Mofolam:it is not ment. They want the child to receive 24/7 care from both parents. They want the father + mother to go along with the child and cater for their child. Also work visa and visit visa are not even in alignment in any form so beats me that you are comparing your circumstances to the previous poster. |

zionuklove: Sure it will, What's the minimum cash should I have on this journey. I'm thinking of 1kBp. Please advice me. Do border control ask for this minimum cash at hand? I'm just been curious. |

Apologies if this has been asked before. Will it be seen as a red flag if I sponsor my 40 year old brother and his family for my wedding in the UK. They keep getting denied cause of bank statements. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by giselle237: 8:12am On Jul 12, 2023 |
babybenbaby:how many denials? Any for the UK? If his own personal circumstances are not good and you want to join family too… they will be seen as absconders… very difficult to get visa with such profile. The circumstances of the applicant is more important than the sponsor. … and that’s if the sponsor passes the financial checks |

Blessedsteph: Good morning Blessedsteph. The fathers are not being compelled to sign away their parental rights, they are taking a risking allowing their very young children visit another country without them .The office is only interested in the legalities not whether he is dead beat or not.It is a safeguarding and child protection issue not a personal attack on you. There is a big difference between parental responsibility and legal guardianship so he can do you a letter making you legal guardian while the child is within the Uk it has to be duly notarised and attached with court affidavit. Might have been easier to use a travel agency and all go as a group. This is quite some stress for a 9 days holiday but application can still be be approved as you have covered the basis but,if i was your caseworker i would be denying but am not so best of luck. |

Hi good morning, Your first paragraph does not apply to me as it has nothing to do with me but the lady who talked about her child being denied visa. On my own part, I do not need an agent to do anything for me, I have been traveling abroad for many years so I can probably teach an agent his job. Yes, We attached a parental consent notarized by court. And yeah, thank goodness you’re not caseworker. Even if the visa gets denied, I’d still be happy knowing I tried to fulfill my child’s wish.

So sorry about this. First, the duration of the trip is too long. She doesn't need a month and 9 days to attend a graduation ceremony. Also, she needs to show that she has a reason to come back to Nigeria. Does she have parents she takes care of in Nigeria? Does she have grandchildren she takes care of in Nigeria? Is she very active in her Church/Mosque? Does she have a CSR project she is passionate about? You need to discuss with your Mum and agree on what you can use as home ties. It's okay for her to be retired but there must be something that will make her want to come back to Nigeria so you need to think about it carefully. I suggest you wait before you reapply. She might not be able to attend the graduation. Next time, she can apply to travel for holiday. Let me know if you need help. 1 Like 1 Share |

Blessedsteph:the kids are too young for them to grant the visa of them going with you without their parents. 8 years old. Even if the parents signed and notarised, the authorities over here do not look at it the way you have presented. It’s a safeguarding issue to be honest. U can only wait for the outcome at this point. 1 Like |

Very simple. If the application is for your mum. Just state their “He is my son”. That’s what I type in each time for mum’s UK applications. abuhaneefah29: |

ChiefB:how much did you fill in your form that you have for the trip? So have some cash on you and then the rest can be on your credit or debit card. It all depends on you. If they want to check how much is in your account they are also able to check. |

giselle237: Thanks for your response. They have had multiple denials in various countries. Money isn’t really the problem with them. Despite the multiple property documents they always flag the bank statement. |

Blessedsteph:I was speaking based on the conversation with the other person who did not get their visa you might have misunderstood me. There is no need to be arrogant as there is nothing big in travelling abroad for many years we all still learn everyday. The suggested use of the travel agent was because it is registered as their business and they are allowed to arrange tours and stuff not that you have lack of knowledge. I was quite interested in the dynamics of the application that’s why i i commented. 4 Likes |

Cashmadam: The trip is not too long, these entry officers are just moving insane this days , my mum got her visa to attend my graduation and I stated on the application that she will be staying for a month. On the other hand, my friend’s mum application got denied because it was stated on the visa application that she would spend 10days in the UK. The entry officer stated on the refusal letter and I quote “ your application is not genuine because of your claim just to spend 10days in the UK as a first time visitor”. 2 Likes |
