GloriousGbola: Personally I think Hamzat will be the Deputy governor for next 4 years . I think the odds are in his Favour sha. He will however be unable to achieve his life long dream of being the state governor in years to come because even his own party members will weaponize this citizenship issue later . 1 Like |

AFRICA REMAINS CENTREPIECE OF NIGERIA'S ECONOMIC, FOREIGN POLICY, SAYS PRESIDENT TINUBU IN PARIS. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Friday in Paris-France said Nigeria will sustain its spotlight on African countries as the fulcrum of its policies on economy and foreign policy, assuring that trade issues, security and border controls will be mutually implemented. Receiving the President of Benin Republic, Patrice Talon, after the Summit on New Global Financing Pact, President Tinubu noted that bilateral relations with African countries, particularly at the sub-regional level will be enhanced for shared benefits in areas of security, health, energy, education and diplomacy. "We are ready to improve relations. Africa has been the centrepiece of Nigeria's foreign policy," he said. "I believe in Africa. We have the necessity to grow the continent. The world's economy is wobbling, and Africa has been left behind. On risk factors, Africa is always placed high, with higher interest rates on borrowing. We are always classified as high risk. We must work together for systematic recovery and growth," he added. President Tinubu described Nigeria's relations with Benin as that of siamese twins, joined at the hips, and supported by other friendly countries. "We must recognise the fact that we need each other. We are in a loop and no one should separate us, " he stated, assuring that his administration will always be open and accessible to all neighbouring countries. "I just appointed someone who will work with you as Comptroller General of Customs, Adewale Bashir Adeniyi, and he will be available for our common interest," the President noted. The President of Benin said he was inspired with renewed hope for the sub-region and Africa at the inauguration of President Tinubu in Abuja, pledging to provide support on trade and security policy, especially at the borders. "We are prepared to work with you, Your Excellency, in implementing policies that will protect our economies at land and sea entries. Whatever is forbidden in Nigeria will also be forbidden in Benin," Talon added. President Tinubu also had bilateral meetings with Swiss President, Alain Berset, and President of the African Development Bank, Dr Akinwunmi Adesina. BlueRayDick: This dual citizenship thing, they will find a way to resolve it. cos if not Hamzat, I believe Gbaja(a potential 2027 Lagos guber candidate) is also likely to a be a US citizen even many of these current governors and many who contested governorship spent significant years of their youth abroad Makinde, Dapo Abiodun, Tonye Cole Kashamu etc How many young men who are in their 20s 30s wont jump at dual citizenship when they are still struggling Don't forget that Tinubu is also alleged to have Guinean citizenship All these are arguable in court, E.g I used to think US birthright citizenship was limited to those born in US soil/territory until Ted Cruz went to prove it that it covers you if any of your parents in American even if you were not born on US soil you are still a birthright citizen Ted Cruz had a Cuban father, American mother and was born in Canada, He only gave up his Canadian citizenship when he was contesting for US presidency |

raumdeuter: Whatever way they find around it, the oarty would not want to field a candidate with a controversies . Since Tinubu left if u notice each of the candidates they fielded have been people with clean records , that was why Tinubu could call Ade Dosunmu a thief while campaigning for Fashola back then and PDP couldn’t come up with anything against Fashola . Even Ambode that succeeded Fashola didn’t have any issue hanging around his neck when he contested under the party’s Umbrella . Sanwoolu today , nobody has accused him of stealing money while at LSDPC . I doubt Hamzat will ever near that post with these whole thing . As for Gbaja , it remains to be seen if the “real Lagosians” will back him to be the first indigene to actually become the governor since 1999. 1 Like |

BlueRayDick: At this point Gbaja and Hamzat are the front runners for Lagos governorship and both of them are likely to have dual citizenship SanwoOlu you say no get scandal? No be him Ambode say get psych issues and was admitted to a hospital? None of these guys in politics have a sparkling clean record though some might be dirtier than others. The issue of dual citizenship is even the least of the problems and many Nigerian politicians and their children are sitting on that table Think of Adeleke, Sarakis, Tinubus, In the SW and I will say most of Southern Nigeria, Almost all major family have their prominent sons with dual citizenship Almost all middle class guys in Nigeria in the past 20yrs gave birth to their kids abroad or will travel and get citizenship. They wont want to set a precedent that will backfire on them in future 2 Likes |

I worked for Waziri Atiku Abubakar to win. I pray he unseats Tinubu at the Presidential Election Petition Court. And I am not pursuing any political appointment, or job offer from Tinubu. However, it is false to assert that Bola Tinubu did not attend Chicago State University. I went there physically. I did a video broadcast from their campus. I met their officials. Tinubu attended and graduated Chicago State University with honours, and they even have a photo of him in their alumni office as one of their most accomplished alumni. Not only did I go there physically to expose Tinubu (only to find out that he attended), I also asked their registry to put what they told me in writing. Attached is the letter they gave me. You can also go there physically, as I did, or email or phone them if you doubt this letter given to me. The man is no saint. His past cartel links indelibly taint him. But let us be fair, honest and transparent as we oppose him. If we attack Tinubu based on lies, God will just disappoint us further and appoint him greater. - Reno Omokri
