You are not constructive.

The examiner didn’t bother to continue the questions. He cut you half way because you are saying too much. Also be short and punctual any further questions will leads you into reveling more details.

You were suppose to come back and work in your father's company... not find a job somewhere. It also means you can stay back to work in United state after your school.

Secondly 50 million annually is too small too make annually with the way you presented your father. You had no business with saying the amount he made annually(except they asked). The account statement already shows that.

You also had no business mentioning knowing anyone in the USA

In all psychologically... you didn't present or project your self well.

Doesn't add up.
You tried to be truthful but unfortunately your truth didn't help you in the interview.
Sorry about your visa being denied, look on the brighter side of life

the part that you said you have a student friend is not necessary. But you can try again, do not give up. some specifics are also missing from your transcripts like:
school
funding
deficit
program
etc

no proof to back it up, maybe the account statement you gave does not correspond correspond with the claim

I will be coming back to Nigeria for the compulsory national youth services, after which I will seek employment in top food companies and hotels, I will do that for a while because I will love to start up my own baking shop and culinary school where I can impact knowledge in those that are interested in culinary world.

it is expected that when you come back you will work for the family business
You are totally right
Re: Visa Denied by We4all: 5:21pm On Jul 21, 2023
Una still dey go US? You were denied because they need to deny certain people just to create the impression that the US is still the most sought after country.

In fact, they want you to still spend your money on Visa fees because that would mean more revenue for them.

The day Nigerian Government start mandating those useless embassies to start refunding Visa fees, there will be less Visa denials.

Your contact there is extremely weak (student), almost non existent.
You should be worried yourself that if anything serious happens to you there you will have scant cover.

Why do you think the VO needs to know your father earns 50 million annually. That is called name dropping and unnecessary information while trying to impress.

What most applicants are not aware of, is that your fate has been decided even before the interview. The consular officers are usually given quotas. Those quotas are used to determine who gets the visa and who's declined. Secondly, when booking for the appointment, make sure you use genuine supporting documents eg bank statement, transcript etc. If you're using an agent to do the booking ensure that he/she gives you a copy of the completed forms so that you'd be conversant with it. Those applying for B1/B2 visa class ( travel/tourism) stand at an advantage if you have a good travel history. I.e. you've travelled to many western countries or you have a very fat bank balance or proof of funds. If you don't have sufficient travel history ensure that the person sending you the invitation has a good job or is of reputable social standing, good credit, or not a felon. The sure route ( in my opinion) to getting Visa if you're a young person is the F1/F2 student or dependent visa category. It has a high success rate. When applying to schools, pick government owned institutions or Ivy league schools ( Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Stanford etc) Or schools like Louisiana state university, Michigan state or reputable HBCUs ( historically black college and universities) also ensure that you've paid some of the fees . This goes a long way to convince the consular officer that you genuinely intend to come over for schooling. Lastly, most consular officers are trained to look out for inconsistencies. That's why its important to memorize the answers to the questions asked in the form. Once they observe something not in tandem with what you've filled, instantly a red flag goes up. You can be declined based on that, irrespective of whether you have enough supporting evidence/documents or not. That's why its imperative that you're truthful at all times. Applicants are deemed to be a flight risk if they don't have strong country - tie. Eg you're not married, or have a good job/ business or something that will ensure you'll come back to Nigeria if you're given a visa. So in most cases if you don't have a strong country - Tie, there's a high probability you'd be declined. In summary, it's not what you say or don't say that determines whether you're given the visa. The consular officer already knows if he or she is going to give you de visa even before you appear. The interview is mere formality.

I know the white lady already saw the red flag with the capping prices. He probably practiced this interview that would be on her mind.

I know someone that got a US Visa last year and didnt even have to say much.

You are a wild card.

Obviously, your type is the type that won't return because you have no strong ties to your home country at all.

Hence, the visa denial.

You carriage and confidence is the reason. You did not look or speak like the picture you trying to paint

Next time, learn how to confidently say the truth and lies. Also, learn and read on how to quickly read people

Telling lies is a skill.
