*What if a beneficiary failed to secure employment after graduation? How will he/she pay back?* If the graduate is unable to secure a job two years after graduation, and ,therefore, unable to repay the loan, the person risks two years' imprisonment. |

richiemcgold: The loan becomes payable AFTER you get a job. What it means is that tax regulation especially PAYE will be heavily monitored and enforced. Once you show up on a paye in any state you are taken as employed. Your bvn is also monitored across all accounts, personal and corporate. Start s company account and your bvn will show up. |

Biodun556:Yeah, I've said it alot of times, it's a bad ID, school fees might start to Increase, those who can afford before might not be able to anymore and they will have to opt in for loans. This is thesame reason why school fees are ridiculously high in the United States, and its might be worse here in Nigeria for alot of reasons |

rexchazy:do you read at all or you chose to ignore the content? Every poor students will have access to education through loan. What should be your worry is that, will they make it transparent for all and sundry? You can't drop out of school if your parents cannot afford the fee. That's why he brought in the idea of students loan You can pay back after school when you start working 1 Like |

Re: Students Loan Begins September/october — Tinubu by dsenator: 6:21pm On Jun 14, 2023 |
Tinubu and the rest of his age mates enjoyed free quality education during their time courtesy late pa Obafemi Awolowo. I still remember vividly the time of PA Jakande in Lagos, Chief Bola Ige in Oyo state and the rest of the UPN governors, all gave us free and quality education. This student loan that is being introduced by this administration is definitely not what the students need at this time, what should be done is to at least reduce the tuition fees being charged by our tertiary institutions to what can be affordable to the majority of the students. The money earmarked for this loan should be used to subsidize the project if the need arises. 1 Like |
