Hello, my wife is a medical laboratory assistant. She intends to study dental assistant at one of the colleges. Do you think is in line with her profession or she should go for health care assistant, or personal support worker. I am looking for something that will be in line with her medical profession |

sunkanmi2211: In my case, eligibility review was completed before medicals. Normally, the eligibility review is conducted before requesting medical examinations, except for cases where upfront medicals are provided by applicants. This is based on the reasoning that it doesn't make sense to ask the applicant to undergo costly medical examinations if their eligibility for the visa hasn't been determined yet. I can't speak about the cost of IOM medical in Nigeria, but over here, the cost of medical examinations for one adult is £350, which is quite expensive. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Hope4Naja: Health care assistant and PSW is preferable. these two are broad and she can fit into the health care industry quickly, the dental option will restrict her to dental part which in itself is not bad but it is not broad |

Hope4Naja: All of these professions fall under the healthcare field. Your wife simply needs to effectively express her motivation and rationale for choosing her desired course in her Statement of Purpose (SOP), in order to demonstrate study/career progression convincingly. In addition to impressing the visa officer, it would be wise for your spouse to thoroughly research and evaluate the job prospects associated with each program option. Ultimately, we both understand that deep down we are aiming for permanent residency (PR), and securing a job more quickly and easily after completing the program is a significant step towards that goal. |

MightyRance: Yes, having a travel history to Canada and a record of entering and returning from the country will have a positive impact. However, it's important to consider other aspects related to the study permit that you need to establish e.g. financial status, purpose of study, etc. Please read through the threads for more information. |

MightyRance: To butress the other person's response, I'll answer this way. It WOULD not have a negative impact on your application. I have seen cases of people who had travel history and got rejected. The notes would say something like "while the applicant has some travel history, it is not enough to show that they would leave Canada at the end of their studies. For this reason, I am...". Summarily, just prepare a very good application as though you do not have a travel history. If you have a good application, then your travel history is a plus. If it's not, then your travel history can't help. Wish you the best! 4 Likes |

Hi friends, I'm asking this on a friend's behalf.... He has someone that want to support his financial obligations, and the person is writing an affidavit of support. He is concerned maybe he need to spilt the whole funds as gift deeds and the remaining as Sponsor's account or leave the whole funds in the sponsor's account. |

Yhelay: He should be more concerned about proving the sponsor source of income, relationship with sponsor, who the sponsor is and whe he or she should spend so much money on his education 1 Like |

MightyRance: Provided that you abide by the conditions of visitor visa, you should be fine applying for study permit. You didn't even need to leave Canada to apply if you could still stay based on the condition of your visitor visa. 1 Like |
