I used it o.

Ask an Agent how to go about it.....maybe you can transfer it to a physical bank and email the statement to them, or maybe they would accept it like that. Just try and confirm from experienced people.

Hi, please i need advise on the most cheapest possible way to pay fees now that FORM A rate is almost the same as black market. or is there a bank with a very cheap rate for euro at the moment?

Pascal122:
For those yet to submit their visa at the embassy of VFS, here's a simple guide and tip to help you. I just submitted mine and I wish someone told me this.

1. The embassy will only take coloured photocopies of every document from you. So you need to need print photocopies of every single document, just the important ones. You can go with the original copies of your documents but after they see it, you will give them the coloured photocopies. They won't return any documents (apart from your passports) back to you. Hence make coloured photocopies of documents that are vital e.g NYSC certificate, birth certificate, and School certificates.

2. Make coloured photocopies of all the pages of your previous and current passport photographs. Make two extra coloured photocopies of just the data page of your current passport too.

3. There's a questionnaire you'll fill. Most of us didn't have it, so we bought it inside the embassy and filled it. After filling it, still make a coloured photocopy of the questionnaire and submit too.

4. They do photocopies at a cheaper rate inside the VFS office than outside. Don't listen to those people outside the building, go inside and you will make any extra copy for ₦100 - ₦200. This is for Lagos o.

5. You can pay for your passport taken inside there too. I think it's ₦1,800 or so. You can pay for this service online when booking your appointment or when you are there physically. Again it's cheaper than doing it outside.

6. Put your documents in files/envelopes and name them appropriately so you can give them out when you are asked.

7. Make sure you submit all the documents on your checklist, including the ones you weren't asked to bring. The lady forgot to ask me to submit my work reference letters, so I went back gave her.

That's all. All the best! We are all hoping for positive news.

What did you eventually use?
jaxeri:

It depends, if your program is starting September, I will advise you to use black market but if it's January you can use bank ( Form A).
Re: GENERAL Irish (student)visa & Work Permit-New THREAD*** by Rashreli: 4:46pm On Jul 14, 2023
Hi, I am also in the same dilemma, this new CBN policy on FX (FORM A) just doubled the cost of my fees. what have you resolved to use?
Phraser:
Hello, guys. I need your help on the best way to go about paying tuition fee, especially considering the currency fluntuation.

A Dublin-based university has just offered me an admission for a master's program. But I don't know the best, and cheapest way, to pay the tuition fee. Some people have told me to use a bank; some others, black market.

I'm confused, and I hope to get some insightful answers. Thanks in advance.

As long as banks won't sell fx the only other way is to sort from black market. Really challenging times for self funded students.

You'll pay online with your naira bank card online to book with VFS. Print your booking form, which will have your time slot there.

Then at the VFS, I paid ₦59,000 to the Irish embassy. They will ask you to pay with your via POS after you've submitted your documents.

Please I need advice on how to re-book an appointment on vfs.

I recently book a group appointment for myself and my family. On getting to the VFS Centre, I was told to book another appointment for them since I am the only one going for employment and their visa category is join family non-EEA.
Since then I have been trying to book the appointment but I keep getting INVALID REFERENCE NUMBER error.
Is there anybody who has experience this before and how do I go about it.

Thanks

I submitted my application on April 20th, and my documents were sent to the embassy on April 24th. My visa was approved on May 8th and I got my passport a week later on May 15th.

From what I read on their website, they process applications in the order in which they are received, and the study visa applications now being handled are those received in the final week of May.

Please this requirement of an additional letter from the bank, asides bank statement, confirming access to withdrawal of funds, did you guys do it too? Or just the bank statement alone is OK.

If you guys used the additional letter, please how did you request for it.

You’d need to fill out a new pre clearance and generate a new reference number. Same thing happened to me

Ask the bank for a reference letter to submit to the Irish embassy.
