If we were a serious nation interested in progress or to become like developed nations, immunity would have since been removed from all elected leaders except Mr. President!

Remove immunity from all governors, and you will see serious development and progress across states!

Do the same for Legislators, and watch how they become really serious about their jobs!

The reason why elected and appointed leaders spend more time looting and stealing rather than working hard to succeed for their people is because of this Immunity from prosecution while in office!

I agree that the power vested in governors is above the board. But removing their immunity while in office will invite chaos and senseless litigations on their persons. I bet you, we cannot stand the kind of political crisis that will sweep across the nation. Bad as it may, stability is very important before you can make any progress.

My view is that the constitution be reviewed to cut down the powers accrued to them. Move some more powers to the legislative as well as judicial arms. Sadly, some people aren't paying enough attention that our legislative arms are dying pretty fast across the country.

Governors now handpick house speakers, while the president appoints the senate president and house of rep speaker. sad

do they also owed workers salaries like Ortom? This is 6 months now. Workers were paid only November salary. From December till May, they weren't paid. He needs to explain what he did with the money.

So EFCC Has started hunting Governors for not paying salaries?....OK o... that's fine

Boss, that alone will sanitize the electoral process of getting into the governorship by ensuring that only those with clean records and consciences contest for the office.

Under normal circumstances, there should be a high level of decency and a clean slate of records for anyone vying for Governorship! How can lowlifes and crooks get into office, only to be protected from scrutiny and prosecution while in office? Makes no sense!

Remember how New York Governor had to resign due to the scandal and accusations of sexual impropriety?

The sudden absence of an independent, uncompromised, and efficient Legislature from Federal to State is a whole new topic for another day! SMH! embarassed

I can only take EFCC seriously when they arrest and interrogate former Niger state governor Abubakar Sani Bello. That man deserves a space in Kirikiri prison for the disaster he brought on the Nigerlites.
God's retribution awaits the wicked!

In as much as I don't like Ortom for his mismanagement of Benue State fund and poor performance, I expect that no one should be treated as a scapegoat because he's not in the ruling party. Ex-Governors like Ganduje of Kano and Wike of Rivers should be in EFCC dragnet by now. These guys stole blue and white! Tinubu should prove that he's not out to witch hunt anybody. If a criminal case is proven, then no one should be spared. No sacred cows!!

What about former Aviation Minister Hadi Sirika aka " Nigeria Air"

and

the former Humanitarian Minister, Sadiya Umar Farouq.

These two Ministers ran their ministries like personal ATM machines.

Oh...and that insane Malami guy. Ah...not to forget Kyari too. There were a lot of shady things going on with the Justice ministry and the NNPC.
And this is just scratching the surface....
