Key players in the country’s downstream sub-sector of the oil and gas industry are seeking access to foreign exchange at a rate that will be friendly to their bottom-line. They also expressed concerns over what they described as haphazard implementation of the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA), especially, with regard to the withdrawal of petrol subsidy. https://leadership.ng/marketers-move-to-end-nnpcl-petrol-import-monopoly/ 5 Likes 2 Shares

When Dangote is already advocating for petroleum import licenses not to be issued to marketers who are not having refineries. Let's watch as the game progresses. 21 Likes |

Their worries is basically how to access FX, while NNPCL access FX from CBN at the government exchange rate, the marketers do so in the parallel market at a higher price. This is why it's very important for the BAT government to hastily do something on the FX Market and put a single exchange rate 34 Likes 2 Shares |

Wrong news headline. With deregulation, NNPLC will no longer be the sole importer, anyone can apply for and be granted a license to import and compete with the NNPLC. So no marketer moves anywhere, it is the expected trend. 4 Likes 1 Share |

aspabay:NnPCL remains the sole importer of refined petroleum products as far as Nigeria is concerned. The alleged removal of subsidy only means that the nnpcl will no longer sell below it's established price for fg to balance up. The nnpcl has powers to.issue import licenses to whoever is willing to play to it's rules on importation of products.fg will not determine on it. Get it now 2 Likes |
