At N500 a litre? Power supply from the national grid remains the cheaper option.

Well..
It depends on location. Some parts of this country get light twice in a week and the bill keeps coming

This would make people get prepaid metres by all means and manage power consumption. And also encourage investors in the power sector thereby resulting to competition and steady power. Trust me steady power is still always far cheaper than running generators

It's currently our biggest corruption. Oil marketers lie about fuel consumption and get paid for it. They get the fuel cheap due to subsidies and smuggle the fuel to neighboring countries to re-sell. This is not godliness but corruption.
Crude oil is smuggled out of the country. So the solution is to ban crude oil production so that smugglers won't have opportunity to smuggle out crude oil?

Interesting

They should give everyone prepaid meters.
That way we ration our usage and only pay for what we consumed. Anything less is fraud.
The truth is that prepaid meters only works well in developed countries where the houses are fully built and electrified.
You are just a tenant and move in and buy your meter credit.
Here in Nigeria, that we buy land and build house, then buy meter and call nepa and electrician to connect it,
what is to stop my hand from changing the meter connection in the night? I'm the one that built the house.
I'm the one that knows how I wired it to the meter.
So we will still successfully cheat nepa by bypassing the meter. And they will still lose.
I lived in UK for 4 years. I didn't even see ONE WIRE ANYWHERE. In the house, on the street, in school ... NOTHING. NO WIRE.
All connections were professionally done and properly concealed. You cannot do illegal connection there to bypass meter. Impossible.

Not surprised, subsidy on electricity is gone too.
Now it's free market capitalism that punish the lazy and idle more severely.
It will soon reach the politicians who live on a fake life of free money.

All their accounts are now flagged on surveillance by CBN, NFIU and EFCC. Social media addiction that kills productivity and fuel wastage of scarce resources can now go down too.

If you can pay 100k for your residence monthly, then you should afford solar to power your home.

If you bypass your meter, they will know. They would only give you time to enter the trap well and then come for you. But they must come. The only exception is if you are bribing the feed manager of your area and he/she wouod keep overlooking your illegal connection.

Prepaid meter works in Nigeria. It is NEPA that brings and connects. Except you are tired of the eternal waiting list, then you can buy yourself and they will come connect.

The only solution is Nigerians must shun tribalism and religion expecially (y0l0ba Muzlems) and hold these politicians responsible. Or else we will all die.

This is just one month into office, hope Nigerians will not come to a situation where we will miss Buhari.

The only way that can make me and all well meaning Nigerians with this useless electricity company is only if prepaid meters are given to all households. My prayer is those who are behind the refusal of the company to distribute the meter will live to regret taking the job. I hate seeing my fellow human claiming he is no more a tax giver to electricity company popularly called NEPA or PHCN whichever because they have no business with them physically again. Pay for what you consume and not pay without consuming

Subsidy on electricity is also gone! Eti je aaro ati Osan papo, it's now time of reckoning.

Anyone who still wants to keep having multiple children he or she can not feed, clothe and train but hoping that govt will do so can go ahead. It is waste of time calling any youth lazy again o.

Even companies will start charging you for using their data and electricity to charge your phone to do your social media idle fun time again.

You are the type that will support a government that impoverish all in the name of tribe, keep it up.

COMPAQ:

Are you considering that with 24hr electricity, bills will almost triple!? The issue is not really about 24hrs it's about paying the appropriate price for what you use.l, even if it's for one hour.

Even if they increase it to N90 per unit, electricity from a gen ranges from N250 to N500 per unit, depending on the type and size of gen.

And if you doubt my calculation, if you have a typical 3.5kva gen, that outputs about 3000watts and will last 12 hours. The 3000w is 3Kw and used for 12 hours so in Kwh that's 36kwh. If you put 20litrs of petrol for those 12 hours @ 500 per litre =N10k

So N10k divided by 36Kwh = N277 per Kwh.

You don't get the point, even 200 per unit is not too much if you can do anything with power at any time of the day. You will save more money you would've used to power your generator and filling the gas.

For instance, you can use electric cookers to cook your meals at anytime you want, you won't have to fuel your generator to watch that particular match or movie. All these save cost, you cant be paying over #100 per unit and still be spending on generator and gas. It doesn't make any sense for you to be paying through your nose and still not sure of having light at anytime you need it.

Ignorance is always loud. Do a research on the the number of things the government of the countries you mentioned subsidize for the citizens by way of safety nets before you continue where your progenitors left off in sacrificing everything for the corrupt politicians to loot.

complexstuffs:

1) South.Beasts remain the most etno-religious bigots in the country because only a lunatic will vote such a failure as the Pandora criminal who's only political reason is because he is a Christian.

2) Didn't LAMBA your Messiah also promised to remove fuel subsidy as one of his campaign promises?

3) America, US, Canada etc are countries where subsidies were removed yet many Nigerians are queuing at their embassies daily for visa. Do you ask yourself why that is so?

4) Obi or any other South.Beasts will never smell the presidency for the following reasons
a) South.Beasts are 3rd class citizens in Nigeria and we will never allow a person of such low status rule over real citizens
b) South.Beasts don't have leadership qualities because they are too emotional, bitter, hateful, BIGOTED to be able to make logical decisions

In my earlier post, I stated that South.Beasts don't have leadership qualities because they are too emotional, bitter, hateful, BIGOTED to be able to make logical decisions.

One of the biggest campaign promises LAMBA made was immediate removal of fuel subsidy.

What were the things LAMBA promised to use to cussion the effect of fuel subsidy removal?
