We are not invading it as Nigeria. We are invading it as ECOWAS

The last time i checked, Niger Republic was part of ECOWAS, and one of the commitments of the Community to its member countries is to uphold their constitutional laws and promote and instill peace

If we stop Mr Coupist from pulling this stunt, we would guide them into their next election in 2025, and then Mr Coupist can contest and win easily (shebi his people love him well well? )

But if this guy gets his wish, be ready for another coup before 2024 ends

And oh, they can kiss electing their leaders and democracies goodbye
Most of them are ECOWAS states. Who do you think will bring the majority of resources?

You think Niger sef no get their backers? Our Army does not have the logistics and resources to waste on these people abeg. When Putin sends Wagner to come and play you people will know that to start chaos is easy stopping it is the problem

As far as we know Nigeriens are happy with the guys on ground. Let them release the deposed guy and everyone go their jolly way. Invading a sovereign country has consequences that frankly I'm not sure Nigeria is ready for

The funny thing is Niger is 1.4% bigger than Nigeria in land mass according to Google. If we have been battling insecurity issues in just Northern Nigeria for over 15 years with little results to show for it, How do we want to police a bigger Niger backed by Putin's wagner group?

Hence why I asked.
Coz I know it's all about who is closer to the president as per padi man.

Some people believe Alake is more influential than Femi due to that clodeness🤔

I doubt it. The CoS coordinate all the activities of the President. As far as the presidency is concerned, Femi will be more influential.

Niger is definitely bigger than Nigeria. And that whole coup thing has sailed. There is a full coup belt in Western Africa so what is the entire fuss about Niger?

Nigeria share over a 1000km land border with this Niger country that's already porous.

Anything dialogue can't fix let them leave them to their devices abeg. Or they send their son Buhari to talk with them. Do they know how many Nigeriens dey Nigeria I'm sure even for our army Niger people go dey. These guys should not turn the region to proxy war theater of America and Russia

I detest the fact that America will look away when people are groaning under a democratically elected ; then the moment non state actors and coupists listen to the people’s groan; America starts saying “It’s democracy or nothing “

What do you want America to do to a democratically elected government? Is the sane thing not to wait till election time and work behind the scene for another party/individual (which are usually their puppets) to take over?

A democratic elected govt means they were voted in by the majority of the people, I dont know what you want America who are "champions" of democracy to do.

Ekpa the efulefu is governing 5 states in Eastern Nigeria from Finland, holding an entire region of a federation hostage, we no do anything, despite numerous pleadings.

But if na to invade Niger, our prick go stand because it will look good on us abi? You have asked Nigerians to endure the austerity measures aimed at reclaiming the economy and they are doing that in sifia pains, please they should use our armies to secure Nigerian lives first!

I no like wetin I no like!

No I'm telling you the "their citizens are backing them line" is bullshit.

Just how many days and the coupist has banned social media which means they dont want the outside world to know whatz going on there.

There has been protest in support of the coup and protest against the coup by equal section of their citizens. Both side will be playing propaganda at a very high level.

Make those in position of privileged information take decisions.

Nigerians na very funny people grin

When this guy starts, and Nigeriens start pouring into our country, also giving birth to different terror groups, the same Nigerians will come back and lament on why Tinubu is not doing anything.

Someone is loved by his people, but he is banning social media, yet we cannot see the clear sign that this guy should not even be the Class captain of an SS3 class.

Make Tinubu comot hand sef. grin

This angle no make sense, bros.

All ECOWAS is saying is that the coupists should follow their own constitutional laws. The moment you give room for a law to be powerless, everyone and anyone would take advantage of it.

So what happens when another coupist tries to overthrow this coupist? Should Nigeria come in then, or take it as another WIN?

Their election is in 2025. Let the coupists form a party and let the majority that loves them prove it then.

Giving room for one coup is just to give room for more.
ECOWAS dey sleep when coup dey happen for Mali, Burkina Faso, Guinea. That ship has sailed already. Wake up bro!!

Chad even understandable from Papa die shebi na pikin takeover. Each of these countries have their issues unique to them. Why we dey carry Niger matter for our head like gala is what I don't understand. Their matter is in house matter that we can only escalate if we don't mind our business

Chad is not part of Ecowas.

Burkina Faso was suspended from Ecowas after their coup.

There was intervention in Guinea but it was diplomatic and the agreement was that the govt will transition to civilian rule in 2025 with the coupist not being eligible to ever contest future elections.

It's not the first time Ecowas is intervening in coup in West Africa. Buhari and Ecowas sent forces into Gambia when the President that lost election refused to hand over to the winner of the election and force him to handover.

We share the longest border with Niger, whatever is happening there will have ripple effect toward us.
