You probably don’t know enough about men’s football and very good goalkeepers . Keepers like Oblak, Courtois , Ramsdale , De Gea , Martinez etc make u open ur mouth is disbelieve when they keep out well placed shots Witt tips of their fingers
I agree with your overall point but I just felt you could've worded it better.

In men's football the best way to win is also not to expose your goalkeeper to many shots from the opponent. That's what "defending" truly mean. I don't seem know all these names you're mentioning. Which one be "Courtois". Na court the person dey work?

Q: What does this all mean for the ECOWAS region?

A: It's quite unstable right now. The ECOWAS chairman is facing a lot of pressure in terms of how the elections panned out. He issued a strong statement yday but people are already saying you yourself you're not legitimate.

A damning Indictment by the SA ambassador right there.

Tinubu still lacks legitimacy on the international stage.

Man kept talking about some steel plant in the southern part of Nigeria

Nigerian foreign policy is archaic.

Wailing Obidients at it again! sad How dare you demand that a Nigerian company part-funded by Nigeria's money employ Nigerians over foreigners?
Why can't you just see anything good in this even though Nigerians would get the shorter end of the stick?!

Indians must come first before Nigerians in Nigeria, and there's nothing you can do about it!

STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE

Kamala Harris, Guterres, in separate telephone calls with Tinubu, back Nigeria on Restoration of Democratic Order in Niger

...US Vice President commends President on reform initiatives

In separate telephone conversations with President Bola Tinubu on Thursday evening in Abuja, United States Vice President Kamala Harris and United Nations' Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expressed strong support for Nigeria's efforts toward the restoration of constitutional order in the Republic of Niger.

The two leaders also commended the Nigerian President, who is also the Chairman of ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government, for spearheading the peace moves.

On Wednesday July 26, 2023, some soldiers from the Presidential Guard had moved to depose President Mohamed Bazoum.

President Tinubu had quickly rejected the threat to democracy in that country, sending a strong delegation to talk with all the parties with a view to restoring constitutional order in Niger.

In her telephone conversation with President Tinubu, at the instance of the US authorities, Harris praised the reform initiatives of the Federal Government, urging the country to continue in that direction.

While pledging to support democracy in Africa including the West African sub region, Harris also said the U.S. would assist Nigeria in the battle against terrorism.

The US Vice President spoke on the need for Africa, including Nigeria to embrace energy transitions.

In his response, President Tinubu thanked Harris for the telephone call and her words of encouragement on the efforts taken so far on the economy, but added that "the developments in Niger Republic dampen spirits."

He said ECOWAS under his watch would do all that is necessary to restore democracy in Niger, while counting on the support of the US.

On Nigeria, President Tinubu craved for more private sector investment, urging the US to lead the way in this regard.

"We had to get rid of the fuel subsidy that is laden with fraud with a few people appropriating the wealth of the country to themselves.

"We would need the US to help push for investments that will help alleviate the effects of subsidy removal in Nigeria. We need foreign direct investment to come in.

"We have abundant gas resources in the country and not been able to fund gas pipelines to Europe and compete in that gas market is a handicap," he said.

On climate change, the President said Nigeria would stay focused on the alternate energy but he pleaded for the developed nations to understand the situation in developing countries including Africa.

The two leaders also spoke on strengthening relations between their two countries and on their shared work on global and regional issues.

Other matters that featured in the discussions that lasted about 40 minutes are defending democracy in West Africa and The Sahel and digital inclusion.

Speaking with the UN Secretary- General Guterres, President Tinubu said he was doing everything possible to resolve the impasse in Niger.

While expressing the hope that the situation in Niger could still be reversed for better, he said ECOWAS would require UN's support for restoring democracy and building institutions in that country.

Guterres had earlier pledged the commitment of the UN for Tinubu's peace efforts in Niger.

I do not understand either ooo

Modified

https://guardian.ng/opinion/subsidy-bridging-payments-as-another-grand-scam/

Apparently there marketers are supposed to be reimbursed their transport costs incurred before the subsidy removal. Subsidising their transport (bridging) costs would ensure that product was sold at the same price in lagos as in kano.

Ironically it is INDEPENDENT MARKETERS who have always sold above official pump price that are claiming this money.

Feels like a last attempt to chop.

Shooting happened in Enugu a state where PDP has been the governor for 23yrs. Where they gave a paltry 5,000 votes to APC in the last election

Dangote and a large number of industrial employers of labour have a preference for indians in management. Apparently Nigerians have golden goose greed - ie Nigerians are content to kill the golden goose that pays their livelihood (Rob the company to death) rather than sustainable stealing.

Then there is an unfortunate competence /work ethic issue

I know about the preference for Indian workers.

I’m just wondering why they are using the news to mock the administration.

Wetin concern Tinubu with Dangote company management?

This question is best directed at Jagabandits like OasisX who've been celebrating the refinery (a privately owned business BTW) as a win for the APC and by extension Buhari/BAT, talking about how it will reduce the price of fuel this year and provide jobs for Nigerians...both of which have now been shown to be audio benefits.

Probably more a skill shortage thing, and say Dangote no really send anybody papa, and going the Indian route is the way he believes he can run his business efficiently...he isn't interested in "gambling" with local talent.

Besides, there are several businesses running in the country with wholly Nigerian staffs, and dem neva die. You're a Nigerian yourself, and likely employed in Nigeria, so...

So are you saying a 21 Billion dollar Refinery, the largest industrial project on the African continent is bad for Nigeria?

On the refinery reducing the cost of PMS, that’s negligible, it’ll probably only shave off like 30 Naira from imported PMS.

I’m just trying to understand your thought process, you don’t think the refinery is a plus to the Nigerian economy?

Yea, it will benefit Nigerians, the same way his cement factory that sells one of the most expensive cement in the world to Nigerians has benefitted us.
