I feel your pain. God will raise a good Samaritan to help financially. But for the mental health issue, I want you to ditch the claim that its spiritual attack. You may be correct in your assumption but what your husband need is the service of a psychiatrist. Balance the equation. While you continue your prayers, and seeking divine help, let a doctor also come in. You will thank me later for heeding this advice. |

airsaylongcome: paranoid schizophrenia Paranoia can be one symptom of these mental health problems: paranoid schizophrenia – a type of schizophrenia where you experience extreme paranoid thoughts. delusional disorder (persecutory type) – a type of psychosis where you have one main delusion related to being harmed by others. paranoid personality disorder. There are medications for all these |

Basic123: You see a GP when you don’t know your problem She says they have no money Go straight to a specialist, we have whole hospital units dedicated to mental health in nigeria or an entire hospital like yaba. A GP will cost money, if unlucky , wrong diagnosis before going to see a specialist you should have seen all along |

Kobojunkie:ANTI CHRIST stay out of my mention! I rebuke you in the name of Jesus. It is not a crime to believe in Jesus! Live your life let me live mine! Don’t you ever come to counter what I believe in. My Sweet Jesus tell me in my bible that I should call on Him and He will answer me and show me great and mighty things I don’t know. Be warned! Op, read And meditate on Psalm 27. Jesus loves you |

Yankee101: Neuroleptics. I'm aware of those. But how can one handle paranoid schizo when the subject refuses to seek medical help? In a jurisdiction where the laws do not allow forced treatment and have restrictions on access to the person's medical records |
Re: I'm Tired, My Husband Is Mentally Challenged by Kobojunkie: 8:19pm On Jul 30, 2023 |
Turquoiseee:1. You say you Rebuke me in Jesus Christ yet I am stil here responding boldly to your claims, isn't that at least clear indication that incantation of yours there does not work. 2. It is one thing to believe in God --- actually submit to and obey His teachings and commandments--- and another thing entirely to carry His name around by mouth only and not in deed, something you religious folks seem only capable of. 3. Interesting! If he has answered you why then you resort to using the psalms as if a book of incantations it is almost as though calling the name of Jesus Christ. --- by mouth alone and not deed --- has not favored you much hence the reason why you feel to add incantations much like even witches are known for. 4. Jesus Christ instead said that His love is reserved only for those who obey His teachings and commandments- John 15 vs 9 -11 & John 13 vs 1. Clearly, you don't even seem to see eye to eye with Jesus Christ on a lot of things. |

airsaylongcome: What jurisdiction? If it’s a developed country, the courts may grant you Guardianship But the problem is people abuse it to control the subjects’ money, time and life to their own benefits If the person is functioning despite their illness, you won’t get that. And going to court could ruin their careers especially if they are in sensitive jobs like medicine and aviation. Your best route is dialogue |

Kobojunkie: You seem like a psycho! You keep quoting John and Isaiah every now and then. These are the only verses you hold on to. Forgetting there are other books and verses. I believe in Jesus Christ as my redeemer and savior! I am proud to quote His verses and I am not deterred by your comments. I will call on Him because He always answers me. I don’t know about you! I rebuked you earlier, not you, but the foul spirit speaking through you. It is my choice to follow Jesus. So let me be! Stick to your belief and I will to mine. Op, try Jesus He will never let you down. |

beautifulsoul12:Only you know the weight of burden you are carrying. It is impossible for anyone to understand you if they've not experienced something close. What to do!? 1. Become a prayer warrior! There is nothing impossible for God to do. 2. Take your children to your parent or his parent for upkeep. They should be willing to help if they understand the problem on ground. 3. Use this time to devote more energy to your business. You need some financial muscle to heal and survive. 4. Your husband need to see a doctor : he may be suffering from some form of Schizophrenia. He may have to be on daily medication for a long time. Stress is a trigger for their mental issues (without stress, you may not even know that they have any problem) 5. It is not your fault, so stop blaming yourself. Cheer up and live your life to it's fullest without regret. The point is that what happened to your husband can happen to anyone. 6. In case there is persistent violence, please tell your pastor, your parent and his parents that you will need to separate (not divorce) 7. Take care of your children and pray for them that the curse will not be transferred to them. 8. For now, take it that you are in charge of EVERYTHING! Him, your children, your business, your family etc. I'm so sorry for you but you have to pick up yourself or you will land into a deep depression. If you are born again, this is the time of holding on to God for strength in this time of your trial. |

beautifulsoul12: Can you be specific with exactly what you have tried? Has he seen a psychiatrist? Had a proper mental health assessment and subsequent diagnosis? Since he currently has a crisis have you taken him to a teaching hospital for the above? What were you told by qualified medical practitioners? @beautifulsoul12 |
Re: I'm Tired, My Husband Is Mentally Challenged by Ilekokonit: 9:28pm On Jul 30, 2023 |
beautifulsoul12: You have not tried all your best. It irks me when educated people who have free access to research things on Google now allow illiterate or educated illiterate scammer religious clerics and ignorant family members to tell them a common mental illness is caused by spiritual attack or family problems ?? Your education is not only to get a certificate but to use the knowledge throughout life and if you bothered to isolate yourself and do proper research on Google, you will find out that mental health issues are more common than you think and it affects both the rich and the poor in equal proportions in ALL countries of the world. Perhaps you did not read the news of the death of that popular musician - Sinead O'Connor - this week in London - an apparent suicide. What we IGNORANTLY call madness in Nigeria is more common in Western countries but over there they are not labelled as mad but their societies and enlightened family members promptly get them psychiatric help as soon as they notice any odd behavior and this occurs to their high and mighty as well. Has your husband been to a psychiatrist hospital which is free of charge in ALL states in Nigeria If he has, did he complete his course of medication or at least use them daily for at least 6 months ? Do you allow or force your husband to sleep UNDISTURBED for at least 8 hours EVERY day so as to correct any chemical imbalance in his brain that causes A LOT of mental health issues The last 3 points I made above are key to your husband finally beating this recurring mental health issue and NOT any family or spiritual problem you mentioned above. If he does the above WITH YOUR SUPPORT (excluding nagging or shouting at him or ridiculing / blaming him), then he will have beaten the condition in 6 months time and he will be able to then get a good job for the benefit of your whole family going forwards. Rent is just temporary. His getting better finally is the key to your family's future happiness health wise and financially if you are prepared to give him a chance to beat the condition without judging him for genes he UNINTENTIONALLY inherited. |

Purvan: Well said. Not everything is spiritual. Some are inherited genetically and something as little as not enough sleep can cause a chemical imbalance in the brain. A chemical imbalance that can be corrected by the CORRECT medication. But in Nigeria they will not look after the patient through a psychiatrist but will try quacks and spiritualists who end up compounding the issue or try prayers only until the patient due to restlessness absconds from home and starts roaming the streets until their clothes get ripped to shreds due to rough sleeping and they become naked whilst roaming the streets and our society might even start stoning or abusing them. Something than can be cured easily by visiting a psychiatrist in a teaching hospital which is free in ALL states in Nigeria. |

This Kogi/Benue/Zamfara/Abuja guy is a scammer, still the same guy that claimed that claimed the hubby died. Until he successfully scam the nice people of their money, he will continue opening new moniker with new stories. Whenever he gets money, he rests for sometime before coming when broke again. His main moniker is goodness34, but has lots of other monikers on this forum. He is always looking for money to buy sewing machine, barbing tools or phone repair tools. He comes as female or male. Dont bother verifying him on the phone through call or video call cos he has female accomplice, guess a family member. He uses his other monikers to hype himself on his scamming threads. |
