I'm not an APC fan, but if LP or PDP was in charge today, nothing would have changed.

The problem with Nigeria is simple. We sell raw materials, not manufactured goods, and import stuff. And because we do not set the price of what we import, we never earn as much revenue as we would have if we were exporting manufactured goods.

That's a large part of the reason why we are broke and looking for loans. The prices of what we sell never reach the level where it would provide adequately for our needs. Also, we make matters worse by using oil money for everything...including subsides...which worsens our debt level when the costs of subsidy rise.

That is why we have a bad economy, and all this complaining we are doing...was done when PDP, the army was in power. Even when NPN was in power, people said the same thing.

We also do not have jobs because we overimport. As a result we don't make nothing...and thus no jobs.

So, we are in so much debt that we had to remove subsides because if we kept them, we would have gotten broke in a few years....

The problem with Nigerian parties and government is that they want to share oyel money...yes, that includes even Biafran groups, Boko Haram, and a host of other things. Ask them to promote measures for us to make phones for export, or radios for export, and we would get blank stares.

That milk cost N1 did not mean that oga husband and father could afford it...salaries were probably somewhere around N100-200, and then you still had to pay rent and stuff.

Plus until 1984, some food items, milk inclusive, were heavily subsidised. The subsidy was removed because thanks to the oil price collapse of 1982, we just did not have the money to keep milk down.
