I was in Niger for a whole year in 2021 and I can assure you there's nothing like that. First of all, the bandits are still active as we speak.
Secondly, most of the offensive against the bandits is led by local vigilantes who are familiar with the terrain. So he might have been given a contract for somewhere else but definitely not Niger.

Naira continues to fall in the I/E and parallel market. 4. All the FG has done so far is abandon almost all responsibilities it has over the people through the bills being signed since May 29. Tompolo is the major force on ground, even from the days of the agitation. Tompolo was Mend. The action guys that carried out audacious attacks, having the capacity to strike 100s of miles in open sea. Quite, not outspoken but the main man, the force to be reconed with.
Asiri seemed to be the more political figure, despite him having his followers too, but not on the same level as mend.
Certainly asari feels an injustice has been done to him by gov recognizing Tompolo with the security contract.
