracket, (eg) after the number. I want to know if these two letters in bracket are part of the reference number. For example, ref number: 12TS834318 (eb), I want to know if the (eb) is part of the ref number.
Thanks.
I haven’t seen such recently. Can you share a screenshot?

From recent reports, it won’t fly if your first degree is not from a tier 1 university. We even went back and forth over email to convince the assessor to use the MEd and the teaching practice but they declined

South Africa updates their Education profile with Australia Noosr every quarter so a 3 year degree meets AQF 7 whereas Nigeria’s profile has not been updated by NUC since 2013 August.

No their emphasis is not initial teacher education on post graduate level. What they said 2 weeks ago when we went back and forth to dispute the result was that they will not consider post graduate degree if your initial qualification is not an AQF 7.
So someone with an engineering bachelor degree (5 years) and a Pgde or MEd will get a positive assessment.

I know you have a lot on your plate , you have helped a lot of people both online and offline regarding immigration issues. Your YouTube channel is wonderful, I have learnt a lot from there my self. I understand perfectly any degree from a tier 2 university is access as equivalent to Aqf 6 which is a associate degree.
But there is a difference between B.ed and a B.sc.
B ed has the initial teacher education incorporated into the standard 4 year courses in a tier 2 university ( seen as AQF 6 by AITSL)

B.sc also is seen as a standard 4 year course (AQF 6 ) by Aitsl but without the initial teacher education incorporated into it as a standalone degree.

But when you add the initial teacher education at a post graduated level , it becomes a 5 year course now comparable with AQf 7 of Australia standard.( now seen by Aitsl as AQF 7). This information is even available on their site.(check list pages 7 ,cool

There is an option for AQF 6 qualifications + ITE.(initial teacher education ) please analyse all the information on have on this subject you will know I am saying the truth.
I have someone that will access before the end of the year .(I think ATM the pathfinder has information overload.)

I'm responding based on the feedback from the assessor even after quoting their guidelines to them.
Can you clarify with the following scenarios (SC) and state whether positive or negative assessment should be expected?

SC1: B.Ed from Tier 1 University =

SC2: B.Ed from Tier 2 University (4 year course) + Pgde =

SC3: B.Ed from Tier 2 University (4 year course) + M.Ed =

SC4: BSc or B.A from Tier 2 University (4 years course) + Pgde =

SC8: BSc/BA/BTech/BEng from a Tier 1 University + Pgde =

SC9: Bsc/BA/BTech/BEng from a Tier 1 University + MEd =

The aim is to be able to help as many people as possible.

SC1: B.Ed from Tier 1 University = positive assessment. ( AQF 7 + ITE)

SC2: B.Ed from Tier 2 University (4 year course) + Pgde =positive assessment (AQF 6 + ITE)

SC3: B.Ed from Tier 2 University (4 year course) + M.Ed = negative ( AQF 6)

SC4: BSc or B.A from Tier 2 University (4 years course) + Pgde =positive assessment (AQF6 +ITE)

SC5: BSc or B.A from Tier 2 University (4 years course) + M.Ed =negative assessment (AQF 6 ,no ITE) not even possible to get M.ed without a pgde.

SC6: BTech/BEng from Tier 2 University (5 years course) + Pgde =positive assessment (AQF 6 + ITE)

SC7: BTech/BEng from Tier 2 University (5 years course) + M.Ed = negative( not possible without first doing pgde. No ITE, AQF 6)

SC8: BSc/BA/BTech/BEng from a Tier 1 University + Pgde =positive (AQF 7 + ITE)

SC9: Bsc/BA/BTech/BEng from a Tier 1 University + MEd = negative (not possible without first undergoing pgde)

Points to note
You can only do M.ed if your background is in education example B.ed to M.ed
Or B.sc to pgde to M ed.
M.ed is not same initial teacher education.

For B.sc, B.tech, B.a your ITE is your pgde which is 1 year inclusive of 45 days teaching practice.

Hello

I have a question. I recently came across a video. In it, something was said about health care visa sponsorship. It said you could leave/pause your studies if you got the health assistant, diasability support worker visa sponsorship. This is for people in Australia.

Is this possible? Wouldn’t one have issues with the school and migration if you got the visa sponsorship?
