Shaytun:BAT was supposed to be more progressive and with-the-times than PMB. So far, he is flattering to deceive. The list does not inspire as much as I hoped and by not including the portfolio, regardless of the constitution, he is coming off as no different. Nevertheless, the essence of the screening is for discovery. If someone had forged certificates etc. It should be brought to light during the screening so that such a person is never confirmed. 7 Likes |

Theflint1: This is disgraceful honestly . So Tinubu spent 2 months consulting only to nominate for minister a person who has been barred by the Supreme Court from holding a political office for 10 years ? A certificate forger at that ? So what’s the whole talk about DSS clearance when they discuss ministerial screening ? 7 Likes |

larride: But the same LASG said they didn't pick anybody from lekki tollgate. The same LASG that said they have 18 unclaimed prisoners from ikoyi jailbreak meanwhile ikoyi prison has confirmed that they identified the 20 people who died and have contacted their next of kin as at October last year So again.. Is my head spinning or are you suffering from the spirit of telling lies. Larride why are you spreading lies about the people that died? Or are you now saying the LASG is lying and you jumped in to defend as usual? Which is it? 5 Likes |

President Bola Tinubu has expressed the willingness of the Federal Government of Nigeria to support global tech giant, Google Incorporated, to create one million digital jobs in Nigeria. The President gave the assurance at the State House, Friday evening during the visit of Google Global Vice President, Mr. Richard Gingras, to his office. President Tinubu told the visiting Google executive that Nigeria had creative and talented young people who are ready and motivated to learn especially at this age of Artificial Intelligence, stressing that the tech giant has the capabilities and tools that the young people need to excel. "I am glad that Google is ready to partner with us. You have answered our call on digital innovation and to help our youths. You are supporting our efforts to promote digital economy. We are ready to work with you on your commitment to create 1 million digital jobs in Nigeria. "We will give you all the support you need to have a beneficial corporate responsibility. We have started our economic reforms, even though tortuous." On Google's promotion of free speech, freedom of the press and democracy through its platforms, President Tinubu declared that it is in public interest that free speech and press freedom should not be impeded. "It is in public interest to continue to defend free press and free speech. We are committed to supporting a free society," the President said. In his address, the Google Vice President had earlier told President Tinubu that he was in Nigeria for West Africa Journalism Innovation Conference. He said he had been inspired by the creativity and talent of young people in Nigeria who are embracing technology and digital tools to expand access to information and promote democracy. Mr. Gingras told President Tinubu that his organisation has deep interest in Nigeria and stands ready to support the Federal Government. He listed the many capabilities of Google to include areas of Artificial Intelligence and other digital innovations that are empowering young people to become digital entrepreneurs, adding that Google subsea cable, Equiano named after Nigerian slave abolitionist that will significantly impact future internet connectivity demands landed in Nigeria in April 2022. He also promised that Google would help to secure Nigeria in the age of disinformation and fake news, saying that his organisation seeks to continue its partnership with the Nigerian government. "Google has deep interest in Nigeria. We want to support the government's efforts to create 1 million digital jobs. We have all the tools and capabilities to make this happen. We will also help ro secure Nigeria and we have discussed that with your National Security Adviser. "I came to Nigeria to learn. I am going back home very impressed with what I saw. You have very vibrant, creative and talented young people who are embracing innovation. "We will continue to support your programmes to expand your digital economy," Mr. Gingras said. He was accompanied on the visit by Mr. Adewolu Adene, Government and Public Affairs Manager for Google in West Africa, Mr. Adewolu Adene and Premium Times Publisher, Mr. Dapo Olorunyomi. Emaprince: The judicial system no get fault na . They have already made a pronouncement that he is barred from holding public office , it’s the people that appointed him to a political office that should be questioned what they were thinking . Is there nobody in Taraba state that has WAEC certificate that can be nominated in his stead ? I even read the guy’s profile , there’s nothing exciting about it. 1 Like

Android17: Those types of screening that will expose forgers and the like would have been done by the DSS and EFCC, I think they have been some cases in the past where some nominee didn’t pass the security clearance, I’m not sure. What I would like to see on the senate floor is scrutinising the nominee to test their knowledge of the ministry they are going to head. |

Shaytun:The president nominates who he wants and they get screened by the NASS. The NASS in tandem with Law enforcement should then do a background check and provide the details to the legislators who will use those to vet the nominee and decide if they are to be confirmed during that screening process. I don't mind them asking questions around the ministry the nominees could potentially preside over however, leadership is not about having technical knowledge in a field. That's what the civil servants and advisers are there for. Leadership should be about managing human beings, doing the same with risks and delegating appropriately. Interestingly, those skills are transferable. El Rufai for e.g would still be competent if he was made the health minister. He does not have to know the definition of medical terms etc to be good at his job. 2 Likes |

I dont remember having any discussion about Endsars that was picked or not picked anywhere with you on this thread except when you called my attention to it and I told you to check the list released by LASG. It is LASG that released list, what's my own with it. Na me release ham? You were caught lying unrepentantly and trying to twist your way out it. Kolewerk. Hold your L tightly. 6 Likes 1 Share |

Android17: If DSS has already cleared the nominee for the President, nothing the Senate will do because it's the same DSS that will do the screening if the Senate wants to investigate. |

larride:You are right and that shows how poorly run our DSS is because this same issue played out with Kemi Adeosun and Evan/Evans Enwerem and the Salisu Buhari (could be wrong name) guy and his fake Toronto diploma. I'll be disappointed if the Taraba nominee had been given a go by the DSS. For now, I am choosing to believe the screening happens at the NASS and not before the nomination. |

Okpa Nnsuka u see why I continue to refer to DSS as a useless organization ? It’s just an extension of our incompetent civil service . Me a common citizen can type “ Sani Danladi “ on google and get informed that he’s a certificate forger and unfit to occupy any political office for 10 years as penance for lying under oath…,, Yet DSS a self acclaimed secret service was not the first to flag it 🤦♂️ We should just brace up for what’s to come from the “democrats “ 1 Like |

BlueRayDick: I've seen a lot of economists predict this. They say it's why investors are still reluctant to bring their money into the country. They are predicting that the price of crude will rise in the coming months, Naira will continue its free fall against the dollar, fuel price will continue to rise and there will be so much pressure on the government till they will have no other choice but to suspend the currency float. Time will tell. |
