Imagine if Atiku was PDP’s candidate in 2007 and later president, we would have had either a Donald Duke or Soludo as VP. There was no way Atiku would have chosen an over-bearing guy like Odili as his VP, or complete light weight like GEJ.

The man fked up the timeline angry

Modified - he fked up the timeline for PDP. which in spite of everything may ultimately have been a good thing. Like so many other African nations, Nigeria would have been effectively a one party state.

What in your opinion the true value of an Education from the average federal university?

I know if the education isn't subsidized, it def is higher than 20K per year, but I still don't think it's anywhere close to 800K or even 400K, based purely on the value the school delivers.

Bros I have seen that us Nigerians are hypocrital when something doesn't affect us (me inclusive coz I supported fuel subsidy removal hoping that atleast things will be put in place)

We have a rising number of out of school children and the plan is to further make education that's a basic right to be more expensive in secondary school 😁.

So yes make everything dey go

No dey disturb urself on top matters like this; Kwara state is like quarter-to-sharia. It's a predominantly Muslim state that is very very close to adopting Sharia system like other northern states. There's no way FG will meddle in the affairs of the state and the state governor is a Muslim who tilts more towards the majority Muslims than the minority traditional and Christianity religions.

Those Isese(traditional worshippers) are only but experiencing a tiny bit of what some northern Christians endure in the majority Muslim states like Kano, Kebbi, Niger, etc.

P.S: I'm not supporting the position of the Islamic fanatics in Kwara state, but just letting u know there's little or nothing the FG, State government or u as an outsider can do to help their plight. It is what it is.

And in the last election , he once again completely fked over the party. Back stabbing wike led to g5. I must run led to Peter obi splitting from the party.
How did Atiku backstab Wike?

The whole talk of power must come South didn't come up in the buildup to the primaries when Wike assumed he was sure of winning. In fact, Wike confident he was on his way to winning, said openly that he'd support whoever else won for the parties interest, only for Tambuwal to mess up his calculations last minute by telling his delegates to vote Atiku, thereby taking Atiku over the finish line just slightly.

Wike didn't remember Southern presidency when he was lobbying to be vice to Atiku grin, was until it became clear Atiku didn't want him as vice that he remembered that Southern presidency was important.

While I understand Wike had valid reasons to feel entitled to presidency in the party, since he had been the one carrying the party through some of it's toughest periods, but I don't see how Atiku winning the party primaries was him betraying Wike. People have in time past sponsored the PDP and APC financially and they didn't fork the party over when things didn't go their way.

And as regards Peter Obi, I don't think it was Atiku insisting on running that pushed him out...not at all, this was someone he ran with only 4 years ago, so what's wrong in giving it another go?

What pushed Peter Obi out was the governors insisting that vice must come from among one of them in order for Atiku to get their support, effectively making it impossible for Atiku to run with Peter Obi. Peter Obi seeing he wasn't going to be running with Atiku, and imagine no communication from the party on how things would go from here on, there was no communication on, decided to test his popularity outside the PDP.

The combination of Obi leaving the PDP, and the G5 was too much for the Atiku candidacy, and that's why he lost. He'd have had a fairly comfortable victory if either of those two things weren't playing out same time.

We are saying the same thing with regards to wike. As you said the man carried the party for the eight years that Atiku sat away in Dubai.

He was a party man to the core, unlike Atiku who is anywhere potential nomination face. And in the moment of truth the entire party from tambuwal down betrayed the guy.

I personally think the whole thing could have been handled better from the beginning. Because imho wike is a radioactive candidate.

Rivers is a Christian state, the celebrated crackdown on ipob, the alleged mosque demolition, and all this in the social media era and still very fresh in people's minds - wike no be presidential material.

But they could have done better

But Las Las pdp is like a woman going back to an unfaithful and largely unavailable boyfriend.

If anybody is a betrayal Its actually Tambuwal, he betrayed his southern friend at the dying minutes for his northern big brother.

Atiku's arrogance made him not choose Wike as vice so as to pacify him . If Atiku was more humble, he would've adopted Wike as his vice since he ticks the box of the PDP governors' request.

Looking back sha, I'm glad Atiku-Wike ticket didn't come to fruition cos both of them na very dangerous combo; see the kind stunts Wike pulled for APC in Rivers state. Imagine if he was now on the ballot, shey he no go turn the whole South south to war zone?

Some of these northerners are very funny..Upon how long they've been in power, still up to 70-75% of them in the NW are very poor to the extent of not knowing how to open or having funds for a bank account..

It's FG responsibility to give them funds to open bank accounts undecided..

So increase in price of fuel is bad, but increase in fees of Unity Schools from 45k to 100k at this very difficult time is good. Difficult situation the current Government put the people into, yet they couldn't wait for the hardship to ease off small before adding increase in fees. People i know who have kids in Unilag are already wailing since yesterday, my Friend who is a diehard Tinubu fan was wailing bitterly inside him car while we were going home yesterday 😁. The ticket was meant to be zoned to the South. Atiku in his usual sneaky and desperate move quickly rushed to buy the ticket in connivance with the leadership of the party.

When the issue of zoning finally came up, they said people had bought forms and that it should be thrown open.

That was the genesis of the whole problem. Atiku was responsible for all of PDPs misfortune in the last election. He was not meant to contest the primaries in the first place.

As events finally showed, they didn't even need Atiku in the first place. If they were united, anyone from the South would have defeated BAT.

The truth is, they all tried, they knew Tambuwal had the numbers and Atiku succeeded of course in getting Tambuwal’s votes (essentially making Tambuwal step down) because Tambuwal doesn’t trust Wike, who does?

No. I disagree.

At 100k - 200k a year, UNILAG (or other federal unis for that matter) fees still remain heavily subsidised.

Until the fees are raised to about 800k - 1.5 m per session, there is no reason for education bank or a students loan yet.

Government is asking people to pay 20% of the true price of university education and they are crying. What manner of entitlement is that?

Tertiary education is not a human right, It is a choice. Some people leave secondary schools to learn Mechanic and tailoring, where is their own free 700k a year?

My brother's will say it's privilege. Tertiary education at $150 in Unilag is what the problem is

The Seconday school boarding fees of 30k a term is what they are complaining about. If your child was at home for 3months will you not spend more than 30k to feed him even with the crappiest food?

To whom it may concern, you can't "spend" your foreign reserves. And that Excess Crude Account, it is Jonathan that depleted it from $20B to $2B without the consent of the governors without which he was not allowed to spend that money.

You guys will lionize the very people whose profound cluelessness catalyzed the devolution of an already ailing Nigeria.

I can't blame Atiku for passing over Wike for the vice presidency nomination.

Just as there are arguments for power to have come South, so too there were arguments for the ticket in the PDP as a party to be zoned North, seeing that the party has never had a Northern president run full term. The party throwing the ticket open was the pragmatic thing, their mistake and probably Atiku's was not finding ways to settle aggrieved parties.

The dynamics of every election change according to the persons running. PDP zoning to a Southerner again might have essentially made the party become a Southern party, and one can't say how the North would have reacted to that, but suggesting Wike would win a national election sounds very very funny sha.
