It is not an issue. I renewed my passport before submitting it to VFS without filling a webform and my passport was stamped. Since a staff told you that it not a problem, you don't have to worry about it. The good thing about the renewed passport is that the embassy will give you visa that has the same duration with your passport

DHL said my documents is in the Abuja office. I am thinking of going to get it back on Monday to submit myself.

Did you just goto the lagos office because the email they sent to us was that in person appointment is not possible. We dont even know the process to pay for courier. After sending them the courier fee where will we send the receipt of payment to. Please someone assist with how to collect stamped passport. Thank you. This is the email we got that passport is ready. We sent the passport to Lagos, does this mean the pickup is Abuja. Confusing.

Thanks sis, I left VFS around 4:30 yesterday if not i over smart them I was giving 300+ but guess I enter when they are calling 130 to 190 lol, as at that time people still plenty waiting to collect their passport.

Depends on where you landing. Choose a province and one city. Go online and look for tourist sites in that city. Choose a date when you expected to travel and return e.g August 1 2023 to August 14 2023.

Yes. The main reason why we renewed was because we had only a year left on the old one, but we were informed by someone who recently got her visa (she has Never been to Canada) that they give according to what you have left on your passport so she went and got a 10 year passport and got a 10 year tourist visa.

In order to maximize that, we went and got a 10 year 64 page passport as well. Fingers are crossed. I hope they give us a mutuple entry 10 year visa too.

My family (spouse and 4 children) applications were submitted to IRCC on (3rd of January 2023), they completed and passed medical exams. My husband’s application and that of 2 other children has been approved since May 4th, 2023. While we have 2 children pending.
On 26th of April 2023, we received a Correspondence Letter for one of them L..................................................... from IRCC and since then, I have not received any further progress on the applications. I tracked the application online, and I observed that it has been approved, and Visa details visible on the online account, however no communication from IRCC on Passport Request.
For the second child ........................................................... have been in limbo as there has been no update on his application. I have contacted IRCC numerous times via webform and email, but my voice and concern were never addressed.
May I kindly seek your help and intervention to investigate and address the issue as soon as possible? This delay and experience have been affecting me psychologically and physically as I have been away from my husband and children for over 12 months. Update: If you declare more number of days to spend in Canada at the Immigration stand you are most likely going to be asked to show the money you have with you to spend in addition with mandating you to open your bank app to check your balance and do conversions immediately (You know the current exchange rate now? So go prepared) Not only about the PTA/BTA you have at hand, they want to know if you have sufficient money back home.

Although they didn't ask me many questions when I entered Canada on Monday, they did inquire about how long I would be staying and where in Canada.

Even if you intend to stay for 5 months, I don't think it's appropriate to let them know that at the port of entry, especially if you stated in your application that you are employed, because a 5-month annual leave will be strange to anyone.

Your best option is to buy a flexible plane ticket. Flexible flight tickets are those that allow passengers to change the travel dates as they wish or cancel the ticket for refunds. They are expensive than regular ticket.

I don’t know if open ticket is still available. You can talk to a travel agent to see if you can get one.

This is just my personal opinion, I might be wrong.
