If I want to apply myself from UK

What do I need and the link for the application

Follow normal visa application (separate application)
1.) Use old portal : http://cic.gc.ca OR
2.) Use new portal

You can apply on the new portal.

Generate invitation code
https://ircc.canada.ca/visit-visiter/en/get-account-ircc-portal/

Portal for application
https://portal-portail.apps.cic.gc.ca/signin?lang=en

3.) In the area of documents , include a cover letter indicating you have visas with your visa numbers and visa stickers (if possible) , and that you are responsible for funding the baby's trip etc. Show birth certificates showing you have a tie to the baby.

4.) If it's the same application, on the form include the child's name , indicate the baby will come with u to Canada.

That's it I think , it covers all.

I really appreciate.

The application is for me, my husband and my son.

Do we need to get letter from the school because he's still a student and Do I also need to get letter from my place of work?which might be difficult to get...

How much do you think I should have in my UK account as POF and do I need to run POF in my naija account. What will be the cost for the POF.

I think the birth certificate is okay in this case. Getting that letter from his school also is good , but I'm not sure it's needed in this case. It's overkill. grin. You can try getting affidavits If you need a stronger proof (overkill too, birth certificate is fine in this case, but someone like me, I'd try to get an affidavit, just in case)

Why do you want to get a letter from your place of work? Personally I do not see a reason why you need that.

For the POF I cannot give a high estimate , neither would I give a low estimate. It should have a detail on your payslip (this is what I deem necessary to show income has inflow from a regular source) there after you can include your savings in GBP which shows you can take care of the child.

What the visa officer wants to see is , you have a regular income , instead of static money. I hope you understand what I mean.

We thank God. You can also add this: If you have a house in Nigeria that pays rent , you can include the account statement to them as well. The reason is this

1.) It shows in future , that child would apparently be a heir to that property
2.) It shows ties to home country
3.) It shows you and this child would one day come back to Nigeria to have some form of establishment one way or the other
4.) the child is a beneficiary to funds acquired from that house one way or the other.

Just endeavour to make your application bullet proof. So they do not see a reason to return the application.

Afridavit for what please and what do you mean by saying overkill?

What's the minimum amount you can suggest I should put in my GBP account. Do I need to still submit my property documents in Nigeria? The account statement must be how many months?

Can I use only my own account for everyone? I have good GBP inflow but to static amount inside is the problem? What you suggest?

I really appreciate your response

When I mean overkill => it's excess documents which shows ties , but may not be needed at that time.
Affidavits => proof that the child is yours in this case and detailing the hospital details, person who was present at that time of childbirth etc. (Shows something sworn in court is legit)
The account statement needs to be at least 4 - 6 months and you should bring statements for both UK and Nigeria.

My 2 cents.

when you got your visa, did you get it according to the duration on the new passport ? Was it a tourist visa?

Someone else replied my thread and said I should inform them, but I think its too late since it will be ready for pick up in days. I'm confused. Should I just be patient and stop worrying?

Hi Dude listen,

I'd suggest you go on air and seek the opinions of people who recently traveled, I'd say you don't get to be turned back at YYZ because those immigration officers don't give a hoot most times about what you bringing. They have presumptions you coming with cash , money in credit cards and what have you. My guess is , you settling in Toronto? It's expensive out there!

An Indian gave a breakdown of what he or she spent on a visit , and sum totalled to 2k Lakh rupees. How about you making an exchange to your local currency for 2k lakh rupees and see whats up?

Here you go https://www.quora.com/How-much-money-do-I-need-for-2-weeks-in-Canada

$1000 may be small , exchange rates are dwindling for Nigeria , we know , but it's post COVID for several years , companies need to recuperate , hence make gains , hence cost of things are likely to surge.
Think about it.

Thank you very much for your response. Pls what are some airlines that will not allow one to check in without return ticket?

What a question! Anyway, I don't know, but you can as well find out about those airlines and let us know.

Madam, buy a round-trip ticket and stop stressing yourself. If the child's father wants his child to visit him, then he should get a round-trip ticket, or he can take the risk by buying a one-way ticket if he likes.

I know this same issue has been exhaustively discussed here on this forum. You can read previous posts to see people's comments and suggestions concerning buying a one-way ticket.

Yes, the child will need it since he or she will be traveling as a visitor.

Although I entered Canada this Monday and wasn’t asked to show a return ticket, I still believe those traveling with visitor visas need to have one in hand in case they need to show it.

Some airlines will not even allow you to check in if you don't have a return ticket.

Boss you just dey enter everywhere, congratulations oh!. But why on God's planet will an airline be checking for return ticket on visit visa applicants grin Is the Canadian border patrol this cautious about strays or asylum seekers entering their country?

Visit => You stay for sometime and go back
Studies => You stay for a period until your course is completed, go back is not mandatory , its by choice.
Permanent residence => Almost canadian , can go and come back at will, almost same as studies
Citizen => coming back by choice grin

So to you, $1500 CAD is okay for 2 weeks?

Why are you ppl like this? grin

1) Are you in Canada?

2) In your bid to desperately help the intending traveller and to show that you have knowledge or show that you have a grasp on understanding the financial implications of staying in Canada for 2weeks. Granted you got that info from Google, why are you now acting defensive thinking I am faulting your suggestions?!
Is the intending traveller your girlfriend that you are trying desperately to impress? grin

3) In your bid to help the intending traveller, you are now quoting words in my mouth that am I possibly inferring from my post that 1.5k Canadian dollars is okay for two weeks?, when on the contrary I was only merely pointing out to you the fact that she mentioned 1000 usdollars PTA and not Canadian dollars as you posted from the Google screenshot?! You are even still saying she did not specify the type of dollars! Are you blind?
Please are you being paid for helping ppl here? Cos you are doing a downright murky job while at it.
What image are you trying to protect exactly on nairaland like this? grin
