Kudos to Airtel for partnering with Nokia to give unlimited data to rival Starlink. Starlink shakara too much customer service response non existent will definitely drive their clients to Nokia and Airtel
not only Nokia. Combination of many vendors, ZTE, Huawei

MTN shouldn't have upgraded to 5G at all, because they were better of when they were on 4G

I experienced the same issue with MTN 5G. When I was there last month, about 10 mins after landing at MMA I got an sms from MTN alerting me that my device (Iphone 12 pro max) is now configured for 5G and to enjoy the service. The system automatically figured that out once I connected to the network. Well, before this message my data was working fine without issues. However, my data speeds became very slow and barely usable despite the device showing 5G and I think 5G+ sometimes. Bottom line, I had to go into cellular settings and change it to LTE from 5G Auto. Thought it was just the airport, so at a different location I changed it back to 5G Auto, but the speeds were still terrible. So I switched back to LTE and used that successfully throughout my stay there.

Dagbo 5G

5G that cannot sustain HD voip call na 5G be that?

5G when neither Airtel nor MTN sell 5G sims is that one 5G?

You will assume that these silly networks provide 5G until you need them for mission-critical real time communication. Na that time you go know say their 5G na for mouth
None of the 5G is available on your phone SIM for now. For you to enjoy MTN 5G for now, you have to purchase their router at the cost of 50k first. I'm sure you are not using the 5G router because as at now it is damn very fast

Once price of Starlinks drops massively, body go tell una...!

5G network ought to be in every major city of Nigeria by now!!!

The world is more Online than Offline these days... It's quite shameful that we are still struggling with Network accessibility up till now!

It won't change much. 99% of Nigerians can't afford Starlink.

The 5G deployed in Nigeria by both MTN and Airtel is the NSA(Non-Standalone) variant of 5G. It's the same kind used in 95% of the countries where 5G has launched. It relies on existing 4G infrastructure. Therefore, existing 4G sims work fine, no need for an upgrade.

However, SA(Standalone) 5G and mmWave used in very few countries, albeit with limited availability, requires a sim upgrade. These types of 5G are more expensive to deploy, especially mmWave, hence the reason they aren't widely available.

Is that a switch underneath the router? Do you use it to distribute the MTN 5G router connection via lan?

By the way, the image up there looks like an office. You guys may consider getting Starlink. That's what I have been using since February, and it's unlimited.
Attached is my usage so far this month.
