The Army is saying they did a raid and killed 3 Bandits

The guy is saying the name on the ID card of the supposedly killed Bandit is a name of a Plateau indigene.

The guy is hoping it is not the local vigilantes that were killed and labelled BANDITS.

It's just like the Army raided a forest in Epe for Fulani herdsmen, and one of the names of the killed herdsmen is a Yoruba name.

I hope the Oyomesi appoints a prominent Isese practitioner from the royal family as the next Alaafin. Sadly, they'd up appointing either a Muslim or a Christian to hold one of the most prestigious titles in Yorubaland.

This is a prime example that shows slavery and colonialism in Africa never really ended but just changed form.

I don't know what business an African has on the throne as a king if they must promote foreign cultures (Islam and Christianity), which are evil and harmful to Africa as these cultures seek to erase the African native cultures and traditions.
Even if he has to be a Muslim or Christian, he has no right to stop traditional practices. It's not about him but the stool itself.

Lols, the average Nigerian doesn't really care about the humongous allowances of the National Assembly members once the government continues to fund useless pilgrimages to Saudi and Israel and the politicians build some mosques and churches in communities.

But let a lawmaker recommend that the government stop funding pilgrimages, then all hell will break loose.

When some people say the average black in Africa is less intelligent than his peers in other parts of the world, it seems insulting. But it's just the plain truth.

Most Nigerians will leave serious issues and be focusing on trivialities like religion, tribalism. Yet, hunger and privation know no religion or tribe.

Sorry , I actually thought it was spy that mentioned me ni.

I understand the people don’t trust security operatives to act within their rule of engagements in civilian territories , but I still think military intervention is needed to keep people in the southeast safe from IPOB and their sit at home enforcement

That's the problem. I want the military but I also recognise the biases by people that make up the military against SE people.
It's a valid issue.
Like it has been said, the buhari admin made it worse.

I know if the military is invited, there will alot of innocent people killed too.
Will the leaders and people of SE accept that happening as byproduct of intervention?
How is the army going to be checkmated to ensure an efficient operation in a place where there's massive trust deficit?

What happened to Benjamin Mendy is very unfortunate.

I hope that the false accusers are made to face very heavy penalties to serve as a deterrence to others. The law has to respond heavily to women who make such malicious and criminal slanders towards men and especially men in wealth and power.

HOWEVER, having said that, I hope we don't use this as an opportunity to actually minimize the fact that women are still as a matter fact a more endangered gender especially when it comes to domestic abuse, violence and sexual assault.

Women all over the world face a higher risk of violence from men, I mean we live in a world where some women are killed just for rejecting male advances.

Women's rights are only but a dream in a lot of countries, more than 3 billion women around the world are still seen as inferior in rights to their fellow men. In many countries, a man's words holds more sway in court than a womans'.
There still places where women are barred from going to that are only open for men, from stadiums to schools, to social clubs, to even stepping foot outside their homes without permissions of the male.

So yes, while what we've seen in this Benjamin's case is deplorable, it pales in absolute comparison to what the vast majority of women around the world actually faces and live through. So please do not use this as a cover to diminish the fact that indeed, women are actually passing through hell in the hands of men.

Every single one of us in our lifetime must have personally known a woman in our life who has been severely beaten by a man or men. My grandmother was one of many wives of my grandfather who saw hell in the man's hands and it was culturally acceptable. For some of you, it could be a sister, a friends sister, your mother, your female cousin, your niece etc. But you all know a woman who has told you of how her babe or her husband or even her father has beaten her severely as an adult.

So please once again, I beg you guys not use this as an opportunity to diminish the fact that indeed, women's existence are basically in danger in the hands of men all over the world. They are indeed denied rights and seen as inferior.

That is essentially the body of my post. The message I'm passing.

I recognize fully that what happened to Mendy is absolutely terrible and the girls are called out and made to face penalities as a deterrence to others.

But I am seeing some comments here which basically attacks the entire female gender of this and no mention of the fact that indeed women do prevalently suffer at the hands of men. I'm indeed stating the mutual exclusivity of the two.

True to form, you would rather we start name calling and insulting each other rather than speak civily amongst ourselves.

And as usual afraid of quoting directly but attacking from the sides. Cowardice as usual.

I hope Mendy and others learn from his ordeals and stay away from promiscuity, and also his accusers should be punished to teach others a lesson.
