unite4real: Not necessarily. The dollar is still depreciating. It may be over N1000 by the end of September so more revaluation income. |

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by unite4real: 4:07pm On Jul 30, 2023 |
Standardguy: I think it's the naira that is depreciating. Again from the present floating state of around 850-870 to N1000, it will not be as high as jumping from 460 to over 800 following the floating of the Naira weeks ago. So the margin of profit by these banks in the 3rd quarter cannot be as witnessed in the 2nd quarter |

locodemy: I think it's best to FOLLOW THE MONEY. When the fixed income space becomes more attractive, then we follow. If it's getting less attractive, we move to where the money is destined next. The fixed income, stocks, real estate market will not generally move in same direction. 3 Likes |

unite4real: But Tbill is offering 12.5% currently. At 15-18%, stocks will be desert Nah. If no bull is seen in Transcorp, mansard, Linkage, Nahco, MRS, custodian, Fcmb, Wema, Nascon, Uacn, etc tomorrow, know the money bags have found a new love. 2 Likes 1 Share |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by unite4real: 4:52pm On Jul 30, 2023 |
locodemy: The amount of Naira in circulation has been increasing and the inflation is subsequently on the north side. The first approach for CBN to mop up liquidity is via the fixed income and hence TB is expected to even be higher than the 12.5%, going by what the MPR is. With an MPR of 18.5% and headline inflation of over 22%, it's unfair to sell TB at the current rate. Again, a higher fixed income rate will burden the federal government debt servicing. If you are able to cash out from the equity market and direct your money to where the money is moving next and then wait patiently to re-enter the stocks if it goes to another low 1 Like 1 Share |
