Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by sintolord(m): 3:00pm On Jun 13, 2023 |
2.2kw is high for a 1.5hp. Check your cables if it is properly sized. Better still, you can over size to compensate for high ambient temperature when in use in the afternoon. Also check for corrosion at the point where cables were joined together. This issue with this is, the point where the cables where joined, will be in the borehole. Golgota: |

Golgota: Pls clarify this statement, I don't understand it, thank you. Note: 1hp is 750 w. so 1.5hp should be 1,125 w. |

U need to av 1.5hp submersible to know aw much power they consume. Cause 1.5hp dey consume around 2kw for normal light n I'm sure it will b Abit higher for inverter. Oshomo12: 2 Likes |

Unless those borehole people come n dig it up. Dem bury the whole tin. The only cable I see is that of the one control box. sintolord: |

Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by TechGeek777: 12:39am On Jun 14, 2023 |
EmperorVamo: Is this quote for 12v or 24v system? The amount for panel will get you Original Jinko 475W from Gennex @ 129,500. 40A cc, you sure say no be PWM him go install for you? The amount quoted will get you 10mm² (2,200). Look for another installer please. Making profit is good, but making targeted weekly profit from an individual from a single deal/sales is something else. Always tell your prospective installer to state product name in the quote. You can reach out to installers here for quote! |

6mm for 50yards distance... There will b voltage drop oo. It's better u get 10mm EmperorVamo: |

Jefferyzz: Though I don't have a 1.5hp sub, but I have a 1hp sub, max I have seen and recorded is 650w. That's why I said, I don't understand your figure. I use it on the inverter. |

The water table (top of underground water to surface) varies from location to another location. Most likely where you live, the water table is not deep. Jefferyzz: |

TechGeek777: Most installers will eat ur present and future from outrageous quotes. Their greed will make solar unattainable and at the end they will make you feel as if they are doing you favour. 2 Likes |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by sintolord(m): 7:19am On Jun 14, 2023 |
2kw is still high. Probably the voltage drop (power loss) on your cable is high. Double your cables or switch to a higher size & good quality cable. If you do this, you will probably be seeing btw 1.6 to 1.7kw. Jefferyzz: 1 Like |

dollarnaira: Truth, in business I believe it's better to make 30k profit regularly (perhaps everyday) than make 100k profit once per week. Also, it will get you more referrals and that means more money. 2 Likes |

If you have not taken the plunge yet Going for Addo/Eastman setup will do you a big advantage of 1 year warranty on inverter/2 year on battery. You will need 2 battery for the inverter. fatherbeeman: 1 Like |

TechGeek777: I already started talking to Geenex for that exact Jinko 475w PVs before even coming to.post this here thank you very much This feels like a sign I'm going in the right direction. My existing backup setup is 2kva /24v Inverter 2 units of 220Ah /12v tubular batteries Please I'm tight on budget , I have just 350k to integrate solar on it ( basically to charge about 15 phones, power a 68W sound system , Starlink WiFi 75W Dc fans (24W ) × 5 1 laptop / computer (50W) From 8am to 5pm That's all Please can 1 545W Jinko panel serve this purpose? ( grid supply comes like 2 or 3 nights in a week and charges the system fully ) 1 Like |

Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by adrusa: 11:58am On Jun 14, 2023 |
Golgota: Same with mine. So, I'm surprised when people said their 1.5HP pump is consuming 1.5KW. Maybe this is related to the depth of the borehole. My borehole is about 100m with another 10m to the tank. My surge is 4.3Kw while steady is 2.1Kw. |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by adrusa: 12:02pm On Jun 14, 2023 |
Oshomo12: That may be show in arithmetic conversion, but measured values are different. As I said above my 1.5HP is 2.1Kw steady. |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by TechGeek777: 12:14pm On Jun 14, 2023 |
EmperorVamo: Assuming each phone is 10w (10w * 15) = 150. Therefore 150w + 68w + 75w + 120w (i.e 24w * 5) + 50w = 463w + 35w (inverter idle consumption) ==> 498w 498w * 9 working hours = 4,482w. Note: Based on the Pmax @ NOCT, the 545 Jinko panel is guaranteed to produce 405w, work with this value. Jinko 405w * 2 Panels = 810w * 3 sun light hour = 2,430(it's evidence that this cannot produce what's required to charge the listed devices above). Note: It's possible to get up to 4-5 sun light hour in Nigeria, but working with 3 hours will put you on safe side But if you should go for Jinko 545w * 4, it would serve you well. But you can manage the two panels if you seriously need to integrate solar. If I were you I would wait till my fund is complete for my desired setup. You can buy panels and keep while waiting! 2 Likes |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by TechGeek777: 12:19pm On Jun 14, 2023 |
EmperorVamo: Greed is simply the reason he insisted on 50 yards. If you are sure of 15 yard (45 feet), don't buy more than 18 yards (54 feet). The extra three yards is to make up for extra distance not calculated for. Insist he mention the names of each components. You shouldn't work with any installer that's not ready to state names of components. |

Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by TechGeek777: 12:28pm On Jun 14, 2023 |
adrusa: I believe this 2kw+, measured our newly installed pump last two months, steady draw was 2.2kw - 2.4kw+, while surge was heading to 5kw. I will measure it again with clamp meter since we recently changed the wire from meter control box to the surface of the underground pipe to 2.5mm comester. The pump depth 180ft plus from ground to surface, while from surface to thank is above 30ft. I strongly believe most 1.5hp consuming 2kw+ are 2hp labelled 1.5hp. But I will do the test again, perhaps this week when I have the time to know the difference now that new wires are used. 1 Like |
