Converting vv to close work permit isn’t easy. Don’t let any agent sweet talk o. My wife is an int’l student, I’ve bn helping her apply for jobs. Most employers will ask if you’re legally allowed to work in Canada, they don’t want to go through that stress on getting LMIA. Getting a menial job isn’t that easy, I’ve applied to over 200 jobs for my wife, it’s not that easy o. He should have minimum of 3 months living expenses with him, the route is 50/50, no guarantee when he will land a sponsored job.

You can introduce him to this thread, let him read and understand the process n apply himself, that will save agent fee. He can try n if he gets the visa, enter and try is luck. It’s difficult to get LMIA jobs doesn’t mean it’s not possible.

Your visa application has been approved or refuted, in your case , I believe it was approved.
The enemy in this case is VFS.

You should exercise patience , and do more of sending emails to VFS going forward.
Congrats on your relocation to Canada , do well to make us proud. Try to get jobs if you a tech person , start right out with vanhack.com and see if you can also get Jobs there.

Or check webs for companies that offer LMIA, and see if you can secure open or closed permits. Once again , best of luck.

If I were to suggest and advice , I wouldn't know your background, but nearly everyone I been in contact with with other backgrounds are migrating to tech. I'd say for easier and safer landing , would you consider that?

Since my wife travelled for her PGD, I’ve bn the one helping her with job applications. For international students who is legally allowed to work to struggle landing a menial job, imagine how difficult it will be for someone on visit visa. During job application when filling the questionnaire, employers always ask if you’re legally permitted to work, most of them don’t want to go through that stress of getting LMIA.

I won’t advise anyone not to try, just make adequate plans. Have something you can fall back on incase that doesn’t work out. I know the situation of the country, I know not everyone will have the opportunity to use PR or study route, but pls make good plans. Don’t put all your hope in what’s not 100% guaranteed. Agents will only sweet talk to cash out leaving you to your reality when you land. I remember how agent sugarcoated things for my younger brother, she told him rent is 50 cad, Job is easy n all. I had him introduce him to Nairaland study thread to see people’s experiences, he got to Canada n blocked the agent after realizing she lied to him.

I talked about it being hard. I never said it's gonna be easy , at the same time, you have to know how to use most search engines and filter very well. Just as I showed you. You don't leave all for God , manna has stopped falling .
At the same time , let's also learn to hear other peeps opinions. I shared a screenshot for him to see , so as to know how to tailor his search rather than insult people. Insults are permitted, but I showed you, and showed him and the public, and I never requested a dime from you neither from anyone.

The trick is to go to villages not towns
Villages have pre- approved LMIA because everyone wants to be in the city.
They flagpole and got closed work permit
I no get power to explain
When I get my visa stamped, Na to move to Rural area.
Another thing, learn 5 weeks truck driving in naija, do an internship in any company for 2 months even if its unpaid, and also try and get truck license in Naija.
Enter canada , truck driving full everywere with LMIA jobs
Even on canada job bank, all truck driver vacancies are lmia approved because it's under the shortage skill occupation. With your liecense just enter Brampton, enough LMIA for truck driving with the Indians and also you can learn and get licensed in canada on visitor visa but it will cost you almost 10k cad, so learn in nigeria and use your liecense to apply for their liecense and do the test, if you pass, glory to God.

Things are only difficult for those without information and preparation before travelling.
Get a skill on the shortage list, you are good to go.

But it is not easy or a day job, just go prepared and have contingency plans to fall back to sha.

A guy I follow on LinkedIn, he’s a 3D animator, got a job from Nigeria and the studio funded is relocation to Canada. Those in that industry can check Icon studio, they’re always hiring. There’s this guy I also follow on YouTube, he’s a full stack developer, he also got one. There’s even a thread on NL for close work permit, ( https://www.nairaland.com/7151873/canada-closed-work-permit ) people can check that out. But the reality is it doesn’t come easy.

firstly,lmia is extremely hard compare to how the greedy agent portal to me before coming to Canada , and most recruiter are not ready to listen to your visitor visa story even for mental jobs ,secondly rent is very expensive if you have no SURE family or SURE friends becos many people themselves are managing and do not want to tell you their real life struggle until you land and see for urself ..i only work fews time for cash based on job l see on facebook advert which is not constant and even to get house they require ur local id and want to run credit check or somebody to stand for you to get accommodation which is not cheap and sharing like 3 to 4 people in a room not allow ...landlord go tell you only one person allowed even visitor go get number days he can spend so how will a person maintain this huge expenses without a constant job becos even for student to get job are not easy in Canada forget what you ready online when you land you go face reality.and l see some people option for asylum but it a 50/50 chance if you claim fail na deportation order direct.even people who claim asylum, Ontario govt last week say them no receive funding from govt so you on ur own for accommodation you can see it in the news ..asylum seeker may end on street soon due to cut in govt funding and canada govt to give priority to citizen due to homelessness ...my guy the Canada journey is for a strong mind ....please anybody with vv can come but be prepare not based on sweet talk from motivational speaker or blogger that only want to get more followers!! I ask questions , and make real in depth research before I say anything , secondly I second with facts and not fallacy.
His skillset does not in anyway fall in the NOC and he wants to live in the city , rather than seek solace elsewhere , where things would be better for him, Unable to ask the right questions, he debunks things without even making adequate research then shout someone else down who wants to help people understand things can be easily sorted in a way.
