How did they arrive at these figures?

North West: 92.8%

North Central: 96.2%

Nigeria wey no get database dey dish out figures

Nigeria has a national database, but it doesn't capture everyone in the country. NIN is a national database. With BVN, you can relatively estimate how the wealth of the country is distributed among individuals too.

It's sampling size used in the majority tribes like Hausa, Yoruba and Fulani I find concerning.

The population of the South East is the least so the sampling in relation to SW and NW may not be fair. If you sample 10 people out of 20 and take same size among 50 people, the probability is higher in the lower but I know you can then use statistical tools to test and analyse the variations that is still based on statistical assumptions.

The outcome from either the NW and SW group are faulty or that of the SE is faulty because both groups are at the opposite poles with SE being the least populated zone while NW/SW are the most populated geopolitical zones. I will not even go to the asymmetry in having the SE's data in this report at a time it's having long days of sit at home and massive emigration to other zones further increasing the chances of reduced population of SE.

You are even wasting your time. South East alone is the only wealthy region in Nigeria. The rest are too poor. If only the rest of the country can also investment in fake drugs and cocaine. Every one would have become billionaires too. cheesy

How do you estimate the wealth of those regions using BVN?

You extract it using place of residence or state of origin? Please enlighten me 🤔

Forget about BVN, that's a topic for another day. I have answered your question on national database. Let's not derail.

Despite all the noise and everything, Igbos of SE Nigeria is so far ahead in virtually all indices of development. We continue to demand for good governance because we naturally know our place is at the top in the committee of nations, not among dregs!

It will only get better for Igbos. So, haters can only hate but it won't stop us!!!

If not that majority of Nigerians are not really bright, this shouldn't even be news. You can't dominate in education and still dominate in trade/commerce and craft without being ahead.

If Igbos are not relatively well-off, we won't be living in decent houses. The only reason why SW is doing relatively okay as well is due to proximity to Lagos. Otherwise, they won't even be close to Igbos at all.

Another thread meant to be a battle ground for the Yorubas and Igbos..

Almost everyone in the North Central is poor, according to this chart.

Meanwhile, the bulk of the poor people in the South South are found in Akwa Ibom and Bayelsa. Ironically, both states are amongst the top 6 largest oil producing states in the country.

Those oil producing states aren't making it easy to defend them either. They keep frustrating multinationals out of their land. Now, all the coys do is to drill the oil while the people suffer.

There is something generally wrong with the mentality of people in Nigeria irrespective of tribe, religion or social group. It's why à lot are poor. And it's the mindset. The poverty mindset that makes everyone want to get free things though it will jeopardise Nigeria's interest.

Even if the multinationals don't do much in terms of creating employment opportunities for the state indigenes where they drill for wealth, why are the state governors failing to remedy the pitiable situations?

It beggars believe for anyone to conclude or even remotely suggest that laziness is the ultimate excuse as to why millions of people will be poor in one state. Millions of people can't all be lazy and wanting freebies, and even preferring that to working for their own livelihoods.

Poor governance and inadequate leadership representation has to be factored in as well.

This data is false, out right lie. North central is far below this in number of poor people

Apart from Abuja North Central is completely damaged by fulani herdsmen.

The poverty in Niger state is huge, the poverty in some parts of Benue as result of displaced people no be here.
Almost half of displaced men and women in North East of Nigeria are in Abuja begging and constantly on the move to no where.

Far ahead in which indices

Statistics of poor people per state doesn’t can easily be flawed.

What you can use to determine is IGR

And in every indices, southeast is the poorest in the south and second poorest in Nigeria

I wouldn't even bother providing the said stats complete or comprehensive table. Mere looking a the audio table provided by the OP self base on number and percentage one can tell why SW is even better off considering her population in comparison to SE.

How did you dominate in education, trade and commerce

Last I checked, southwest is the education giant of Nigeria?
Or you think it is by jamb miracle centers? Even with your miracle centers, Yorubas still dominate the list every year. Stop claiming other people’s glory
How did you dominate trade and commerce when ogun state IGR alone is bigger than the entire Southeast region
Oyo is two times that if Anambra. Or where do you think IGR come from?
This chest beating must stop. If you think you are special, others are special too

The only glory I can give you is export and import and trade of spare parts
